I currently have a 2 year old Galaxy S2 GT-i9100. And I am planning to buy a new phone for myself. I would prefer a phone that would have better camera than the one in my S2.
I stay in India. My budget is below Rs30k, while I can extend it up to 32k.
How's Nexus 5.??

Hi all,
I am in the process of helping my friend purchase an android phone. I'm not the best in decision making and since he is on At&t and I am on Verizon there is not a whole lot I can help him with... So I'm asking for recommendations on the best phone out there on At&t at a price no higher than $50 (refurbished is okay) This will be his first android phone and id love to get him to join the community but his concern is that he doesn't want the phone to be obsolete after a year (because he is signing a 2 year agreement) and doesn't at the moment want to flash any custom ROMs, but i may be able to change that.
Thanks in advance!

He could try to go with the Galaxy Nexus or wait a bit for the GS III. Not sure about the prices though.
ZTE Blade or HTC Desire

I would probably wait for the HTC one X or maybe the Galaxy S3 sort of next generation smartphones
Please what are you thoughts i need to know quite soon
S2 way over the Nexus.
Even though the S is a Nexus device, it's not a phone I would pick at this time with all these newer much more powerful phones coming out.

If they won't add microSD in the future Nexus lines I will never a buy a Nexus line of devices again. Just root other better phones and install the latest & greatest here on XDA...I hate cloud !
Only if the SGS2 is not an I9100G

It depends on your budget. If you've got a fairly large budget and looking to get a fairly new phone with great features and future support and updates then I'd either go with the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, or the new Nexus 4. I have the Nexus S and it runs great, recently updated it to 4.1.2 Jellybean.
Remember it's all about your budget and if you're the type of person who likes to flash ROM's and whatnot.
Hope that helped,
Regards,

This helped me even more, thx bro, and yeah Gnexus is cheap and good, the nexus 4 is even better than the gs3 and gnex, but scores low in the benchmarks, so I think a food option is the gnex

Galaxy S2 with ICS Neat Rom is quite good.
S2 is suitable
samsung galaxy siii mini
I second the S2. large volume means a pretty good market and it meets all your specs. It's also pretty mainstream, so good active development too.
Nexus 4
Buy Nexus 4 :fingers-crossed:

Nice phones but the best is nokia with the flash light and camera 1.3 from the back just kidding .
After trying out a clean and bloat free Android experience, I must say Nexus or a heavily CM supported smartphone.
I didnt have a nexus I have a samsung galaxy s4 i9500 its pretty good but it contains alot of issues and bugs
