Hello!
Firstly I would like you to check if it's possible to unlock the bootloader.Do that by typing this in dialer *#*#7378423#*#* and then go to service info->configuration and see what rooting status is saying. If bootloader unlock it's allowed you'll be able to overclock your CPU.If not,you won't be able.
If you passed the test we're going to the second step and that's to unlock bootloader. There's a tutorial here in general section.Look for it and follow it carefully.
After unlocking bootloader, download flashtool from here and follow this tutorial until step 4(Step 4 not included).Note that you won't find XL in the drivers list,so just check fastboot & flash mode drivers. Then download a kernel(go to original android development...i recommend you phantom v4.1),extract it and put boot.img on desktop.Turn off your phone, open flashtool and connect your phone via USB while pressing volume up.it should say that your device is connected in fastboot mode.the windows might also install some drivers.then press the little thunder icon from top left corner in flashtool, and select fastboot mode.the click "Select kernel to flash" , browse to boot.img (note that you must change file extension to .img when the browsing window pops up) . select it and it should take about 5 seconds. Then click reboot phone to system(it's near the "select kernel to flash" ) and disconnect your phone.let it boot, connect it to usb and put in sd card the kernel.zip.then turn phone off->turn it on->at phantom logo when led turns pinks press press volume down until it turns blue.the select wipe cache partition,go to advanced tab, select wipe dalvik cache, the go back, install file->select from external card->select kernel.zip and that's all.go back, reboot phone and let it boot.after this,go to playstore, install trickster mod,and you must turn on intelli-plug (in trickster mod app tap menu button(top left corner) and go to specific tab.turn it on and an "apply" button will pop up above.press it and then go to general tab.select max frequency 1566 mhz and that's all.press apply again, reboot and then check one more time if settings were (as it should) saved.
Good luck.Plese don't be lazy and ask for more links. All the best!

man I can hardly understand an. thing
Can you please help me step step because I new here and I can't understand any hing:crying::crying:m

[Q] S3 working with tmobile but need help changing baseband

Hey everyone,
I recently was given a Verizon galaxy s3 I want to use it with tmobile. I used these steps
a) Download Samsung Drivers if you do not already have them. It is an Exe file: DOWNLOAD
b) Run what you just downloaded, to install the drivers.
c) Download the ODIN3 Software, this software lets you flash (which means write to the hardware of your computer which is normally not possible) your phone. The file you are downloading is compressed, which means you need to first uncompress it. DOWNLOAD
d) Extract (Uncompress) the folder you just downloaded, and run ODIN3 which will be one of the files inside the folder you just extracted.
NOTE ODIN3 is an Executable File, which means you do not install it, you just click on it to run it.
e) Now we need to download the file VRALEC Bootchain. This file will be used by to allow us to flash (using the ODIN3 software) a customized recovery image on to your phone. DOWNLOAD
NOTE: What an image is, is simply a snap shot of a harddrive, sort to speak. Someone who has advanced knowledge of the Android OS, created a snap shot of their Phone "Harddrive" (firmware) so that others could simply replace their current Android OS, with the customized one.
f) Turn off your phone. HOLD DOWN the Volume Down Key, Home Key, and the POWER down key. As soon as the phone Vibrates release the POWER button only. Once the ODIN Screen comes up, release the other two buttons and hit the Volume UP key.
g) Now connect your phone to your computer using your USB Cable.
h) Now on your computer, bring up ODIN3 and click on PDA, this will bring up a file selector. You want to select the VRALEC Bootchain you just downloaded (VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5 for example).
WARNING: DO NOT CLICK ANY CHECK-BOXES, YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR PHONE.
NOTE: After you select the file, the box next to the PDA button should now be populated with the location of the file: C:\Users\yourname\Downloads\VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5.
i) Now locate the Start button, located below the PDA button.
WARNING: DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE OR TURN IT OFF DURING THIS PROCESS.
NOTE: Once it is complete, your phone will restart.
j) After your phone restarts, go back to ODIN3 and click the Reset button, it is located right next to the Start button.
k) Unplug your phone and then turn it off, and finally take the back cover off.
l) We need to get back to the ODIN mode. Turn off your phone (if its not off already). Push and hold down the Volume Down Button, Home Button, and the POWER Button. As soon as the phone Vibrates release the Power Button only. Once the ODIN Screen comes up, release the other two buttons and hit the Volume UP Button.
m) Once you are in ODIN Mode connect your phone again to your computer
n) Now you need to download ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.2.3 (a recover image that you will use to replace your current Android OS with a Unlocked one). DOWNLOAD
o) After you download it, bring up the ODIN3 software again, and this time you want to UNCHECK Auto-Reboot. This is very important, after you uncheck it, the only option that should be CHECKED is the F.Rest Time option.
p) Now click on the Bootloader button and select the Clockwork recovery image we downloaded at step n. (CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5 for example)
NOTE: After you select the recovery image, the box next to the should display the location of the; C:\Users\yourname\Downloads\CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5
q) Now locate and click the Start button again, located at the bottom of the ODIN3 Panel
WARNING: DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE OR TURN IT OFF DURING THIS PROCESS.
r) After it has finished running, disconnect your phone, turn it off, and take out the battery. Leave the battery out for at least 20 seconds.
s) We need to now turn on the Phone into Recovery. To get into Recovery mode follow these steps; Turn off your phone (if its not off already). Push and hold down the Volume UP Button, Home Button, and the POWER Key. As soon as the phone Vibrates release the Power Button only.
NOTE Once you see "Recovery Mode..." at the top left of the screen you can let go of the buttons.
t) Once in recover mode, select reboot system now, after you click it, it will ask you if you want to disable recovery flash. YOU MUST SELECT "Yes - Disable recovery flash"
ATTENTION : The following step is very important, you must select Yes - Disable recovery flash
u) We need to now download the Super User Package to grant us Root. DOWNLOAD
NOTE: This package is a compressed zip file. DO NOT UNCOMPRESS THIS FILE, YOU NEED IT TO BE COMPRESSED.
v) Connect your phone back to your computer, and copy the zip file you just downloaded in step u, to your phone's External SD card. (SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip for example, will be the name of the file that you will copy over)
w) We now need to get into Recovery mode again. To get into Recovery mode follow these steps; Turn off your phone. Push and hold down the Volume UP Button, Home Button, and the POWER Key. As soon as the phone Vibrates release the Power Button only.
NOTE Once you see "Recovery Mode..." at the top left of the screen you can let go of the buttons.
x) Once you are in recovery mode, select "- install zip from sdcard"
y) Then click on "- choose zip from external sdcard"
z) Now find the file you downloaded and copied over. (SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip for example) and select it.
NOTE: if you can't see the file, you may need to scroll down, to find it.
Sigh... this is a long process.... I am past step z!
z1) Click on "- Yes - Install SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip"
z2) After its finished, a you will see the menu again. Click on "++++++ Go Back+++++++"
z3) Click on "- reboot system now" your system should now be restarting.
We are not done yet, we now need to add the Tmobile APNs to our phone, however, the phone is set up to prevent you to do this, because of greed, corruption and a broken system.
Here are the original instructions to allow APNs unlocking in its entirety : Full Guide
z4) go to the Play Store, then search for and install BuildProp Editor
z5) Once it is installed, open it up and it will as you to grant the application superuser access, click on "GRANT"
z6) click the phone Menu Button, and when the menu comes up, click on Edit
z7) Scroll all the way to the botton, and add these two lines to it:
ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL
z8) After entering the new in the two new lines, click on Save Icon located top right. It will pop up a message near the bottom center that will let you know it was saved.
z9) After you save it, restart your phone.go to
•Settings
•More Settings
•Mobile Networks
•Access Point Names
Here are the original instructions to set up Tmobile APN in its entirety : Full Guide
z10) Click on the phones Menu Button and click on "+ New APN"
z11) Click on Name, set it "T-Mobile" then click OK
z12) Click on APN, and set it to "epc.tmobile.com" then click OK
z13) Click on MMSC and set it to "mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc" then Click OK
z14) Click on the phones Menu Button and click on "Save"
z15) Click on "T-Mobile" and then restart your phone.
THATS IT! We are done... man
to root and unlock the bootloader and shows my phone is rooted but in step t I did not get the "Yes - Disable recovery flash" message. I did continue to the rest of the steps and it shows that my phone is rooted but I still can not stick to tmobiles towers and I keep getting a pop up asking if I want to switch to global. Does not clicking "Yes - Disable recovery flash" make the difference to making it work with tmobile? If so how can I fix this. Also, I still can not send or receive picture messages. I have the Samsung galaxy s3 i535 4.1.2. baseband version i535vrbmf1. I hope someone can help me
Instead of selecting global, try GSM/UTS

I have and still nothing. I have also tried to network unlock Via secret menu umts, debug screen, phone control, network lock but after that their is no options. Anyway to manually change the bandbase?
The baseband can be changed by flashing a different modem, I believe. What do you want to change it to?
The messages issue sounds like an APN issue to me.

THERE YOU GO... YOU ARE DONE. YOU CAN VERIFY ROOT BY DOWNLOADING ROOT CHECKER FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE.
WELL I WAS FORCED TO ROOT MY K4 NOTE JUST TO PLAY POKEMON GO.
I WILL UPLOAD SCREEN SHOT ONCE I ALREADY COMPILED THEM. THANK YOU
IF YOU LIKE AND HELPED YOU A LOT PLEASE HIT THANKS AND LEAVE A MSG.
IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, JUST COMMENT IT HERE.
Thanks it worked. I was about to complain when twrp recovery does not show up. BUT IT WORKED THANKS
xposed isn't necessary to root the phone. Am I right? Maybe you should explain that in the OP. You'll get people confused down the road if they don't already know what they're flashing.

And yes,one more question,

hi
will it erase internal phone memory (i mean after flushing ROM can i get my data using any recovery software)
i am also using same s219 Rom model lenovo k4 note phone.
Actually i deleted some files unexpectedly from internal memory but i want them back, so i tried many ways but no software is identifying internal memory as a drive. I tried to root using root apps but marshmallow not allowing.
i found this topic, but i have only doubt is after flushing the rom can i recover my data using any recovery software?
Thanks in advance
thank you so much!
now to answer some queries and give thanks...
@Duffy144: glad you like it.
@Bdwilk: thank you for the input, i will do that.
@infected_162k: i haven't tried yet since i haven't been able to check latest OTA, but i will try it now since s218 causes lag and memory leak when using facebook messenger. and as you've said. thanks for the confirmation for s219, at least i am more confident. btw, does this really solve the memory leak of the s218?
@anvesh.k yes it will delete all files as the procedure requires you to factory reset your handset.
Rooted K4 Marshmallow
Damn. Finally. I got root. Can finally get rid of that Cell Broadcast. Thanks Sir ansei. The unlocking of bootloader, flashing of twrp and supersu process is pretty much straight forward and will only take you about less than 10 minutes.
Am not sure if this is a systemless root i have. If so, it's great. I am on S_219. Zero performance or stability issues.
I feel my K4 Note runs smoother and snappier compared to S150 row. Still getting the hang of the revamped user interface though.
Overall, Marshmallow 6.0 S_219 runs great with unlocked bootloader, twrp and supersu.
Can someone confirm if this works with 2 gb / 32 variant?

Amm, about that memory leak thing, i basically know what that is cause it was a huge problem in my father's phone(gionee m3). But i exactly don't know how to know if it's still there or not as I use messenger hardly 2-3 times a week. guide me about this so I can tell you exactly.
Another thing that will help other users: I have to factory reset my phone due to a google error ( unable to communicate with Google server). I was not sure about root and xposed will be gone or not. But here is the result : lost both, root and xposed. Just flashed both again, super su and xposed framwork, worked

Old data? Not sure what you are referring to. After the unlocking of bootloader, flashing or twrp and root, restarted the phone in normal mode. Went through the setup wizard and all. Reinstalled my usual stuff. Back to where I left in Lollipop. Zero issues with Marshmallow 6.0 S_219.
Sir Ansei, everything is fine except 1 minor issue, when rebooting to TWRP, I often get the black screen. Power cycling the phone works. Any ideas?

May be what he trying to tell is he accidentally deleted some of his important stuff and now he wants to get it back with the apps that use root to dig around. But as per my experience, it only work if that portion of sd card of internal storage is stayed untouched not if overwritten by something else. But if you already rooted, just give it a try...maybe you'll be lucky...

I cannot get fastboot to recognize my device & perform the bootloader unlock. [GUIDE] Viper4Android for the Moto Z

Oi guys!
So for now i might be alone on this, but i am certain that some few of you have wondered on how to get Viper4Android to work on the Moto Z without flaws. I am here to give you a small guide, because i figured out how to fairly easy add V4A.
There are 3 simple steps, but they can (in case you haven't done the first one yet) take some time.
If you have already Unlocked your Bootloader, disabled Force_Encrypt (either by manually editing the boot.img or flashing @janjan his ROM), installed a RECOVERY like TWRP and ROOTED your device, then you can skip right ahead to STEP 3.
Also, before you go ahead, do a BACKUP of all your important data, as it will CERTAINLY be lost when unlocking the bootloader (this does not count for inserted microSD cards, but just to be safe, remove the microSD or backup your data somewhere else, like your PC or a cloud service).
One more heads-up: You NEED a USB-C Cable that you can connect to your PC, otherwise this guide will be useless for you. Also, all my commands listed in the upcomming guide are listed with " ", but ignore these when entering the commands in the Command Prompts.
STEP 1:
1: As for every Android phone, you need an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP (and also ROOT, etc).
-1.1: Download the Motorola USB Drivers HERE, and the ADB Fastboot Driver/Tool HERE.
-1.2: Install the Motorola USB Drivers first, then install the ADB All-In-One Tool after that (When installing the ADB AIO, choose yes for all options).
-1.3: On your Moto Z, enable Developer Options by going into the Phone Settings, then the last "About Phone" option, and then scroll to the bottom where it says "Build Number". Tap that "bar" 7 times until it says that you unlocked the Developer Options menu.
-1.4: Go back into the Main Settings Menu of your Phone, and then right above the "About Phone", should be an option called "{ } Developer Options". Go in there, and right in the beginning is an option called "OEM unlocking". Enable that option (when it asks you for your PIN/Password/Pattern, just enter it).
-1.5: Scroll just a little further down in the Developer Options menu, and you will see a section called "Debugging", in which the first option is called "USB debugging". Enable that option as well.
-1.6: Now put your Moto Z into Fastboot Mode. You can do this either by connecting your Moto Z to the PC, then open a Command Prompt (look in Windows for CMD), and type "adb reboot bootloader", OR by turning your Moto Z completely off, and then turning it back on WHILE holding BOTH the Volume Down and Power Button (if your Moto Z turns off all the time, the second the Phone vibrates, let go off the buttons).
-1.7: Now that your Phone is in Fastboot Mode, you will have to connect it to your PC by a USB-C cable. If you have done that, open a Command Prompt in Windows (again, by typing CMD in the Windows Start Search), and type this: "fastboot oem get_unlock_data"
-1.8: You will end up getting a result that will look a little like this (the numbers do NOT work for you, don't try them for steps required later on):
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) 0A40040192024205#4C4D3556313230
(bootloader) 30373731363031303332323239#BD00
(bootloader) 8A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F95
(bootloader) 1A3E5#1F53280002000000000000000
(bootloader) 0000000
-1.9: Copy the entire string you just got from the Command Prompt, and put it into any kind of Text Field or Text Editor. Remove the bootloader part, and also everything else, like [Info] or the likes, and same goes for empty spaces. The only thing you should be left with looks like this: 0A40040192024205#4C4D355631323030373731363031303332323239#BD008A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F951A3E5#1F532800020000000000000000000000
-1.10: Now you go to THIS website to get the Unlock Code for your Phone (You will have to register at Motorola to be able to get the Unlock Code. It is easier if you just use Google+, it is much faster and you can skip the entire register process). There will be instructions there as well to guide you for how to enter the code, just in case you misunderstood my guide.
-1.11: Once you registered and entered the code, click the blue button below called "Can my device be unlocked?". Once Motorola confirms that your Moto Z can be unlocked, you click the "I agree" option, and then the "Request unlock key" button.
-1.12: You will get a pop-up telling you about it voiding your warranty, click "OK" on that one as well.
-1.13: Now, Motorola will tell you that they sent you the unlock code for your device to the E-Mail you registered with, so go and check your E-Mail account for that code.
-1.14: Copy the unlock code, go back to that Command Prompt (in case you closed it, open a new one), and enter this: "fastboot oem unlock UNLOCK_CODE_HERE" <<<< Where the UNLOCK_CODE_HERE means that you will have to replace this with the unlock key from your E-Mail.
-1.15: Now click ENTER, and your device will be Unlocked. After this, your device SHOULD reboot automatically, but if not, pick the REBOOT option in the Fastboot Mode Menu, and click the Power Button to confirm. From now on, every time you start your Phone, you will be greeted with the Unlocked Warning screen, but that is ok, nothing stopping your Phone from working or the likes.
-1.16: Let your Moto Z fully boot up, and when you have done that, shut it down again, and go back into Fastboot Mode using the above mentioned button combination.
-1.17: At this you will have to download the TWRP Recovery Image. You can find this for the Moto Z HERE, or HERE.
-1.18: Rename the downloaded file to just twrp.img, then go back to your Command Prompt (or open a new one), and enter this: "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
-1.19: Now let the RECOVERY be flashed, and then in the Fastboot Menu on your Moto Z, use the Volume Keys to navigate up and down, and navigate to "RECOVERY". Use the Power Button to confirm that option, and let it boot into the TWRP RECOVERY. Once you have done that, in TWRP, pick the Reboot option, and click the "System" button, so that the RECOVERY boots into the normal Android OS.
Congratulations, that was step 1 (and all its detailed sub-steps).
Now to STEP 2:
2: As the Moto Z has its entire storage and OS fully force-encrypted, we have to fix that. There are two ways, but as of now, i recommend the best one, as the other one is a bit hard to do unless you are a bit more tech-savvy.
-2.1: You will have to download the currently only actual ROM for the Moto Z from XDA user @janjan . You can find the download HERE. Download the corresponding US or EU version, depending on where you bought your device.
-2.2: I will have to mention here shortly, that the ROM you are about to install currently has one issue, which its severity depends on how much you currently need that "feature". The developer @janjan is working hard to fix, so you might want to wait in case you are disturbed by that "feature" not working. What is that feature you ask? Moto Mods. Some work, some don't, and the Incipio Battery Pack is one of those that do not work. If you can live with this issue until it is fixed, there is nothing stopping you from installing this ROM, but if you feel that you absolutely cannot live without it, then you might want to stop at this point and return when the issue has been fixed.
-2.3: So if you have decided to continue, then congratulations. To continue, you will have to enter the TWRP RECOVERY. Do NOT set up your Phone, as everything will be Wiped once more. So just enter the RECOVERY through the Bootloader (Fastboot). Shut down the Phone, hold the Volume Down and Power Button, wait for the Fastboot Menu to come up, navigate with the Volume Down Key to the RECOVERY option and confirm with the Power Button.
-2.4: Now connect your Phone to your PC with the USB-C Cable, and then go into the "Mount" menu. There it will let you open your Phone storage like on normal Android through MTP. Find the ROM .zip file you downloaded earlier, and put it somewhere in your Phones storage, like the Download folder, or create a new Folder you can easily recognize.
-2.5: If you have transferred the ROM .zip to your Phone, go back to the Main Menu, and pick the "Wipe" option (upper right). Now just Swipe the blue button to the right to do a full Factory Reset.
-2.6: Once it is done with the Factory Reset, go back to the Main Menu, and pick the "Install" (upper left, first option) option. Now navigate to where you uploaded your ROM .zip file, and then click that file once you have found it. Swipe to the right again to Flash the ROM.
-2.7: When it has finished flashing the ROM, Reboot the device, and you do that either by clicking "Reboot" (button to the lower right) right after the ROM has been flashed, or going back to the Main Menu and using the Reboot option.
-2.8: The Phone WILL take a good while to boot, so give it at least 10-15 minutes. If nothing happens by then, hold the Power Button to turn your Phone off and check the steps again and see if you did something wrong. If it did boot successfully, then take the time to setup your Phone, Language, Login Methods, etc.
And congratulations again, this was step 2. At this point you are done with all the time consuming things.
This is the last step, STEP 3:
3: I recommend that you install XPOSED BEFORE installing Viper4Android, as i found problems doing it the other way around. In case you thought about installing the XPOSED Framework, do that FIRST, NOT after having installed V4A.
-3.1: The only working version of Viper4Android i found is the ViperAtmos Universal Edition. You can download it directly HERE, or check the thread HERE (downloads are in the bottom. Remember to download the "ViPERAtmos 4.8 Sony Beats Universal Edition" .zip file).
-3.2: You will also have to download the SELinuxModeChanger app, with the direct link HERE, or the thread HERE.
-3.3: Now you push/transfer the downloaded files to your Moto Z, either by Cable or Wireless, the way you do it is up to you, but put it somewhere where you will find the files easily, like the Downloads folder.
-3.4: Now on your Moto Z download any file manager, go to the directory you pushed the files in, and install the SELinuxModeChanger.apk file. Open the app, give it full ROOT permissions, and then pick the "Permissive" option. Now reboot your device once, and it will automatically set SELinux to Permissive every time you boot your Moto Z (you can choose to let it notify you when it changes the mode).
-3.5: Reboot your Moto Z into the RECOVERY (steps found above). Here you go directly to the "Install" option, navigate to where you put your ViperAtmos .zip file, and install it by Swiping to the right. Do NOT pick the option to clear cache and dalvik/ART, i had problems with this the last time, and V4A wouldn't work (if you feel for it, then you can try clearing cache and dalvik/ART, but i found out that it works just fine not doing any of that).
-3.6: Reboot your Moto Z into the normal Android OS, and now you are done. Remember to check in the SELinuxModeChanger if the mode is set to Permissive, because if it is not, then Viper4Android (ViperAtmos) will crash your Phone, so make sure that is set.
Now you are done installing Viper4Android using the Universal Edition from ViperAtmos, well done!
If you have found any spelling mistakes in my guide and are absolutely annoyed by it/them, then tell me please!
Ok, have a good one everyone!
Really a GREAT guide...

oi guys!
so for now i might be alone on this, but i am certain that some few of you have wondered on how to get viper4android to work on the moto z without flaws.
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data

Lenovo K6 VIBE No OS Installed, Only TWRP but can't find stock ROM

Hello guys I hope you had a good day.
I recently tried to root my device but it didn't work and got into a loop boot. Later I wiped /system and /cache and some other important parts [Because of my lack of experience with phones] , Now the phone is OS-Less. I tried to search for a Stock ROM for 3 days but couldn't. Now I just have TWRP. What should I do? I just want anything that works right now, no specific needs.
EDIT: I also have Fastboot installed as well.
Thanks for helping me.
That's why you always do a backup before doing such dangerous things, bre. You should be ok by following @firemax13 "restore to factory state" guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/lenovo-vibe-k6-note-guide-rooting-t3602763 (of course you should jump the unroot part and start at "turn the phone to download mode".

1.UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
!If the phone perfoms a bootloader unlock, a factory reset will be perfomed automatically. So you will have to backup your data to a sdcard or to the pc.!
Step 1.1 and 1.4 are hanging together. They can be skipped with no worries, but I would recommend to do it. !THIS IS NOT A FULL BACKUP!
1.1 [OPTIONAL]BACKING UP PHONE SETTINGS:
1.1.1 Download and install Hisuite on your pc: http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/HiSuite_en/
1.1.2 Connect your pc with your phone
1.1.3a If you see a pop up like this, then choose transfer files and skip Step 1.1.3b
1.1.3b Go to your Notifications on your phone. There will be a settings notification. Press on it and select File transfer via USB.
1.1.4 On your phone go to Settings -> Security & privacy -> More -> and turn on allow Hisuite to use HDB (image)
1.1.5 The phone may ask you to trust the pc. Select always trust this pc (image)
1.1.6 Go to settings -> System -> About phone -> and press about 10 times on the build number.
1.1.7 Go to settings -> System -> Developer Options -> and turn on USB debugging (image)
1.1.8 Open Hisuite on pc
1.1.9 Choose Backup and select everything. Don't password protect it.
1.2 OBTAINING THE UNLOCK CODE
Everything you see below in pink does not work anymore since Huawei has officially stopped providing the bootloader unlock code on their website.
Instead please use this thread for obtaining your bootloader unlock code: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/how-to-unlock-huawei-bootloader-removal-t3780903
1.2.1 Go to this website and press Unlock
1.2.2 Register a huawei id or login
1.2.3 Follow the steps until you see this page
1.2.4 Choose Since Emui 5.0
1.2.5 Fill out the rest of the information. (The IMEI can be found at settings -> System -> About Phone)
1.2.6 Press Commit. If every info was put in correct, A yellow message should appear saying: "Your unlocking password is: ..." Copy the code somewhere safe on your pc.
1.3 UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
1.3.1 Download Minimal ADB and fastboot for your operating system. For windows 32 and 64bit: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569952951
1.3.2 install and open the folder where you installed it to.
1.3.3 Run fastboot.exe and adb.exe once

I've tried to get the unlock code from the site for three days to no avail. It always just redirects to front page as there doesn't seem to be any unlock page anymore. So if anyone has any better luck with this please share

Yes I'm sorry that I am replying so late.
So noone really knows if it is going to come back, but here's what you can do:
1: Go to this site. Scroll down. Choose your country. Call the hotline. Give them the required info. They will send you the unlock-code via Email. I tried it with the German Number and they send it to me without a problem.
2: Try emailing the support from Honor or Huawei.
3: Try out this Thread. You will have to pay about 4 EUR ($5).

Try calling different phone numbers. Some are willing to give you the unlock and some not. I think they also don't know whats really going on with the site etc. But as of right now the 3 ways mentioned above, are the only ways to get the unlock code. Maybe the Unlock site at https://emui.huawei.com/ will come back some time.
Thank you for writing this tutorial, it's really helpful to have all steps in one place to know what to do.
If you could include how to revert back to the locked bootloader with stock firmware, that can be sent back to Huawei for warranty repairs, that would be great!
Best,
Chris

1. Go this thread and download the Mount-Magisk.zip
2. Move it somewhere to your phone. (If you are unable to boot to system connect phone to PC. Reboot phone to twrp. Open a adb window on the PC. In twrp go to advanced. Start the adb sideload. Press on cancel and then on back. Move the Mount-Magisk.zip into your adb folder on the pc. In the cmd type adb push Mount-Magisk.zip /external_sd or which ever path you like. )
3. Boot to twrp.
4. Go to Install and choose the Mount-Magisk.zip . Flash it. After flash press on back.
5. Go to Advanced -> File Manager. At the very top/root of your system should now be a folder called Magisk. Open the folder. The next folders also should include your Modules. Hold the folder of the module and delete it.
6. Reboot and everything should be fixed.
Let me know if it worked! :good:
Just to let everyone know. The unlock page is back. :highfive::laugh::laugh::laugh: Happy Unlocking :good::victory::victory::victory:

So if I unlock bootloader, and then root my device then i won't receive any OTA update anymore... but how can I deal with this situation in order to re-lock when it's OTA time and unlock again when I got it?
ps. No OTA means only no firmware or it means also no security patches ??

In case of Honor devices, to a certain point you are still getting ota updates. To check on the newest updates download the app Huawei Firmware Finder. Then follow the HuRUpdate Thread to update to the newest firmware without unrooting.
hi, magisk automatically closes after about 3 seconds, how can I solve this problem?

Issue Magisk FC , when you open Magisk , go direct on 'About' .
This will keep it open.
Some solutions should be on official section for Magisk

Hi! I'm currently attempting to complete step 2.1, but I've run into a problem.. I've completed all the 1.-steps and added the twrp & kernel img-files to the adb folder, but when I attempt to use cmd fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk stf-twrp-zxz-0.3.img, I just get the response waiting for any device, and then nothing else happens. Any suggestions?
