Hey guys!
I was wondering, I bought my nexus 5 in UK, could i take it to other countries(mainly european), change the SIM card to one of that country and still have access to mobile networks(including 4G)?
Thanks!

Hey. I have a Nexus 5 32GB that was bought in the US. I'm using it at Lithuania and it works very great. We don't use 4G on mobile phones yet, but 3G works perfect.

Assuming that you bought a D821, which is the international version, it should work anywhere.

to mention also that in some eu countries the lte signal covers only the central geografic areas as capitals and big cities

"Bad ESN" means that it's (most likely) been reported stolen, and it's been blacklisted at the provider. Changing SIM-card won't work.
It's probably the NS4G which is Sprint only (hence why it has a bad esn)
and on the other hand, every gsm version of the nexus s should work fine in the uk.
I have got a uk model now

Hi all, I want to buy n5 in south korea next week. I want to take it home in Indonesia unlocked, and I read in some websites that said that most of the phones there are contracted in 1-2 years.
so what I want to ask is: do they have place to buy phone freely(without contract) and unlocked(which means I can use it in Indonesia :laugh ?
thanks!
Nexus phones are always unlocked. And you can use Google play to buy the phone "freely".

Hello, I am going to buy this Nexus 5 in U.S. (NY) next week.
What should I know befor buying it? I am not from U.S. (from Israel).
What should I check or ensure?
I am going to buy it from T-MOBILT by the way.
Thank' guys!
You should know that you'll be buying the wrong version for use in Israel. There's two versions of the Nexus, one for North America (D820) and one for the rest of the world (D821), the difference being the radio bands that are supported, specifically the LTE bands. So while a North American model will work oversees for voice and 3G data, it won't for work 4G, as it doesn't support the proper bands.
Everything he said^^^^^^^. Also you should check out a few review videos on YouTube to get an idea of what the Nexus 5 has to offer.

why would i, as an american, need to generally buy a phone that is meant for European countries?
the US uses different LTE bands than the European countries, so thats why the hardware (note: radio only bands only) is different.

You want the D821. Everything in the US will be the D820
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using XDA Free mobile app
The D820 could be fine depending upon where you want to use it internationally. You'd have to research the countries of interest and the bands that are included in the US version of the phone to be sure.
If you get the international model I do not think LTE will be available in the US only HSPA+

Thanks Simona,
Just to confirm, its TL10 not 9. Also, does LTE CAT6 work?
I will be looking to buy a prepaid Sim for 1 week usage, any recommendations?

Dont worry i know i have 9
yeah all cat 6 .. you won't even use it bcos your OP doesn't support it (LTE-A)
I have 3UK payg and every month top up 15 quid and buy package addon 15 which has unlimited internet , 300 min and 3 grand sms
Thanks,
You said you have 9 and I have 10, I would assume it should work.
The reason I am asking because I tried it U.S and even the the 3.5g/H didn't work, I don't want to end up with nonfunctional Sim.

Yup, my previous post had a speed test result but I only got the app supporting up to 50mb, I am on PAYG plan so you can check if there's another app that can do CAT6 speed(s).
Attached is my network status, when I enabled CAT6 I was able to surf, disabled it later since I am on 2GB for 7 days visit.

I got it for around 330 GBP/493 USD few months back around the beginning of this year. I purchased from Oman in Middle East, 32GB gold. For me its good enough. My previous phones were Nexus S, Nexus 4, LG G2. I think its good value for money and got some good tools to help you keep your phone healthy.
