Been experiencing slight lagging when running some light to medium intensive apps, like Flipboard, Newsstand or PvZ 2. Is it due to the Snapdragon throttling down to prevent temperature spike? Anyone ezperiencing this?
It throttles down when "hot"

Charging the battery causes the phone to heat up. The more the phone is doing during that time the hotter it will get (above average usage) and more likely for CPU throttling to occur.
Try disabling as many background apps and processes as you can to reduce the phone's current draw while charging. You can also have it charge faster and cooler in Airplane mode but of course many apps would not be usable then.

Hello!
So I read on "Manga watcher" app alot and I believe recently my device heat up extreamly everytime I use the app, it sometimes reaches 108F but often it doeasnt reach more than 106F. Is this a problem other then that my hands get warm when holding it? (thank god I bought the keyboard)
Is your tab overclocked or do you use an overclocking kernel?

No, it is normal under a heavy load. The reason that you feel warm is because the back of your device is aluminum which is a great material for heat sink or heat transfer. It is a good thing that heat is not building up a round the CPU and GPU :good:

Does reading on Manga Watcher constitute a heavy load? I don't know the app, but reading should not heat up the tab like that.
I would investigate further.

Hehe, just reading Manga Watcher is not a heavy load. However, if another 38 third party apps actively running at the same time that you can not kill excluded system apps. I think that it is on the heavy side. Those information that I got from another post from this person right below this post. I have a few free games that constantly upload and download advertisements in my notification bar. I hate that but it is free. Maybe I am wrong, just try to help.
Well it only over heats when i use the manga watcher app so it has to be a connection, and I watch alot of youtube and movies with my device. Oh well as long as it doesnt dmg the cpu or anything i can live with it.

Probably heating up as the GPU is being used for rendering and is in overdrive..? Is it the top left corner? If so it's the GPU.

GPU and CPU are the same chip.

Yep and I'll wager it's the GPU usage that is heating it up.
The heat dont emit from any particular space and i dont use any overclocking
What the bloody hell is 108F?....
Oh, only 42ºC? That's not overheating..... That's actually fairly normal for any active CPU/GPU (For an active GPU it's actually rather cold.). I wish my GPU in my laptop stayed at 42ºC.....
The reason it feel so hot is because the device's case is metal. Metal transfers heat exceptionally well.
No, video players don't cause a heat increase for me either, not even after 15 hours of 1080p LOTR Bluray. But anything by Kairosoft turns my tab into a heater.
Well at 108F the device is warning me its overheating. I use battery booster lite to get the information.
Most definitely not over heating at 42 degrees c, the device shuts down at over 80 degrees I believe. I've seen mine get as hot as 60 degrees which is warm.
Okay well if 42c is normal then i am really glad i bought the keyboard thx everyone!
Anyone else have an issue when attempting a benchmark where Antutu causes the phone to power off and or reboot? I have tried 3 installs, and 4 attempts to get a benchmark results, all ending in reboot or powering off
Usually means not enough voltage supplied for cpu frequency. Undervolting?

no, for antutu it means that your phone is getting too hot and hitting the safety shutdown temp. cool down your phone before benchmarking. hitting the safety shutdown temp with antutu is very easy to do.
hi all im just newbie who just got this devices and after intense use why my battery always overheated ? im just browse some pagesband playing games. im using a softcase. my rom is stock roited with elementalx kernel
any help will be appreciated

Define "overheating", as in the actual battery temperature. Not "it feels hot".

That doesn't tell us anything. Get an actual battery temperature reading, not what you think it feels like. Most kernel apps should tell you.

I don't pay attention to it myself since I know it isn't overheating. Various kernel apps should give you a reading, hell even Antutu Benchmark tells you your battery temperature in Device Info.
Also, when your battery reaches 60C (or 65C, forgot which of the two), your phone will force shut itself off. Chances are, you're not even feeling much heat from the battery, the CPU usually produces more heat before the battery can even reach that high (some kernels have battery shutdown disabled anyways). The CPU starts throttling at around 60C CPU temp (NOT battery temp), and force shuts down at 105C. Clearly, "warm" is no issue at all.

I game a lot on my phone. Anyone know if I will get better gaming performance having MSM MPDecision Hotplug and Temperature Throttle off? Will it be safe?

I don't know about hotplug but if you like gaming then disabling Temperature Throttle would probably result in harming the device after continued use, it is designed to reduce the power drawn by the processor, without that it can overheat.

When I plug my phone to solar cell power saving mode automaticly turns off and the speed of discharge increases severalfold.
How to prevent cpu always on when phone charging?

I don't have this variant but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants.
