Hi all:
As far as I heard that the Dual SIM version of Moto G is only support for 3G+2G. I would like to ask whether if we can choose which SIM to run on 3G by simply changing the option on setting, rather than we have to plug the SIM card on the dedicated SIM slot (e.g. SIM 1 or SIM 2) in order to ensure that we can enjoy 3G network on a certain SIM card?
May I ask if anyone who is using the Dual SIM version of Moto G and check this out for me, Please?
Thanks in advance!

Yes!
Only the first sim slot supports 3G network(also 2G) but the second sim slot supports only 2G.
You can use 3G services only in sim one.

That's what I am afraid of!
I'll prefer that it can choose 3G/2G mode by selecting the mode on setting rather than by the SIM card slot! Otherwise, I would have to swap the cards in order to get the thing done!!! Also, there is another drawback by choosing the 3G mode by the SIM slot. Since you have to swap the cards in order to use 3G mode on one of the sim card, you may have to re-certified your whatsapp/line once you are swapping your card!! That's pretty troublesome for users!!
Anyway, thanks for your help!!

Hello all
i have a verizon 3g xoom. it's not upgraded yet. i live outside us
about the UK 3g xoom, can it operate 2g sim card? for sms, gprs or ...
how about normal 3g sim cards?
is there any hardware difference between mine and uk one?
may i operate my 2g sim card on my xoom? how about 3g?
when i put sim card nothing happen. i just tried 2g sim card
our 3g operator is not started selling sim cards ... but we have 4g operator.
if i install uk xoom's rom on my own, can i use sim card?
is there any mini pci-e card that i can use my sim card with it? (self upgrade xoom with custom mini-pci-e)
please help me. i need some information. i'm confused.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263634
how about this thread? i've done that but dont work for me. there is no signal, i think it didnt recognized my sim card.
if i install the mini-pci-e card that motorola installs on xoom during upgrade, can i use sim card for 2g/3g ? (sms or internet)
i have found this : "If you bought your Xoom from Verizon, it will have no SIM card slot. Verizon's CDMA network doesn't use SIM cards. Also, if you bought the Verizom model, it will only work on Verizon, and not another carrier. There is also a WiFi-Only Xoom, and it does not have a SIM slot."
here : "http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/53440/Why+I+can%27t+find+3G+SIM+Slot+in+my+Motorola+Xoom"
but mine have sim slot with a plastic sim on it.
The Verizon 3G Xoom does have a sim card slot but no hardware inside to read the sim card. That is what the 4G upgrade was for, to install the hardware necessary to utilize the sim card for the Verizon 4G LTE network.
I don't know if anyone has gotten a Verizon Xoom working on any other carriers network.
Theres pix of the inside of my Uk3g Zoom somewhere...
I know Moto G supports 3G+2G. But Whenever I insert my SIM in 2nd slot. I get a message to insert it in the 1st slot to use 3G.
My question is can I use 3G on both the SIM slot or just one.
Thanks in advance
As far as I know just one...
I am looking at maybe getting a dual sim phone and I was thinking of use the second sim slot to get a prepaid card for data only for better coverage. Does anyone use their dual sim feature? Do you use it how I want to use mine? What is your backup data sim (there doesn't seem to be any that you can buy data for a sim and not have it expire.)
I have an European model U11 Plus, Dual-SIM, 6GB, 128 GB, and just goat a second SIM card.
I see in the settings that the secons SIM can only be configured as 3G, no 4G option.
Is this true or am I missing a setting ? Was expecting both SIMs to be 4G.

you can not run both SIMs in 4G mode.
When you have two nano SIM cards inserted on your phone, only one card can connect to the faster 4G LTE network. The other card will connect to the 3G/2G network.

Indeed, what is already an improvement over the older phones who where 'stuck' on 2G only even when only the second SIM was activated (and so the first SIM disabled).
For the U11+ if you disable the first SIM automatically the second SIM will be able to work even with 4G+.
But it shouldn't matter since if two SIMs activated you can run the data over the other SIM. Unless you want to try VoLTE for your second SIM phone number.?
Hi there,
I have an Oppo Find X5 Lite which is dual sim. I have two sim cards.
Sim card 1: New Zealand on 2degrees
Sim card 2: Australia on Telstra
I travel regularly between both countries. When I'm on WiFi, both sim cards register as WiFi calling which is great, however when I'm out and about in either country, one of the sim cards is always in roaming.
I'm wondering if it's ever been possible for VoLTE of the overseas SIM card to work over the data of the local SIM card.
It's a feature that Apple has on their iPhones but I can't seem to find much about it for Android.
Hopefully someone has a hack I can use to get this to work.
Thanks all!
