I'm currently running a encryptet samsung tab 10.2 P-5100 and want to decrypt/format the tablet.
I'm running cyanogenmod cm-10.2-20131224-NIGHTLY-p5100
I have tried the following and failed to decrypt:
pressed the reset to factory button in CM.
in CWM (ver 6.0.1.2) Wipe data\Factory.
in TWRP (ver 2.6.3.0) Wipe data\Factory.
odin+ stock rom.
the tablet still want the encryptet password before it starts up.
any one have an idea what to try next.
On what ROM you encrypted the tab? Why don't you know your password?

Hi all,
i managed to flash my P6200, i've tried
CyanogenMod 10 by aorth (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842090)
I'm using CWM v5 (and now 6), and now i'm stuck with the bootloop (boot unfinished restarted around 5 times or so then it successfully goes into cyanogenmod logo screen and stuck forever), i've tried to rewipe and install the mod and also redownload the mod, it doesn't work at all
i also looked at:
Paranoid Android v2.5 by Androguide.fr (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941615) got the new download link but also stuck in bootloop
is there any available download links or so?
EDIT:
now i'm using CWM 6 and still got bootload any help?
I haven't tried to flash Cyano, but I know the only safe CWM should be 6.0.1.0

okay i gave then i'll try it with CWM 6
tried with CWM 6 and still not working... is there any advance setting that i'm missing?
Here's what i do:
1. Wipe data
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. install ROM
5. install Gapps
6. Reboot
There's mount and storage setting that i don't quite understand, is there something to do with it?
UPDATE: I Finally solved it...
I installed stock ICS from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777303&highlight=stock
with Odin (having bad luck with crashing / not detecting Heimdall :crying
It finally boot...!!! and i got ICS..!!! well, i don't stop, next:
Reinstall CWM 6, Backup, Wipe-wipe-wipe, install Paranoid Android v2.50 and Voila...!!!
it boot correctly... maybe i'll try cyanogen soon after updating this PA and done backing up...
Sorry for troubling and hopefully it helps others...
I have flashed both aorth's CM10 and PA, both work fine. However, aorth's CM10 is much better, battery life etc. Make sure to backup and do full wipes if switching between different ROMs. If just upgrading to new aorth CM10s or new PAs from previous versions, cache and dalvik wipes are all that's needed.

Hello,
experts, I'm sorry, but I was not able to find answer to my question, so I ask here. I have encrypted ASUS Transformer TF300T running stock Android 4.1.1. Bootloader is unlocked and I was able to install there CWM. But the device is encrypted, so that I'm not able to replace stock ROM with CyanogenMod. Even when I perform factory reset in Android, nothing happens. In CWM I can only wipe /cache, but not /data. Backup of ROM using CWM is also impossible. I looked at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894it867 but it doesn't work with JB. I tried http://0xfeedface.org/blog/lattera/2012-06-04/installing-cm9-encrypted-android-tablet but it also doesn't work (http://0xfeedface.org/blog/lattera/2012-06-04/installing-cm9-encrypted-android-tablet#comment-92). So, please, is there any way how to get CM to my TF?
Thank You in advance!
How exactly is it encrypted?
Have you tried going through android settings and attempt to decrypt it?

I used encryption in security settings, part of Android 4. There is no possibility to decrypt it. Even when I push original firmware using fastboot, nothing changes.
Fixed
OK, about 3rd factory reset did the work. After then I was able to install CM10.
hello,
I've installed Dhollmen kernel 20130722 on top of a Cyanogenmod 10.1.2.
The recovery is PhilZ Touch build 5.05.0 p5100 (CWM base 6.0.3.2).
All works fine, but my troubles begin when I try to password-encrypt the tablet (Settings -> Security -> Encrypt tablet).
The encryption process requires a restart, but then the Cyanogenmod logo appears and begins to roll and nothing else happens!
After two hours the logo still rolls.... at this point I did a reset and newly performed a clean install of CM 10.1.2 to get back a working tablet.
Note: if I install only CM 10.1.2 (that is, without changing his official kernel), the Encryption process completes successfully, so I wonder if the problems are related to the Dhollmen kernel.
However, since I truly love this kernel, I would like to use it, but I cannot renounce to encryption (for security reasons).
Any idea?

Ask the dev :cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:
I apologize, the problem doesn’t concern Dhollmen kernel, I’ve tried to install another kernel (Blackhawk) over CM and the issue was always the same: bootloop when trying to encrypt.
It’s clear that I’m doing something wrong, but I don’t know what!
In doubt, I’ve tried to start from a “clean” state; from CWM 6.0.2.7:
1. Format “/data/” and “/data/media/”
2. Format “/cache/”
3. Format “/preload/”
4. Format “/system/”
5. Flashed CM 10.1.2 (from external sd)
6. Flashed google apps (from external sd)
7. Flashed kernel (from external sd)
When I restart the tablet all seems to work fine, but when I try to encrypt… bootloop!
I’ve tried to connect the tablet to the PC to verify if logcat can help, but the device wasn’t detected at all...
At this point I’ve tried some variants (I’m desperate, I know ):
- I did a prudential reboot into CM after flashing it, and before flashing the new kernel.
- I’ve flashed CM, encrypted the tablet (encryption is successful with original CM kernel), and only after encryption I’ve tried to flash the new kernel.
- I’ve tried with: CM 10.1, 10.1.2 and 10.1.3rc2
… but the result is always… bootloop.
Any idea? What am I missing?
EDIT: I've installed a nightly version of CM 10.2, then Dhollmen custom kernel.
Encryption process ended successfully.
As suggested by tuxafgmur, there was some incompatibilities between CM 10.1 and his kernel, that can be solved only upgrading to CM 10.2.
I have the original ASUS Transformer and have been having issues. I have tried a 4.3.1 rom and a couple 4.2.2 ROMs. All have the same problem. For some reason after flashing the ROM and the proper GAPPS, the talet cannot be restarted. The ASUS screen comes up and then either a black screen will popup and the tablet will reboot, or the tablet will be stuck in a loop on the ROMs logo screen.
Not sure what is going on. Ideas?
Thanks

TWRP 2.3.2.3. Latest fro GooManager. I tried the unofficial newer build in the Dev forums...but I could no flash CM 10.2 so had to go to the older official version
Strange...
tell me about it
CM 10 at 4.2.1 seems to be working fine. Odd but it will do. My mom's tablet and she wont know the difference.
By chance did you *not* format after you did the wipe?
Hey there,
i've got a problem, don't know how serious it is. i recently installed cm12.1 for the p900 wifi, then decided to test cm11 for there were several bugs and i needed a stable rom. bein in cm12.1 still i encrypted the device. unfortunately i didn't set a password before flashing cm11. now, after flashing the older rom (cm11) i receive a password prompt before i can enter the OS. well, that password has never been set and i seem to be stuck.
my question: how can i reset everything (format partition) to a "blank state" and make a fresh install of cm11?
thanks in advance,
andi
