Will the custom ROMs here work on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3113)???
Sent from my GT-P3113 using xda app-developers app
Yes. Actually all the p3xxx Roms work on the 3113 but the 3110 ones are most compatible.

You can update with the Samsung update tool and the kdz.
I can't link atm but if you Google "gtab 2.7 4.2.2 kdz" it should come up pretty easily.

Thanks guys. I've decided to ditch the Samsung official software and go straight for the 4.3 slimbean ROM.

Yes, however the only way to get this update from Verizon has been if you purchased or received a GSIII with an updated sticker on the box. It hasn't been pushed as an OTA yet though.

I got a S3 today and it has G1 on it. I would be listed under received for free, becuase the ICS OTA update killed flash player on my razr.
I wish I knew G1 Vs old build, but so far every thing has been good. ( That GPS is very fast and it hold's on to 4G well + wifi works very well. I have never seen a phone get that kind of speed from wifi.)

I wouldn't bother. F2 is better. Has full search functionality and other than that there is no noticeable difference. I actually got an "updated" one and rolled back to F2.

When you say VRLF2, VRLG1, etc... are you referring to the baseband? VRLF2 is my baseband version but reading these posts, it sounds like you are talking about the version of ROM.
In the Synergy thread, it says "ICS 4.0.4 - Latest I535VRALG1 Base". I have Synergy installed but my baseband is VRLF2. Are these two different things?
Thanks

Yes they are different and you can flash the updated g1 baseband (radio/modem) using Odin even if you are locked and unrooted because it is Samsung official.

First on Kies... after a few days, it'll probably be OTA aswell. But I'm sure all of us hope for it to be available on Kies.. Or else we'll have to unroot or wait for someone to create an ICS stock ROM for us or something.

Officially I do not thin 4.2 will be out anytime soon personally I do not like the UI of 4.2 as it is phone oriented and not tablet
For the new users I would suggest wait for the CM stable release to come out before you install it Nightly will have issues
You will likely never see official stable for this device or any other exynos4 device due to lack of cooperation from Samsung.
It's perfectly usable for 90%+ of people, but some of the issues with it are major for some... Like if you need HDMI output, you won't be seeing it any time soon, same for Samsung's wired keyboard since all of the developers have Bluetooth keyboards.

I hope the rumors from sam mobile about getting 4.2 or even 5.0 are true. After all... It is a very powerful device and it deserves some goodness. ... And so do we!
I'd prefer an official update...because of tw framework. I like cm a lot, i would flash it any time. but it is not so functional on this baby.
maybe soon?
The Galaxy tab 2 and the note 8 got 4.2.2 this week so who we could be soon perhaps. Although the rumor mill (sam mobile) says that Samsung might just skip to 4.3 for some higher end devices.
Just saw this while searching for update for my SCH-i715:
"Samsung and Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, SU1 SW Version, I915VRBMA3, for your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. This update includes an upgrade to the Android Operating System 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
http://samsung.com/us/mobileupdates/vzw/i915
This update will address the following:
OS upgrade to Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)"

If they were the same then the root method for the p5100 should work on the sch-i915. Since it doesn't I have to believe they aren't the same and I would not risk it.

If you've ever caught yourself thinking "I don't have enough paperweights" then go ahead and do it! Otherwise no don't flash stuff that isn't compatible, especially since there are no stock images available to restore if it's messed up.

Yep I know that. Never been a fan of flashing ROMs anyway. I'm fine with stock rooted. It runs better and I get amazing battery life with the zerolemon

I followed the steps and was able to get root on 4.3 just fine as well. Thanks to everyone for helping me with that.
I do have a question....it might very well be a dumb question but I'm asking anyway,
I've installed Titanium backup and I have the update.zip that I created prior to reverting to stock and then taking the OTA. From what I understand I can't use custom recovery, which was the only way I knew how to flash that update.zip to restore my apps+data. So, how do I flash this update.zip with root on 4.3? Is this still possible?
Thanks again to all for the help.
Saferoot worked for me (its a method designed for galaxy s4). Although I wouldn't recommend it. It may or may not have been the cause of a hard brick for me, but I tried unlocking the bootloader after using it, which is probably what threw it.

No. Once you took the ota you lost the ability to flash other ROMs. Unless one of the Dev's cracks the lock bootloader or finds a way around.
