RSD Lite and the Moto G - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm wondering if any of you have been able to successfully flash the Moto G with stock firmware using RSD Lite. I am able to have RSD Lite recognize the phone by entering fastboot and choosing the last option (BP tools). The phone then reboots into Android and then RSD LIte sees it. From there I try to flash the rom, and it reboots the phone back into fastboot mode but it doesn't do anything from there; it just hangs.
Do any of you know how to do this? If you could please help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Why not just use fastboot?
It's not that complicated

where can I download bootloader 2.37 sbf for droid 2?

phone says corrupt code bootloader d0.11. RSD lite can't successfully flash sbf file to phone. Sticks at switching to bp passthrough mode. I'm thinking I need to reload the bootloader. I've seen links to the download but they are all broken. Can someone provide me one that works?

You have to put the phone in fastboot mode before trying to use RSD lite, to recover. If you do not know how to do that please look in the noob thread or search, as this has been covered a million times now.

You have tried what? We need a ton more information from you please. Be as specific as possible.
For instance did you get into fastboot mode?
Did windows try and install drivers for the phone in fastboot mode?
What version of firmware are you attempting to flash in RSD lite?
What version of RSD lite are you using?
Were you ever able to use RSD lite before?
Have you uninstalled the motorola drivers and reinstalled them?
Any other pertinent information will be helpful.

[Q] xt925 actually stuck in AP Fastboot mode

I have been rooting for about a year now, albeit largely with Samsung devices via Odin and CWM Recovery. I now have a Verizon Motorola RAZR HD (xt925) and have been unsuccessful with unlocking the bootloader. I decided to use Safestrap with it, and tried to load Eclipse-v5.0-build2-xt926, reportedly compatible with my XT925... now i am stuck with this screen:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
10.9B(*) (sha-1e9f557, 2013-02-14 09:13:08)
eMMC Info: Size 16GB
Deviced is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery Low
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Failed to hab check for boot: 0x56
Fastboot Reason: Boot Failure
usb connected
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been looking to XDA for my answers over the last year. Help would be appreciated. Twenty-five dollars worth of appreciation.
(Yes, I have resorted to bribes....)
Easy fix,
download what ever version of the system software you had on it previously.
Flash it in fast boot mode.
?????
Profit.
Edit: also Verizon RAZRs are xt926 not xt925

Phone identified itself as 925... either way, i am unsure where i can find stock software for it and seem to be unable to flash anything from fastboot, because as it turns out, i am code-retarded. definitely profit when this is solved. I can "cd" through dos and get to where fastboot commands are entered and I have even tried to "fastboot recovery recovery.img" but for the life of me, i must be typing the string incorrectly somehow. But I am excellent at following clear-cut directions. i will try to find a stock image...for motorola, it is a .sbf file, right? If i seem stupid, i apologize, i'm not. just not up on all the nomenclature native to adb and fastboot (or linux). Thanks for helping me though.....i need it.
Ok,
First thing I want you to do is look on the back of the phone, It will have the model on the lower half of it.
Second thing is to find the official software.
For XT96:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/vanquish/list.php
For xt925
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/vanquish_u/list.php
Flash the ROM file using RSD Lite.
If it dosnt work:
Make sure you have the moto drivers installed.
open up the .xml file in the rom and remove the "getvar" lines.
Still trying
Failed at 16/27 flash system system.img
What version did you try?
VZW_XT926_4.1.2_9.8.1Q_62_VQW_MR-4_VQW_CFC.xml
having a hard time finding other .xml files to use... any non-stock .xml available? really want to get into an AOKP/CM/PAC/Liquidsmooth/Carbon/Paranoid.....whatever is 4.2.2
No, only official roms are packaged like that.
You need to have RSDlite at least Version 6 or higher. Also, edit the xml file as stated here.
If your phone is up & running again you can consider going to another rom either with safestrap or by unlocking your BL, installing a recovery and flashing any ROM you like. As stated above you can only flash Stock FW using RSDLite. All other roms can only be applied with either safestrap or CWM Recovery (or similiar).
HELP-ME
FRIENDS, AFTER I TRY TO INSTALL A ROOM 4.2.2 MY PHONE NO OUT OF AP fastboot.
JA TRIED TO PUT ALL ROOMS OF MOTOROLA BUT NOT RESOLVED.
SCREEN IS BLACK AND PHONE DOES NOT NOTHING COULD HELP ME?: (

[Q] Razr Maxx HD won't charge and is stuck at No Valid PIV block in sp for system

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD. I tried to install a custom boot animation from the Moto X. It installed correctly, but threw my phone into a constant bootloop. I tried to reflash using RSD Lite with the new (9.30, since that's what I was on) Verizon SBF files and RSD Lite kept saying failure. So I tried to use Matt's Utility 1.21 and no luck. Then I tried to use SamuriHL's House of Moto method with no luck as well. Now my battery is low and I have the Motorola cable, and tried to charge it using the BP Tools method. It tries to flash the Moto logo, but immediately goes to the AP Fastboot screen with the No Valid PIV block in sp for system screen. HELP!!!!!
Update: I used a Moto factory cable and for some reason now I'm in AP Fastboot with Battery OK but when I try to flash using RSD Lite it gives this error...Failed flashing process. Unknown fastboot command. (getvar)
New Update: Did some digging around and found out about removing the lines that include getvar. I did that and VOILA!!! RSD worked. Glad to have all the tools necessary on the world wide web. Lol!

Moto G blank screen

Hey my moto g turns on and after Motorola animation the screen goes black. It's turned on but stays blank. My phone's bootloader is unlocked and in recovery it says boot failed. Can anyone help me? @lost101 @ravibhat
Read the forum FAQs. You will have to find the lastest stock firmware for your phone model, download mfastboot tool, motorola drivers for your device, learn to boot to fastboot mode and flash the firmware using mfastboot and a computer.
If after doing this the problem persists it could be a hardware problem (logic boards for some moto g suddenly dies or doesn't allow flashing the firmware anymore)
