[Q] HELP-HTC Sensation-back cover issue

HELP!Have a HTCC Sensation and have a couple of flip covers.Last one l bought a faux leather one the mobile could not be removed from the cover no matter how hard l tried.As a result had to tear it aprt.it has now left a residue on the back cover of the HTC Sensation.How and what can l use to remove these not exactly sticky but mpossible to remove using figernails.Cannot use my charing dock as it doess not show it is charging but can charge it the ordinary way.
Must remove as cannot open to replace battery or other things.
Anyone give advice and remember the back is polished plastic so my thought possibly is nail polish remover but had no idea how this will react with the plastic.Water no use,also cannot afford any water damage.
Any idea please as am desperate.
Please note if you are going to suggest a product it may not be avail in Australia so please if you answer outline how and what l can use as phonw very expensive (for me) and although under warranty l hardly think this comes under that heading.l bought this flip cover in good faith and thought it was safe so someone had better be respnsible for this.My other one has a sort of felt or soft interior which l have had no issues with.
Good lesson to those people when buying flip covers for cell (mobile phones)

[Q] FPC Connector broken... Any other ways to connect the flex cable?

Hi,
i have a really bad problem with my HTC Sensation. After replacing the Touchscreen and LCD of my phone somehow the white part of the FPC Connector for the touchscreen broke off. Is there any other why to glue/connect the cable with the Connector? I dont want to buy a new Motherboard...

Im having the same issue..hope there is a way to get around this!

Is it the jaw bone connector? I suggest going to injured gadgets.com. I know they sell parts for the HTC sensation , not sure if they have the connectors or not but it's worth a look. If not perhaps search for HTC sensation connectors replacement parts.
Hopefully someone would have them . I'm doubtful you can glue them as it has to hold things in place. If you do try to glue be extremely careful as if the glue gets on other things it would be a real mess and it would not function correctly . I think you would be better off looking online for another replacement connector . I do wish you the very best and hope you find what you need. Perhaps give one of the repair places a call and even if it is not advertised as them selling the connectors they might have parts laying around and can possibly make a deal with you for a used connector? It's worth a try. Best wishes.

For me the jaw connector looks as if it popped off very easily. Nothing damaged.. Very hard to tell if it will snap back into the grooveS do to the small size. Is my next move to mount solder a new HTC Sensation FPC Connector for Touch Screen Flex Cable?? If so can a beginner do it? I'm repairing this for someone and don't want to pay a second party more than I'll even make on this repair.. You kno??

You use solder not glue - glue has many uses but electronics isnt one of them!

Just had this same issue. Anyone managed to solve? If not, where can i buy a new motherboard?

I have just had to purchase a new FPC connector for my HTC sensation as well.
I just searched for 'HTC Sensation FPC Connector for Touch Screen Flex Cable' on parts4repair.com. $2, so you can't really go wrong. Just have to be patient enough to wait for it to turn up. I have no idea how I am meant to attach it, but at least I've got the part on it's way LOL

QI wireless charging mod

So my SW2's USB port cover broke. Thinking about solutions I thought about a QI wireless charging mod. Just put together a prototype and it works well
That's with an old Palm Pre touchstone charger, so I need to wait until I get my QI stuff in the mail before I proceed. I'll keep you posted

Then I'll cover the USB port with the foam and shape it into an OEM stock look., hopefully with no bulge from the port. This should retain waterproofing and maybe even make it more resistant, cause the USB port is the where it fails first under water. With that completely sealed the device has nowhere for water to enter.

Prototype update:
made it more pretty
The putty I have is white so I sharpied it.

Although I can't find any documentation, it seems USB port covers from Sony Xperia are indeed replaceable with out disassembling the device. Apparently all you need is the correct angle of force pulling on the cover and it pops out. I can't find info on what angle is required.

Damn good Job seems realy nice

The version in the video eventually broke, so I bought another coil. I used JB weld this time and flat black sprey paint. I sanded the JB weld after it dried to get it as smooth as I could. It was quite time consuming. For some reason it was not water resistant, and that was the whole reason I made this. I don't want to spend time messing with it anymore lol, I got another SW2.

Maybe the better solution will be a 3D Print cover for back with QI charger module inside. It should looks more elegance
That should be not so expensive solution and can be removed if needed.

If no one used these, atleast please let me know where i can get a good magnetic charger in india.

I am also looking for a magnetic charger, let me know if you find anything, I ordered the cheapest on ebay already, it was like 350INR, but I will get something better too.

I have 4 magnetic chargers as I don't like to open the flaps for charging with the micro usb.
1. Official sony dock charger http://goo.gl/y5og7B
2. Ebay india magnetic charger http://goo.gl/1jluTs its a nice one but magnet is not so strong but better than chinese and I use this in my card for emergency charging or while I am travelling.
3. Some ebay.com Chinese charger http://goo.gl/uNmuvr & http://goo.gl/lCicLY same problem as the Indian ebay one it just fall off so easily you can't rely on it.
But the best one is the sony's official magnetic dock charger which I am using on daily basis, but this charger also have some fitting problems with different cases so you have to custom fit it.
Now I will be buying this http://goo.gl/iZV5FR as I have checked reviews, they say its the best with strong magnet so it wont fall of while charging but it costs almost rupee 1500 with shipping, so still thinking about it.
The chargers which are mentioned by @xtremegiri are almost same as the one I bought from ebay.in

@xtremegiri @sanros The charger from eBay works but charges really slow, I was looking for one with strong magnets but you wouldn't get one as the magnet in the body is not pay off the phone chassis and can come out with strong magnets comprising water proofing, I got the dock and took out the cable from the dock, I might get another official dock soon, stay away from third party cables, they don't work well, I also ordered the connector which converts regular micro USB to magnetic connector, will let you guys know when I get it

That's what i was saying, you can take the cable out from Sony dock, i know it's expensive but that's the only way of getting the official Sony cable. The dock is just the regular magnetic cable inside the dock.

I got 2 from ebay - http://www.ebay.in/itm/201295121918?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and quite happy with those those. The magnet is quite strong and doesn't fall off easily. ......I hope it stays this way.
Also it charges upto 100% no issues

Screen or Digitiser replacement?

Hey guys, I managed to smash my screen with a drill.. They were both on my wall when I was working on my motorbike and I nudged the drill and it ripped over and smashed the side of my phone casing a spiderweb crack. Gutted.
The touch input now doesn't work. i'm having to use an OTG cable, usb hub and a usb mouse and keyboard to do anything.
I don't really have the spare money to send it in tyo be fixed so I was thinking of replacing it myself, now, I don't know if I should buy just the front glass or the glass/screen assembly?
I know I'll loose the waterproof cababilities but It'll be a cheap fix for now.
Anyone have any ideas?

I've seen this being done on a z2.
I believe changing both is your only option. Making it look decent with a home repair without changing the display also will be hard.

Seems like the plan.
I may just try and accumulate the 100 pquid excess and have a new one shipped next working day.

Ive just ordered genuine grade A from ebay. Also genuine seal for back. Pressure test is OK.
