What is Omnirom?
A new Android custom rom has been announced at the BABBQ (Big Android BBQ) by @Xplodwild, @Chainfire, @Dees_Troy & Team. For more information go to omnirom's website.
Introduction
This is an unofficial stable release of OmniROM 4.4.4 Android KitKat for the Asus Transformer PAD TF101.
It is currently at a stable status. At the moment, all hardware appears to be functional, including the optional keyboard dock. If anything is found to be still broken, please let me know and I'll try to get it fixed. It is based on a modified version of timduru's and others TF101 device trees and uses timduru's kernel sources with a modified config to bring in preliminary SE Linux support. Overlays that relied on EOS or other files not available have been stripped out and now uses Omnirom's methods for overlays and customization.
Code:
*Your warranty is now void.
*Flashing custom ROMs can result in a bricked device
*and all responsibility lies with the user in deciding to flash this.
*I will not be held responsible for any bricked devices or otherwise.

Changelog 10-24-14: This build includes all the latest merges to Omnirom and I've added a lighter Asus Apps package that drops Asus Weather, Asus file manager. See Omni gerrit for latest changes.
Changelog 10-04-14: This build has a new feature in settings for tinted system bars colors. See Omni gerrit for recent merges for more details.
Changelog 09-12-14: This build has some under the hood changes, nothing major. See Omni gerrit for recent merges for more details.
Changelog 08-15-14: This build brings in all Omni changes as of 08-14-2014. Minor device configuration tweaks here and there. I brought in some additional configs and such from the ICS stock ROM to see if we can use them, i.e. game controller configs and other accessory configs. I had to change back to Google GCC-4.8 tool chain and cut back slightly on some optimizations to get this to boot and to allow me to keep my build system fully up to date. I've tried to bring in as much additional language support as I could find. I only speak English and only have an English dock, so others will need to test if their desired support is there. Also, I'll be posting a separate package of selected, newer Asus apps that just happen to work well with the TF101 for those that are interested, thanks to XDA users sbdags and kansasboy001. I chose to include in this package Asus soft keyboard, Asus battery widget, Asus File Manager which replaces DocumentsUI, Asus Dictionary, Asus Audio wizard which replaces DSP Manager, Asus Weather and Time widget and the Asus Framework to make it all work. Installing this package will also remove Cell Broadcast Receiver app, which does us no good anyway and just takes up a little space. Everything seems to be working pretty smoothly with this combination. See gerrit for recent Omnirom merges for other change details and report any issues.
Changelog 07-25-14: This build brings in all recent Omni merges since 06-20-14. Most visible change is a dual pane, tablet mode view in the Settings. All the previous cherry-picks are in place. This build is using a newer merge of timduru's kernel sources. Also, this build was made as a 'user' build, meaning it has the .odex files and is a little bigger, testing to see if any difference when using ART runtime. I Recommend a clean wipe and factory reset for best results. Would also suggest switching to pa-gapps micro version and using the gapps-remove app from there to get rid of any gapps you don't want or need, i.e. if you're using Google TTS then there's no reason to consume space with Pico, which is inferior anyway. Might as well nuke Face Unlock, too, since it's currently not working, you get the idea. You may also have to manually turn on adb debugging even after gaining developer options, as it's not automatically turned on in 'user' builds.
Changelog 06-20-14: This build brings us up to Android version 4.4.4_r1. All previous cherry-picks are included and I have added back in the Advanced Animation Controls. Root exploit has been patched in kernel. Mostly, this fixes up openssl issues and some other minor things. Be sure to grab the latest SuperSu and gapps packages.
Changelog 06-05-14: This build is built with fully optimized Sabermod 4.8.4 tool chain, ROM and kernel. Netflix fix from timduru has been applied, thanks to zachf714 for submitting the changes, and now seems to work perfectly, without any mods or init.d tricks. This build does not include the Advanced Animation Control feature, as it is currently broken and wouldn't allow a build to complete. Did I mention that this is now Android 4.4.3_r1.1? All other cherry-picks are still included, along with recent kernel patches thanks to zachf714 and some minor device tree cleanup and changes. See Omnirom gerrit recent merges for all other details.
Changelog 05-29-14: New feature for Launcher3 users - hot word detection. Similiar to Google Now launchers 'OK, Google' feature, but with lot's more customization available. Find it in the Launcher Settings, from long pressing home screen while in Launcher3. Latest updates to App Circle, OmniSwitch, and Advanced Animation controls. ROM can now support ext4 formatted external sdcards. Changed default audio sample rate to 48000. Now built with Linaro 4.7. See Omnirom gerrit for latest merged change details.
Changelog 05-11-14: Latest updates to App Circle and OmniSwitch apps. Added advanced animation controls. Added zram support. Other minor kernel config changes. See Omnirom gerrit for latest merged change details.
Changelog 04-05-14: Added experimental App Circle with floating window support by Yanuar Harry. This feature appears to be working well and doing as it was designed to do. Suggest moving OmniSwtch activator to the left side of screen as the App Circle will come up on the right side of screen. Activate App Circle from the More.. option in Settings and add the apps you want to display. Long press icons in the App Circle to activate floating window.
Changelog 03-28-14: This build provides fully functional dock keyboard support and dock battery status reporting for things like Dual Battery Widget to work. Will try to bring in status bar icons for dock battery at a later time. Also, a fix I found to get Netflix working has been included. The low fps boot animation has been in for a couple of builds now and is still included. Omnirom changes for tablet specific devices have been included. Multi-window support is in. This build includes a Linaro 4.8 built kernel from timduru's latest kernel sources. I recommend the normal procedure - wipe caches and system before flashing ROM, latest PA-gapps, and latest SuperSu zip package. Reboot and allow all to settle in. Google's text-to-speech now works with latest PA-gapps and is much better quality than Pico.
Changelog 03-22-14: Dock function key support is now included. There still may be some bugs to work out and sometimes it may require undocking and redocking to get it to work. If you lose the functionality of the screen lock key and power menu from the power button then you will have to hold the power button to reboot. I suggest a full wipe including data with this build as there have been some framework changes that may not like your old data. Tahnks to jruesga from tf700t-cyanogenmod for his helpful suggestions and patches upon which this was based.
Changelog 03-02-14: Added back multi-window and fixed main battery icon style selection.
Changelog 03-01-14: Added dock battery support. Still working on native dock battery status bar icons, but you can now use Dual Battery widget for dock battery monitoring again. Latest Omni changes. The low fps boot animation has been incorporated, so no more black screen while booting (Thanks jrohwer and zachf714). See Omni gerrit for recent merges and more info. Dock battery changes have not been merged yet, but are in this ROM.
Changelog 02-16-14: Tweaks to OmniSwitch including ability to make default for recents. Latest multi-window cherry-picked. Various UI tweaks. Now at KVT49L (4.4.2_r2) build version. See Omni gerrit for recent merges and more info.
Changelog 02-01-14: New Omni app 'OmniSwitch', multi-window - Go to recents, long press app and choose 'Put aside', Network Traffic indicator now working and Network speed indicator now works. See Omni gerrit for recent merges.
Changelog 01-16-14: Recent OmniROM changes, see Omni's gerrit for specific changes. Still working on dock and dock battery support. It's there, just don't have icons to show it's there.
Changelog 01-11-14: Fixed /sdcard0 folder showing empty, added preliminary dock and dock battery support (icon still gone), synced with latest Omni sources. Smooth and fast.
Changelog 01-04-14: Reboot to recovery from power menu is working now.
Changelog 01-03-14: Cameras are working, auto-rotation is working

Install an application called go taskmanager and restarting the tablet left, I wonder if it is a specific application that causes them.
(after restarting the tablet reboots back. )

Is art working?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium HD app

Looking great for first release, main things I would like to see are
Tablet UI to remove the lag that Phablet UI causes
Dock Battery Icon
Already experienced a Random Reboot, that is a show stopper for me unfortunately

Yes and seems to work pretty well. You have to select from developer settings and reboot for it to take effect.

Welcome to SentinelROM for Nexus 7. Compiled with Linaro toolchain from modded CM10.1 source. Android 4.2.2.
This ROM is compiled from CyanogenMod 10.1 with all the features you get in a CM10.1 ROM, plus the following features.
Compiled with Linaro toolchain
Zip Aligned
LMT Pie Controls.
Compiled from latest CyanogenMod 10.1 source by me, not a 'cooked ROM'.
OTA Updates supported
Improved Web Browsing performance
Improved 3D gaming performance
Amazing battery life
Additional theming and UI customisation
FAST support via this page and our Facebook Page
________________________
This ROM has been built to enhance the CyanogenMod 10.1 experience, with faster gaming and web browsing performance (no choppyness in Chrome too!).
Countless hours have been spent making tweaks to settings to squeeze the most performance I can find out of this ROM while still providing excellent battery life and without the dangers of overclocking and kernel level tweaking.
I compile this ROM and Kernel from the latest CyanogenMod source code, add my various tweaks and adjustments, then test for stability, so you get all the benefits of CyanogenMod 10.1, plus my tweaks and extras, all without the instability and inconvenience of flashing CyanogenMod nightlies (which are not designed specifically for the Nexus 7 like my ROM is.
The kernel source is available from the CyanogenMod's GitHub.
Please note that I do not own a Nexus 7. this ROM is tested on my Nexus 10, compiled again from source to suit the Nexus 7 and tested by my lovely tester team, then released for you to enjoy. Therfore I ask that you please repot any issues you come across in this thread so I can do my best to sort them out ASAP.

None that I am aware of. Please report any bugs ASAP.
Note: On CM10.1 ROMs, to access the internal SD card on your device via USB on your PC, please go to "Settings" - "About Tablet" and tap on "Build Number" repeatedly to unlock "Developer Options". Now go to "Developer Options" and enable "Android Debugging".
________________________
If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed (personally I recommend TWRP, I have had issues with restoring backups using CWM).
Copy the downloaded SentinelROM zip to your Internal Storage.
Boot into your custom recovery
Back up your stock ROM
Factory Reset and wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
Format System partition
Install the ROM
Install GAPPS package
Reboot - First boot may take up to 5 minutes
Important: After installation you will be asked if you want to turn on CyanogenMod Statistics, please leave it off as this is an unofficial/modified build.
Note: Use of titanium backup to restore apps and data from another ROM is not recommended, and is the source of 90% of user issues, especially when it comes to battery life. Do so at your own risk.
You may flash other kernels as you wish via recovery. Remember to also flash the correct libraries for any 3rd party kernels. Instructions will be given by the Kernel author. NOTE: Updating the ROM via OTA will also overwrite any custom Kernels you have installed.
________________________
Please visit my FAQ's page before asking questions in the thread. Chances are the answer is already there! I'm always happy to help out with any other questions.
________________________
NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, the following mods are developed by SentinelROM users and therefore I can only offer limited support for problems caused by using them.
Clock and status bar mods - Use these for transparent status bar and centre clock, etc - Thanks to "peetu20"

A huge thanks to my Nexus 7 testing crew! You guys make this ROM possible! Special thanks to XDA member Fadawah.
Thanks very much to all those who have answered my questions through the process of creating my own ROM, you know who you are.
CyanogenMod for their outstanding work. Full credit to them for the bulk of this ROM.
OTA-UpdateCenter.pro for their OTA database support and OTA Updater app source.

A run through of SentinelROM for Nexus 7 by user WeeFeeri
Setting up LMT Pie Controls
Flashed this morning. Not much chance to play with it but smooth so far. What is 'Swag Papers' supposed to do? Just hangs at Retreiving wallpapers from server.

Hi mate, I'm not familiar with "Swag Papers". Is it an app you've installed yourself? Maybe it's part of the latest CM10.1 source. I'll have to look tonight when I get home from work. I can't find it on my Nexus 10 running the same ROM.

I have no idea what it is, was an option under wallpapers with a unicorn symbol. I flash a lot of roms, maybe it's left over from something else. (I do a factory reset between rom's)
That's bizzare.
Under wallpapers, you should have:
Gallery
Live Wallpapers
No Wallpaper
SentinelROM Wallpapers
Wallpapers
Are you using Apps to SD? Maybe its something stored on your SD card?
I just had a look at my source and I can't find any reference anywhere to it. If it has a unicorn logo, maybe it's left over from an AOKP rom?
Why hasn't this ROM been getting much attention?
Theres 2 things that put me off here:
Not very well known
In the screenshot you have 74% battery, but yet it says 50 minutes remaining?
(It looks very nice though !! )
@OP what's the name of the clock widget?

Haha. I hadn't noticed that battery life thing to be honest. That would be because I was connected via DDMS and logcatting, plus I had the screen brightness maxed out for testing.
BTW it's had about 90 downloads. Just not many posters.

It's Zooper Widget.
We're up to about 300 downloads so far. How are you guys finding the ROM?
New hosting has been arranged. The ROM should download faster now
very interested by this rom... but what do you mean by cm10.1 isnt made for the nexus 7?
What I mean is that CM10.1 uses the same source for all devices rather than being specifically taylored for each device. Where-as with SentinelROM, I make changes to the source which are specifically done to maximize performance on each device I release it for.
New CM10.1 4.2.2 build on it's way very soon.
SentinelROM 4.00 for Nexus 7 is now available. See OP for details and please remember to update to the latest 4.2.2 GAPPS package. Link is in the OP.
Enjoy!
I've had over 200 downloads of v4.00, but hardly anyone is posting feedback here in the thread. (plenty via PM).
I guess no posts means no problems, but I'd still love to hear how are you all finding the ROM!

Installation:
If coming from any non-4.2.x/CM10.1-based ROM, a factory reset is very much recommended.
(0. Backup your existing ROM)
1. Decide if you feel experimental. Linaro or normal build?
2. Download latest nightly to device.
3. Download special TF101 gapps linked below. (Choose only one)
4. Boot into recovery. Use TWRP, not CWM, as CWM doesn't support 4.2 ROMs properly.
5. Flash ROM. (This also wipes /system and any mods you already have.)
7. Flash special TF101 Gapps.
8. Optionally flash trackpad and/or tabletUI mod. (For tabletUI-mod: Do read below!)
9. Ensure you wipe /cache and dalvik-cache.
10. Reboot.
Basically, the normal procedure for any ROM.
Updating:
Updating from a previous build does not require a factory reset and will in no way delete any user-data or apps.
Be sure to flash ROM and to reflash gapps otherwise you will lose your current Google-account.

Linaro?
So you are asking "What's Linaro anyway?". Good questions. To learn more, you can head to the Linaro. Since that is a big, big page with lots of technical stuff, I'll be nice and provide a brief explanation:
- Linaro makes an alternative toolchain which offers extra optimization-options not found in the "normal" Android build-chain. These optimizations should make the resulting build/ROM faster.
- But these optimizations are not entirely proven yet, and there is some debate about compatibility-related side-effects.
- These means that the resulting build may be less stable and/or less compatible with Android-software than builds produced using the normal build chain.
Is Linaro for you? It works for me. If you feel very conservative, it's probably best to avoid it.
If you still can't decide, you can check out this thread which dlumberg was nice enough to bring up.
TabletUI mod
In the ROM's download folder, for some releases you will find matching tabletUI mods availble for download.
Do note that these mods are created from the ROM itself and must be exactly matched.
That means that if your tabletUI mod is dated 20130428 and tagged "linaro", the only ROM that mod was created for was the 20130428 linaro build and no other build what so ever.
A mod made for the linaro build isn't supported when applied to the standard build and vica verse. A mod made for one date should never be used on a build created on any other date.
These mods are highly specific and needs to be treated that way. If you are mixing things and having any sorts of issues, there's nothing I can or will do about that. You have been warned.
On over-clocking
Don't use SetCPU or other third party tools. They are not needed, as the ROM has built in OC-controls. Using such tools may cause a conflict and in worst case possibly RRs and SODs.
To unlock the OC controls, go to System settings, About tablet, scroll down to build number, and tap that repeatedly until the system responds with "You are now a developer".
Exit and re-enter settings. You should now have a section called "Performance". Here you can enter a submenu called "CPU". Using this is the supported and recommended way to do over-cloking.
Issues?
Check the Github issue-tracker. They may be reported already. If not, feel free to report them.

Some issues are reported and closed, but have known workarounds:
https://github.com/josteink/device_asus_tf101/issues?labels=workaround+available&page=1&state=closed
If not there, you can also check or ask in the thread. Most issues will probably benefit from public discussion.

Other questions:
- "These are the same builds you posted in RaymanFX's thread, right?"
- Yes they are.
- "Bleeding edge... Does this include cherry-picks?"
- No. Only regular CM updates which has passed gerrit code review, just like the official nightlies. We're bleeding edge. Not extra bleeding edge.
- "What makes this different from RaymanFX's 0.8 Work In Progress ROM?"
- This ROM is based of his work, but he hasn't updated his sources in a long while. With the kernel being replaced by a non-Rayman kernel and him not really updating it anymore, I felt it would be wrong to keep posting it in his thread. As we keep making changes, I expect less and less of his original work will remain.
Thus I felt it was time to give. Not to mention, now people have easy to locate downloads and up to date instructions in the first post.

Good luck! I will try it.
If the download site is incredibly slow now, it's probably because a world of Galaxy Nexus users is hammering the same server for the Ubuntu Mobile previews.
Bad timing on my part, I guess
Will try...
No factory reset/wipe data needed? Even when coming from stock/arhd?
Is picasa sync working? On my NS I have to flash a modified camera.apk to get it?
Thanks
Clearly better to make a new clean thread, your rom deserves it =) Thanks for keeping it up to date !

From anything not CM10.1 I would recommend factory reset.

Josteink, good to see the new thread.
Did an upgrade from your 421.
It placed my files in a legacy folder, all seems to run fine.
422 definitely runs slower though.
Do you think that's a result of upgrading instead of a full wipe?
Also, what are you seeing in 422 that makes it a good update.
I really didn't see much change besides the phablet interface, which I'm not sure I like.
I'd really like to know your opinion.
Thanks.

I've had roughly the same performance in 4.2 as in 4.1. No major difference once the kinks and kernels got worked out. You can try a full wipe. I'd definitely recommend that, but I can't promise wild boosts in performance either.
The "phablet" interface takes some getting used to, but once you get there (at least once I got there), I've found myself to prefer it over the old one. The best way I can describe it is that after a while it feels more like a real Android-tablet now and less like a Windows-95 based tablet. YMMV.
Apart from that, things I like in 4.2.x which you didn't have in 4.1.x would definitely be the lock clock (CM10.1 cLock) and other lock-screen widgets. That, and abilty to add user-accounts, which sounds neat, but I don't need it.
Apart from that (on my phone), stock CM camera (which is useful on a phone) now also includes HDR mode, and they just keep on adding things on a daily basis.
I like that. CM10 is pretty much "done", and nothing new happens there, but CM10.1 has a lot of action these days.
You can feel it moving. You can feel you are on the bleeding edge
My 2 cents
work whit kat kernel ?
Re: [ROM] [4.2.2] No-name CM10.1 nightlies - Standard & Linaro
It comes with a forked KatKernel by default.
I see no reason flashing Tim's version shouldn't work, but I haven't tried yet. Will double check later this evening.

I don't know about Tim's version neither, but this combo does work on my system: no SOD in the last hour.
That's a first! Up to now the only kernels that work were Rayman's:good:
I'm missing EOS center though
Sorry about the slow server.
Official Ubuntu should be up now and I've removed my mirror, so hopefully we'll get some proper juice back again

I'm obviously biased
Really though. Team EOS4 is very polished ROM and Timduru is doing an excellent job with it. Respect all the way.
Me though, I like CM-based ROMs and thought it would be nice if there were at least one maintained CM10.1 build for the TF101.
I think it's pretty good and it's my daily driver

KatKiss ROM - Asus TF101
JellyBean 4.2.2
This rom is based onto TeamEOS4 with my own additions on top.
We shall see where it leads to in the future, but it will most likely stay close to EOS4 for the moment as we have reached a very good and stable status in the past months of work,
so we can build on that until the next Android version.
The main motto of the rom being Kiss. Even though the Meerkat could give you a kiss, it stands for Keeps it Sweet and Simple too
Which means that just like the other K.A.T stuff, the rom's main goal will be efficiency, speed/responsiveness,
while cutting out some of the bloat in the future too.

Latest Stable Version: KatKiss-4.2.2_226.zip | md5sum | Other Versions
TF101G AddOn Kernel: KatKiss-4.2_AddOn_TF101G_Kernel_01.zip The default included KatKernel is for the TF101 model and might generate reboots for the TF101G. If that is the case flash this zip after the rom.
Latest Gapps Package: 4.2.2 Gapps for TF101
Older 4.2.1 Gapps for TF101
If you prefer to have the Swipe feature in the default Keyboard you can use this version, but the Keyboard will crash on auto-correction
If you use this version, make sure you go the keyboard settings and change these settings:
+ Auto-correction off
+ Show correction suggestions:always hide
FSYNC: fsync_on.zip (fsync is off by default in the rom, if you want it on just flash this after the rom)
If your tablet tends to be unstable /reboots, if you overclock too much or that you tend to let it run out of battery, you might be better to turn fsync back on
Please note that this version is for the TF101 model only.

Additional info & links
GPS:
if it is taking a long time to get a lock or no lock, follow this:
Install the latest K.A.T app
Then follow precisely this procedure:
1) Location Settings
- Go to Settings => Location => turn OFF Access to my location
- Turn Access to my location back ON
- Make sure you agree to let google access the location.
Now you should have :
- GPS satellites: checked
- Wifi & mobile networks location: checked
2) Launch the new K.A.T app
- make sure you grant it root access
- make sure you have internet access
- go to the install menu, Check the "Install GPS quicker fix + Assistance
- Click the Install button
- Make sure it says "Install Finished"
3) Reboot
4) Wait that it has finished booting and launching all the stuff you have starting at boot
5) Start your GPS app outside with a clear sky line, to speed things up stay in range of the wifi / internet connection.
Do not let the gps app loose focus when it is trying to get a fix.
Do not let your tablet sleep / turn off the screen either.
Doing that here, the first time and with a cold gps start, and even staying in my house,
I get a 6 sat fix within 30 seconds and 11 sat fix in 1min 15seconds.
From there subsequent fixes takes about 3 seconds to grab 7 sats and about 10 seconds to reach the 10-11 sat fix
(you still want to let it sit outside for a bit after the 1st fix, so that the ephemeris data gets consolidated and updated to help faster fix later on)
Google search:
If the version you're using is crashing when you open Google Now,
go to Settings => Language & Input => Voice Search
then uncheck Hotword Detection.
Hardware keyboard layouts
More languages have been added in the default asusec keyboard
Set the keyboard layout through Settings => Language & Input => asusec => setup keyboard layouts
These also allow live switching without reboot with ctrl + space
Glass effect:
If you want glass to work with Trebuchet, you need to deactivate the quick wallpaper rendering in Trebuchet settings though.
Storage (fstrim) and Database optimization:
open a terminal and run:
su
/etc/kat/optimizedb
/etc/kat/optimizestorage
Be warned that the optimize storage can take from a few minutes to hours.
But the speed / lag will be greatly improved afterward

KatKernel is not yet included in that first version, so you still need to flash it after the rom.
This version is an hybrid between EOS4 PreviewB202 / Nightly 120 and new stuff and shouldn't have the EOS4 #121 microsd bug.
Test & Report to confirm that we're back on track and then we can build up on top of that version
ChangeLog:
=7/11/13 - V215=
- Critical Security fix for Bug 8219321 (Android apk MasterKey exploit)
- Browser: Reorg of the pie control + add Pie Feature to go to Bottom/Top of page
- Include MediaScanner Filters by default (so you do not need to install them from the K.A.T app again after installing the rom)
- Rom versions change
- Deactivate GooManager versions to avoid notifications of flashing older EOS4 121
- Default Kernel interactive threshold decrease for quicker speed boost/responsiveness.
Huzzah!

Amazing work Tim..Thanks again
I am working on a small banner for the new ROM will update
Now that the KAT kernel is included, how does the KAT app fit in? I too would like to know if the sync on script from EOS can be used to enable the current kernel. My Transformer was always unstable enough I feel better with fsync on although its unbelievably improved since I moved to the TeamEOS ROM (and now to KatKiss I hope.)
Another question, I see mention of the inclusion of the T-Mobile theme chooser. Does this mean I don't need to use the "improved" version mentioned in the TeamEOS ROM thread anymore?

General Information:
This is my continuation of doing AOKP PUB Builds just adapted for the Nexus 7 Flo. PUB (Project Unicorn Butter) aimed to bring Linaro toolchain and other optimizations to the normal AOKP build. My goal is to simply continue these builds providing releases based off current code. Current builds are using the latest (2013.09) release of the 4.8 Toolchain. Builds using O3, strict-aliasing, and other optimizations where applicable.
Releases:
The target will be weekly builds on the weekend with a build during the week only where needed for bug fixes to be merged or some major change we just can't wait for
There are two Release Types
TYPE 1 is your traditional ROM Flashable zip.
You must flash gapps after flashing this ROM as it can not be included in the ROM zip.
Current Gapps: gapps-jb-20130813
Slim Gapps(needed for full Dark UI functionality): Slim Gapps 4.3 DownloadsTYPE 2 is an Aroma Installer that includes the ROM, latest gapps, and many other options. See Post 2 below for further details.More than likely any middle of the week builds will not get rolled into the Aroma.
Kernel:
I am currently building the flo kernel from aokp google/msm source (stock). It is the kernel that will be installed if you just flash this as is. This is a perfectly fine daily driver, should be stable and safe across all devices.
If you are looking for better battery life, better performance during gaming, or even just more control over various settings at the kernel level then feel free to try one of the other great kernels offered for this device. I will not recommend one, I will recommend you try them all and see which works best for you.
Installation:
Download rom zip and gapps
Reboot to recovery
Wipe cache/dalvik (full wipe when needed)
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot

Code:
[B]v3.2 Changes[/B]
<*>Includes buttered_flo_2013-10-23 ROM
<*>Updated faux kernel to 007_r2
<*>Updated glitch kernel to 20131016-r10
<*>Updated AdAway to 2.8 src compiled

[B]v3.1 Changes[/B]
<*>Includes buttered_flo_2013-10-12 ROM

Optional Inverts:
You can get inverted applications in multiple ways. First I'd recommend going to System Settings and flipping the switch for Dark AOKP.
This will invert many of the core Gapps for you. For any other applications you may want inverted, there are two great threads that will make this trivial for you:
Midnight Gapps Project
Team BlackOut
Thanks:
- faux123 for his kernel included in this aroma.
- Tk-Glitch for his kernel included in this aroma.
- amarullz for aroma itself and the continued updates
- the great boot animations by thor6577, be sure to check his thread for more!
Thanks, downloading, will report back when flashed.
Update: Really stable so far, and smooth, gonna try the Aroma one later, thanks!
:good: Thanks, i'm waiting for Aroma Link, It still not up yet i think. :good:
Finally, and it's nice too see the kernel built from aosp which means no cm drama recently.
Unfortunately it also breaks the compatibility with custom kernels like latest cm nightlies did, blue screen on boot.

Still working on the aroma.
Loved this ROM on my Grouper. Pumped to see it come over to Flo!

This sounds great. going to have to try it. I will assume that the posted build has the broken user profiles as this has been broken in AOKP source(at least on flo but maybe other devices) since Sep 29th. I will wait until this issue is fixed in AOKP source before trying this rom as i need user profiles.
Psyched that you finally made it over here Mr. R! :good:
Can't wait to give this beast a go. Only thing left is for Morfic to bring his uberness to the kernel world for Flo/Deb.
It's been a while since I've seen you in the S3 section, nice to see you here as well. If we are already on another AOKP rom do you think we could dirty-flash this or is it different enough that we should do a full wipe?
the Aroma download link doesnt work.

I dirty flashed from stock and had a process.acore.whatever keep crashing. I cleared contacts storage data/cache and force stopped it and haven't seen it since. Should be fine but if you see weird issues don't post them here until you try a clean flash, that's all I ask.

I don't really play with user profiles so not sure exactly what is "broken". However clicking on users did give me the process.acore has stopped message and clearing contacts storage data and cache made that go away. I can create a user profile just fine in my quick little test.

Seems to be a fix in their gerrit or at least an attempt to address. I'll include it next time and try it out.

Any chance of seeing a "OneAromaToBindThem" for Flo, with all of the Aroma goodies but without the AOKP ROM itself? Loved having this toolbox for flashing various ROMs on my Grouper. (Yes, I know I could just download the full Aroma, but space is at a premium on my internal storage.)

ugh... so many things to maintain... And since I'll no longer include inverts there would really just be kernels and apps right?
I feel like its a waste to have the inverts as the thread I link to in the OP keeps them updated and honestly once TRDS got good I rarely even flash another inverted app now. Is there something else you used it for that I'm missing?

Yes kangaroo kernel will work fine m kernel has dac support to but im not sure about otg charging
EDIT:
M-kernel doesn't work but Oxydo does
Feel free to try a few kernels and i will add a list to op
Humm looks like i might have to give this a go along with the Oxydo kernel. Sorry if this is a stupid question but with this ROM and that kernel will I need stickmount app for my music? I'm coming from Timur's ROM so I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of tweaking to do. Keep up the great work!!

Cant try it right now but i looked through a bit of code and found this commit: https://github.com/SlimRoms/device_asus_grouper/commit/93105dc0fb30aafa8ceaa7f2827878180df63f26
So it should work i dont know with what filesystems tho..
I would need some testers for new builds. Please pm me if you are interested.
Peace
Is the version without the status bar landscape mode with the notification panel on the taskbar?
I'm still using timurs old rom in my car so I'd like to update. My suggestion would be to include the power management app in the rom. Kinda like the way timur's is attached to settings.

Nope unfortunatly not. Google disabled the tablet mode with android 4.4..
It just disables the statusbar by setting its size to 0.
Hmm, that's almost a deal breaker for me. I'm going to do some research on this.
Anychance orange non Mega download link? Doesn't work for me without some random appneing installed.
I also forgot to ask how do you change the volume on this rom? My nexus us inside my dash so no access to physical buttons.

Hmm you could make two tasker tasks with volume up and volume down and add them as buttons to the navbar, but there is a little delay..
I am working on a better impementation
I'm looking for a USB OTG charging Rom, since you have integrated Net Fluke 's works, does usb otg charging works?

Usb otg chrging is more kernel related than rom related
So flash oxydo kernel or kang-aroo kernel and it should work, or you could flash the test1 build with built in oxydo kernel and it should work out of the box.

Wow I'm gonna have to try this test build!! I was going to ask if you'd consider including the oxydo kernel since I really like the double tap to wake but am having issues with my flash drive connecting.
So thanks!!! I'll try it out and see what happens!! Keep up the great work man!!!!

Excellent sir!!! My own nex 7 took a dump on me and I've yet to replace it. I was about to update my purity build when it died. Either way, I just wanted to say thanks. Also, look into f2fs, I had just got done testing and it IS faster.
One more thing. Google I/o 2014.... lollipop will have full official usb audio support, plug and play or on boot it will act like headphones were plugged in.!!!!!
Ps. ..... look into dev-host. 10 free gigs of bandwidth for free......only for free projects or donation only projects.

F2fs builds are already up but i didn get any feedback on them so i dont know if they work
Feels good to hear that from you i used your purity build for a pretty long time but i wanted to use slim for the custom navbar buttons
Regarding android L: i have seen the keynote and it sounds pretty amazing. I doubt we will get official support for the nexus 7 so we have to wait till someone ports it when its released
And i will look into dev-host thanks for the tipp
