Man you must be kidding me,I hope your BSin,because your part of the reason I went to the Epic after the great work you did with the Moment...Dude if its true you will never know how much what you have done for the community has meant.I think people ride you so much is because your just that good,or people ride your nuts all the time like I am now, lol,no but really your are badass to me.
I really hope it's not true that you're leaving! I don't know what will happen to my phone without you here deving! It just won't be the same.

noob, I hope you're not actually leaving. It saddens me to hear this, especially after I just tried out your amazing start on Cyanogen and considering how much you really helped get Epic development started.
I can't say that I'm too surprised considering how vocal the haters are. Please know this, while the trolls and all the immature kiddies maybe louder, there is a whole community of Epic owners who really appreciate what you've done and have a lot of respect for your work.
May I ask where/what you'll be heading next?
Whatever happens noob, I wish you the best.

First off Hello everyone here in the SR section. I've been reading post here for a few days but just joined a few minutes ago. My reason for joining was bc I saw how friendly ''most'' of you guys/gals are here lol I have ran into a few ''mean'' post/responses but I feel that as long as I dont do something extra dumb I shouldnt get hounded for the most part....anyways sorry for the rant my other reasons are just to stay updated on what other SR users are doing with this fine device also the whole ROOTING thing seems very scary to me lol been with iphones since 2007 and only jailbroke my iphone 4... so thats about it peeps hope I can gain some friendships and good information and feedback hopefully I'll be here awhile thanks to all who read and reply!
MOD PLEASE DELETE THIS USELESS POST!!!!!

Xda is by far the absolute best place to learn, get responses, and really just have fun. There are millions of users and the odd thing is we all have to start from scratch for the most part. There are a few coders/programmers/hardware/software engineers, that don't start from scratch and I'd say those are the ones who end up as the developers for said phones.
Couple of tips, don't let the hype get you. Do not start with rooting/Modding until you, and only u feel comfortable. Also, when u read directions follow them to a tee and take your time. Before you know it, none of this is Greek and you are a regular on xda with several hundred post.

Which is knda wrong because it was your fault. Or you coud put in the time to do proper research so you know what your doing and dont brick it. I have no sympothy for people who brick trying to flash stuff from other devices because they didnt feel like reading so they knew wht they were doing.and nor do i think they should be allowed a warranty exchange. But thats my oppinion. And this will eventually lead to no warranty and/or locked bootloaders and more flash counters.
Just take the time to read and follow directions and there should be no problems
Hey Guys.... I am reaching out to the community in hopes of finding someone that is willing to donate their infuse to me so that i can continue my development for this device. My Infuse is currently in poor condition as the USB connector is pretty much screwed. As of the past couple months, I have had to keep the device positioned correctly in a certain way so that the cable (whether just charging or mounted) stays connected and any slight movement would disconnect. It has gotten worse since that point and is almost at the point i am unable to connect to charge it. So.... Can anyone out there help me out? If you are not familiar with my work, please check out the links in my signature. Thanks.

Scott,
Stupid question but have you by chance tried a different usb cable? I had the same issue on mine and still do. i have 2-3 cables that will fall right out of the port or not charge unless possitioned correctly. i tried a brand new cable and my problem was gone. Just figured i would throw it out there incase it helps the situation.

Its gestures like this that in my opinion, make XDA such a great community to be a part of.

Thanks very much scott for the continues development to our device and for the dedications and hardwork you have given to the infuse community, and to rwaterspf1 we we're very grateful for your generosity thanks very much sir.
Thank you all for the kind words. Without the developers here on xda we would all be stuck with whatever the OEM's wanted to push on us. I have been using Scott's ROMs and have learned a ton about Android from reading posts here. I recently got an ATT Galaxy SIII and from what I have learned here on xda have ported Scott's Beanstalk so I can have the goodness on my new phone! I am very happy to be able to have a way to actually give something back to this community.

Thanks to both of you. Seriously.

I'm wondering...
Have you sourced out the board the connector is mounted to? I can only assume it can't be that expensive given the age of the device. I can't remember but I think I may have the breakdown and parts list somewhere... Prolly on a hard drive here somewhere.
I just think you could do twice as much with 2 working devices....
Don't know whats more awesome, such an amazing dev or such an amazing community!
Loving my new htc one but my Infuse will always have a special place in my heart

I did. I actually traded it in. They gave me $50 for it, so I figured what the heck. Now I am wishing I would have kept it.
It isn't every day that a dev comes along who's as kind, considerate, and helpful as iB4STiD. For years, he's given to the community and put up with verbal abuse from trolls in a gracious manner. If he's going out, let's at least share some appreciation for him. Much love, iB! Thank you for your time and efforts!

Hear hear!
You will be missed man.
I'm running Goldfinger on my S4. Really great rom. I just wish some people wouldn't complain about a rom that someone put a lot of time and effort into. I can think of a couple people who need to just quit acting like they know everything when they clearly don't.
Good luck iB4STiD!! Appreciate your contribution to the community. There are plenty of reasons for anyone come and go but what matters finally is how much values one could add. Good job.
I don't have permission to post in the developer section (for good reason) but I enjoy his ROMs very much.
Thank you. Currently running Goldeneye ☺
We already talked and said bye iB, but I feel like saying bye once more. We won't have another developer like you around here maybe. You were the best developer of any device I've seen ever. There were a lot of devs I've seen for many different Android devices, but, you by far, are the best one I've seen yet. I hope you figure everything out and stuff. (We've already talked about this privately, but, as I said before in this post, you are the best developer to me.)

Nuts. Out of the loop on what's going on, but it's sad to hear. Since getting my S4, his ROMs were the only ones I would run. I guess it's finally time to pull the trigger on that Nexus 6.
What did I miss!
You can't leave! Yours is the one ROM that has always installed quickly and without any headaches.
Hate to see you go.
EDIT: Found out your moving on to bigger and better things. YAY for you! When you feel bored and nostalgic...just knock out another outstanding ROM for us s4/5 users. Good man!
I've used a few different ROMs of his, and I've enjoyed them all. Not only is he a great developer, but he responds kindly feedback and requests and replies thoughtfully to requests for help from users.
Thanks, iB4STiD!
@iB4STiD you are the best my friend and there is no doubt you will be missed. Good luck, stay healthy, and try to get some sleep

Seems like I'm going back to building my own roms. Not a fan of mainstream branches they always have extra features I never use and so much custom code they run into new bugs.
Good luck man!
