New TF700T update - dlpkg here - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi all! Just got a new OTA update notice. I'll be sitting on it until I know exactly what it is and what it does, but if anyone's interested in getting the update file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/od2zfrhfk2ll8tl/dlpkgfile

That's an update from 10.6.1.14.8 to 10.6.1.14.10 WW (out since August). Fixes the root exploit used by Motochopper.

Oh... Must've been just a reminder, since I never installed the last update. Thanks.

With most of us not receiving .26 OTA, What are the chances that JB is the same way?

Those of us who had to manually update our Infinity to the latest .26 firmware because the OTA never came through.
What if ASUS releases Jelly Bean (JB) to the Transformer Infinity tablets and no one can see it because it will never show there's an update available.
Expect nothing...hope for something...
I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm certainly not holding mine.
who cares? whats so hard in manually updating? OTA updates are a feature, not the only road to go on.
If you need OTA rootkeeper then yes, it may be a factor.

You obviously don't care. ASUS posting the .26 update on their website was also a feature. Had they not done that many of us would still be on the base firmware.
So if ASUS doesn't post the update on their website this time and announce the JB release to the Infinity via OTA, but only 15% reportedly get the OTA. Would you still not care?
I don't know about you but I haven't seen any OTA update of any kind of on my Infinity since I got it, unlike when I had my Transformer Prime where there were updates coming every 2 weeks.
This should concern anyone who had to manually update their Infinity.

It's all good. This site will be abuzz like a kicked hornets best when it hits. Even IF Asus doesn't post the download, which is HIGHLY unlikely, someone on here will copy it and post for the others.. we're one big, friendly, helpful group here.
I'm fairly sure the OTA issue was fixed a while ago.

AKAIK Asus fixed the unlock/no OTA updates issue (yes these issues were related) so imo most users got the .26 OTA already. Also don't worry too much, i'm sure the JB update will be uploaded on Asus site a few days after the OTA update.

To those that were having issues receiving OTAs

Are there any users out there having issues receiving OTA updates and unlocking their TF700? There was an issue a while back where some could not receive the .26 OTA. The issue has since been resolved, but I was wondering if there is anyone who cannot receive OTAs still. Please e-mail [email protected] if you are still experiencing problems with that and unlocking your device.
If your TF700 was able to update to .26 fine, but has not received the .30 yet, please be patient as it will eventually get to you.
Tien
any ideas when WW will get .30?
I have not recieved it, but my serial starts with us.

Ota got stuck at 99% downloaded, I 'turned it off and back on again' And it completed the download and installed correctly
Cant wait for the jellybean patch
Also, infinity should have been the first with jb but really google needs a system in place to let them update the core os and enable asus to patch it quickly with their customizations. You dont need to wait for dell to release windows patches for example

I never got the OTA for .26. I have to manually apply the downloaded file from Asus service site to get from .22 to .26. I have gotten the OTA update for .30. It installed with out any issues during the install nor have I had any issues after the install. I also went to the Asus service site and downloaded the .30 US file to keep along with the .22 and .26 update files. I find it a little unsettling that Asus has pulled the .30 update especially since I have no issues with that specific installation. Perhaps it means that Jelly Bean release is just around the corner.

Would it be possible to provide us with information about the situation of the .30 WW release? Should we get it via OTA or is it just not yet available?
Without this information we cannot tell the difference between a non working OTA (like before) or that it is just not available (yet). The publishing of the 4 .30 non WW releases (however briefly it might have been), only added to the confusion.
I am glad ASUS provides the updates, but I am a little disappointed about the information of how, when, where and what.
The US and the WW usually start rolling out at the same time, so I would be on the lookout for it now.

I have been since I saw post mention the US .30 OTA. Is there any specific information you require when emailing you?
I had to do a manual update for WW from .22 to .26, and assuming WW .30 OTA is available it is not working.

I would give it a few more days. Restart your tablet and keep pinging the server until it comes through.
There is not even one single report of getting WW version, so I doubt it is there.
If they are pushing out together, they certainly didn't this time.
WW is just not there.

WW got updated to my tablet just now. As OTA. Keep checking
Finland here.
WW OTA now available!
Good to hear. Does it look OK, any problems?
I'll be checking it even more frequently now.

No problems so far. Nothing new or anything nice either. Same old laggy infinity
But this was lucky as I should receive SD-card today from Amazon.
Maaybe just a teenyweeny snappier. Nowhere close to Jelly bean on SGS3 but maybe a bit better now. Or then just placebo
Yeaaaah. Installing....
If it doesn't break anything, brick etc... still better than no update at all
it failed for me....got red triangle on android open belly
All good here, already at Android Upgrading stage, so i think i passed, huh.

New firmware available 9.4.5.30-20120907. Do NOT upgrade if you want NVFlash

Hi all,
I have just received an OTA update from ASUS. It seems that the camera firmware has been updated. Unfortunately no JB upgrade yet...
I have uploaded a picture containing the update information. During the update it seems I have lost Root access. The tablet was rooted but not unlocked.
Do not perform the update if you want to install NVFlash. NVFlash does not work (yet) with the .30 firmware!
This is the .30 update that has been out for about a week now... the version number that you are referring to is the *kernel* version number, not the firmware release (which is .30). So, nothing new here...

Thank you. I have changed the subject title. It was old news for you which proves I quickly need to re-root and unlock my tablet .

[Q] able to keep ROOT after 4.1 update?

Well we've already heard the great new TF700's gonna be getting JB within 72hrs. Now here comes this maybe stupid question since Im a noob , will we be able to keep our root by using like Voodoo OTA rootkeeper after such a major update, or we have to wait for a new root tool?
How are we supposed to know before its released?
Wait until someone confirms OTA Doorkeeper works. I'm going to give it a try when I get the update. No one can really tell unless the app doesn't support JB

Since TF300 has already got it's JB update, does anyone know if rootkeeper works on that one after the update?

We heard some news that TF300 after upgraded to JB able to keep root, so we believe we should able to...but for our TF700, only time will tell!
Or if you have an unlocked bootloader you could simply keep using what you have and wait for a day or two(i know its hard) and the awesome devs of this community will have a rooted rom out based on the new JB Update. The roms out now based off of ICS and the TF300 JB are already great. It wont take long to get the little bugs squashed with official source. just my humble opinion.
In order to keep root with the TF300T JB OTA you had to use SuperSU and Voodoo together. Others staying with Superuser and Voodoo lost root. Make sure you check the keep root function in SuperSU's settings though before starting the update. Also worked with the 4.1.1 update last night.

how exactly they both work together? since I haven't used SuperSU before so any detail would be helpful.
Is that I just toggle ON SuperSU's OTA survival mode before the OTA, and restore the root by using Voodoo after the OTA?

seriously we won't know anything until it is released.
if you want root don't accept any update until you hear from the devs that it is safe.

How long until Asus firmware library gets JB?

How long does it normally take Asus to update their firmware library with new releases? In this case Jelly Bean.
Anyone have any personal experience refreshing the site after an update?
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I've seen it take anywhere between 2 and 10 days (approx)... The .30 firmware was posted in about 2 days if I recall correctly - and then removed, and then re-added again a few days later. So, you just never know.

Will Asus release a new unlock device app for unlocking the boot loader on JB?
Has anyone flashed this from Jelly Bean with CWM 6.0.1.4? I used this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915079 but I wanted to get a clean install. Is it safe to simply flash normally via CWM from OTA JB? Using the zip just uploaded to ASUS' site?
