Hi all, I bought a sony xperia l C2104 the last month in Chile, the phone is locked by the carrier and I used all tries for Sim Lock Code way ( Using IMEI ) so, my question is:
¿Any way to restart the counter?
¿Any way to unlock the phone?
¿Which is the way?
Considering Bootloader unlock allowed is no.
Thanks.
EDIT: The company of the carrier is Entel Chile.
If Bootloadee unlock is not allowed you cant unlock BL, thats all what i know

If your phone is simlocked due to company lock
1) Unlock Bootloader to unlock simlock
2) Change Motherboard

I have a Atrix 2 AT&T sim locked .If I install a custom rom like Supercharged Atrix, will be unlocked to any network mobile ? I live in Costa Rica, I bought my phone on ebay like new, unmodified and without contract, but I dont have money to buy the unlock code in cellunlocker.net. It is necessary to unlock the bootloader to unlock the sim card ? I Search in all the forum to see if the doubt was resolved but did not find anything.Somebody help me please!!!
No, it's not necessary to unlock the bootloader to have your sim unlocked.
That is a network provider deal.
Our bootloader is currently "UNLOCKABLE".

I don't think installing custom ROM will unlock the phone for all carriers. You have to do unlock separately if you want to use with any provider other than AT&T.
SIM unlock is entirely separate from changing roms, the bootloader and all that stuff.

Currently our bootloader is LOCKED. Installing the SC ROM will not unlock your phone. To unlock it search on eBay for an unlock code. This right now or the only way to unlock your phone.

He means to SIM unlock the phone, not bootloader unlock....
a sim unlock is about $16.00 USD, just search ebay for atrix 2 sim unlock code.
I got mine from here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200686991308&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
works beautifully

The phone is bought in Europe (Croatia) in T-Mobile. I am still under contract so my provider wont let me unlock my phone or give me any code for it. Before XL i had Samsung Galaxy Mini and i found some tool on XDA forum to unlock phone to work on all networks so i thought maybe someone knows some tool like that so i can unlock my XL. The point is that someone told me if i unlock my phone to work on all networks that way i will be able to unlock my bootloader, to be honest i dont know if that is true or not. When i check bootloader status it says "Bootloader unlock : not allowed". So i am actually finding a way to be able to unlock my bootloader. When i talked with my provider about that they don't know **** about it or they just wont tell me. So i would be very helpful if anyone could give me any advice or tutorial how to change bootloader status to allowed. I allready got the code from sony to unlock bootloader and all the tools i need to do it but i am afraid to start the process so i don't brick or brake my phone in any way since my bootloader status is set to not allowed. Thank you.
If say not allowed u are out of Lucky (we )

Bump.
I've got an Xperia E that is sim locked and I need to unlock it. Can't unlock the bootloader though.
Not really familiar with Sony phone either as I usually stick with Sammy and HTC and just need a backup phone.
Thanks,
Hey guys,
I've just picked up a Xperia Z3 but the phone is locked to vodafone and has a vodafone branded firmware on it.
Is there anyway of unlocking this phone so I can use my o2 sim in it? or do I have to request a unlock code from voda?
Lastly, is it possible to flash a generic firmware on it so it gets rid of all vodafone crap? If so, how and is there any
downsides to doing this?
Let me know, Thanks!

Hi did you flash the generic image? Did it unlock the SIM lock to use on other networks? If not what did you do to use it on other networks?
Thanks!

Flashing ftf will not change the sim lock.
I recently purchased a T-mobile Xperia Z3 D6616 with the hopes of using it internationally but it seems it can't be unlocked traditionally by entering unlock code. When inserting a non t-mobile sim there is no prompt to enter unlock code. Since i am not a T-mobile customer i can not utilize the "Device Unlock" app that comes pre-installed on the ohone. So my question is... Is there any other method of sim unlocked the T-mobile branded Xperia Z3 D6616?
Try flashing a generic ftf and see if it asks you for a unlock code
Thanks for your response. I actually tried to flash the generic d6603 ftf but to no avail. Just got back a lot of errors in flashtool. Do you know if the have a generic ftf for the d6616?

As far as I know no, espescially since bootloader in also not unlockable yet, only way is to be on contract with the phone on T-Mobile for at least 45 days. Also you are better off getting other versions of the Z3 as they support a lot more LTE bands.
Thanks for your response. I guess i'll try contacting T-mobile customer service to see if they can offer any advice.
Thanks again.
Are you a T-Mobile customer in the US going on trips or did you just buy it to use it in your home country?
Purchased it for use in the West Indies but looks like I won't be able to use it after all.
Better return it and get the international version. Even in US D6603 is the unlocked version.
The D6616 has only 3 LTE bands and may not be compatible in your area, for LTE service. Only advantage of the D6616 is that it has 32GB vs 16GB for other versions.
Would it be possible to create a flashable generic ftf for the z3 d6616 by editing some of the files of the generic d6603 ftf?
No
Ok, thanks for your response.
helpme please

Unfortunately the only to sim unlock the Xperia Z3 D6616 seems to be through T-mobile.

Its an over the network unlock. No TMO no unlock. Only way around will be if you root which we can't as of now.
Only way
The only way I managed to unlock it was using the unlock app and meet the requirements from t-mobile to work (like been a t-mobile customer).
when you guys with the unlocked D6616 go to the service menu does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: yes or does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: no. i used the app to unlock and it says no

Hi Guys, While Trying to unlock my D6616 I have Found the File com.android.setting.IccLockSettings, Which not Edit able Currently i have Attached the Screenshots to Show what i am seeing and Doing. My Xperia Z3 D6616 is not Rooted and Bootloader is unlocked too. and i have deleted all T-Mobile Applications and using the Shortcut master I found this File. Please Push me thanks if it helps
hi
i have a d6616 tmobile version and bought the unlock code, non able to input the code, and not able to unlock with the stock app, dual recovery installed and rooted already, is there a way to put the simunlockapp.apk in the system and then using titanium backup pro, to make it internal so after rebooting, simunlock code prompting?
or to flash a rom that prompts the code
or is there any metropcs z3 rom that surely can be flashed even with locked bootloader to tmobile version?
any help
than you very much indeed
On some phones like the Sprint LG G2 there was a work around using root and the HTC M8 using root+SuperCID, but is most cases root won't help with the SIM Lock.
Only thing you can do is, give it to a TMO user for 40 days and then T-Mobile will unlock it, over the air after you call them.
