hi people,
I have an asus tf300tg, unfortunately i've broke the touch screen. the version is the 5158n FPC-1 which is otherwise known as white label. I bought the new touch screen with the same code but it doesn't works.
I tried to do the restore factory setting with the power + volume down buttons, but nothing happened.
can someone tell me why? There is a thread that can help me?
I'm not expert so I would need a step by step guide.
thanks in advance to all who help me.

Have you found a solution yet? If you haven't go to this thread fro remedies. Again, spending more money on a 5158n is totally unnecessary; could have wasted it on beer instead.:

You don't need a keyboard to reflash the touch firmware unless you need to tick USB debugging. You can do that with a 10 dollar usb adapter and a regular mouse instead. But you do need to check your hardware. Scan pages 11-14 about the coil. If it's burned, no touchscreen will work.

hi,
i don't have good news, when arrived the keyboard i've updated the OS but the touch still doesn't works, then i thought that was burned the coil and i've ordered a new one, i installed it but the touch still doesn't works.
in the settings, the version of the touch screen panel is now: ELAN-0000-0000.
I tried to update to the new OS, but it's still ELAN-0000-0000.
anyone has any suggestions before I decide to throw him against the wall?
thanks

The burned coil, if it's burned, is located on the motherboard next to the ts board connector (flat silver cable), not the ts board itself. What new one did you order?

Look at the enclosed thumb and try to locate the same coil on your motherboard to see if it's burned or not. If it is, a new TS board won't help.

I replaced the motherboard on my bricked tf300t. It boots and stops at the "Welcome" set up screen the reason is the touch doesn't work. I found out that I need defferent touch firmware. I've tried the usb doggle but I guess it doesn't get far enough into the OS to pick up the mouse. Any who I was gonna sell it on a auction site but I have no Idea how much to ask. Its a 16gb version, black, 2 chargers and a usb doggle, screen is in like new condition and so is the back. Any Idea's on how much to charge because I'm done mucking around with this thing. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hey Mr. Mod if this is not supposed to be here please delete it and I'm sorry in advanced.

Hello!
I own a TF 300T wich was bought a year and a half ago. A year ago the display appeared broken and since today I didn't did a further investigation on "what is broken".
I have tried using the search option, didn't find my problem there.
The screen is cracked (or I think), it seems to turn on but I can only see some white light and the crack itself.
The touch screen is in perfect state (or it seems to) but since I can't see anything I don't know how to check if it works, I touch everything and there is no hepatic response.
I tryed to use [email protected] but my device is not recognized but I can acces the internal storage from windows (7), may be usb debugg is not ticked =S
The tablet is not rooted and the bootloader is not unlocked.
All I wan't to know is if the touch is working for only buy the LCD display on ebay, since I can't buy at this moment the touch digitizer (I have to pay 85% of taxes that my country, Argentina, wants to take from me).
I don't know if connectin the mini HDMI to an HDMI capable monitor/tv will help me since I don't own the needed cable (and maybe these is the best way).
Maybe there is a way to cast the tablet screen by some other way.
I just want to know your opinion to avoid throwing money away for something that wont work.
Thanks a lot and kind regards.

You could try a VNC app to view on the computer you srcreen via WiFi, but idk how you will open it and set it up.. The HDMI is a good idea, and the cable is only a few dollars , but I would suggest just replacing the digitizer or buying a new tablet. :crying:

Good luck. There are several guides to dissembling the tf300t around xda and replacing the screen or digitizer.
I decided to learn tablets..so I took on a TF300T repair for a friend to start learning.Looks like this TF300T was the wrong choice.
Background.
TF300T Original digi was shattered and was barley working. possible ghost touches
Andriod 4.2.1
Original Digi 5158N FPC-1 06WW 2010 on the sticker JA-DA5158N-IBB 18140-10120500
I did check a few post before I bought a digitizer saw the issues with mixing different versions. So I went with an ebay digi from china with the 5158 model. I received the new on visual inspection it looks exactly the same. New Digi revived no white label but printed in small black ink on the new digi says 5158 12.28 D4\ 11205019701012D. At the bottom in white ink it says 5158N FPC-1 06WW 1225. seems like a match
I replaced the cracked screen went pretty smoothly. I put double sided tape on the digitizer plastic frame after cleaning the old junk off. I did not remove the top cover from the new tape,I just put the unit back together without screw so I could make sure it worked the plan was to test, re tear down then glue/tape the new digitizer down after I tested. Well I get no touch after the 5158N to 5158N swap.
unit loaded the first time and updated the camera firmware but not the touch
I did check the fuse on the main PCB around the LCD/touch connectors and found no burning.
the first time I powered the unit up with the new digi the screen jitterd a bit but no touch. after resetting the cables still no touch. the jitters stopped.. So at this point I ordered a USB adapter to connect a mouse.
This morning I received the mouse connector. went into settings it said. Touchpanel version ELAN-3011-4822 Kernal version 3.1.10-g215ac8bf
Also had a message about DMClient has stopped on first boot. went away after a few reboots.
Today I tried a cold boot after reading some post. It booted up showing the three icons RK/ANDRIOD/WIPE.. up at the top I got the following line:
andriod cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "U5_epad-10.6.1.27.5-20130902" A03
key driver not found...booting 05
starting Fastboot USB download protocol
at this point in the cold boot booting the mouse and keyboard seem to be unresponsive. If I hit vol up I get booting kernal recovery image then i get an android logo and big error message sits there and then boots up normal.Still no touch.
After 1st cold boot I went back to check the touchpanel version and now it says ELAN-0000-0000 the Kernal version is a tad different now its 3.1.100-G215ae8bf
Is this normal and Ive missed something? Could it not be working because I ave not glued the new 5158 to the plastic frame?
Do i need to root the device then flash the touch firmware? Seems to me that it should have just accepted the new 5158 and worked that's why i spent the extra cash to avoid this kind of issue.
Any words of wisdom from some TF300T gurus would be a big help!
Forgot to mention at the time i replaced the touch digitizer I did not know to turn the service switch off. the battery was drained as it had ran down to nothing because I could not touch the power off. hopefully this didn't screw me?

Barring any hardware malfunction, the only way to find out is to root the thing and flash the firmware anew through ADB. This issue has been discussed so many times, it hardly warrants a new thread.

Thanks for the response. I apologize for the new thread, most of the other threads seem to deal with swapping mis matched digitizers and then flashing the rom. I thought because mine was an exact digitizer match it may be a different situation. i was just hoping that my experience had rung a bell and someone may point out my error.
At this point I'm pretty sure its not hardware the microsd card reader that shares the touch digitizer board works. and the touch ELAN chanaged to 0000-0000 only after I did a cold boot.

Hi, i have the exact same issue. Also the system/etc/firmware/touch folder does not exist. I made it and put inside fw. The device whenever reboots it doesnt automatically update fw from the touch folder as it should. Through adb shell i always get error. Seems like the mobo not recognising digitizer. I also put the old broken one and still the same ELAN-0000-0000 i also forgot the off switch but i cant find any "weird" coil. Any help would be appreciated. I have read the other thread and learned a lot but nothing specific to this problem. Also my micro sd port was not working and i really thought was the pcb, but then i manually updated to the latest asus fw (from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1) and instantly micro sd works. When it wan on 4.1.1 i could find the touch folder and 04-3021-7038.ekt was inside (no label digitizer was the broken one and the new i bought as well). After the 4.2.1 update the touch folder disappeared and had to remake it. Tried with 04-3021-7038 and 02-3011-4820
Hi all
Recently changed my battery on my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-DL00 re assembled and now the digitizer will not work, I have read on the internet I may need to do a hard reset however I cannot do this as I need to type YES on the hard reset screen.
I have tried a new digitizer also and this still did not work, the socket the screen/digitizer plugs into all looks good no dirt etc. I have Also tried putting the old battery back in and still no luck.
Ribbon cables all look fine as well.
Is anyone able to provide any suggestions please.
Many thanks

Or figure out what you own in an attempt to find out or narrow down from the many posts/ info and contribute to further discourse, apparently.
If looking for support, you've got to help others here help you, which does require a little effort. If that's not for you, probably contacting the reseller should be a first call. You might have tried the reseller, but how one can know without your commentary.

Tried the seller, now since 6 months, so far no help. Have not found any one that had the same problem, but thanks for your reply anyhow
When you power off and back on, does the splash screen show up reversed? This would help indicate whether the issue is software problem vs a hardware problem. Once the unit is booted up and everything showing up backwards, do the touch screen elements respond to touch in their new reversed positions? If the on screen elements in their new positions respond to touch, that would indicate that the digitizer essentially is reversed in addition to the LCD underneath. Quite odd, indeed.
I would suggest to connect a USB mouse to the unit and use that to navigate your way to the factory reset menu and give that a try.

Thanks for your reply. Yes when staring up the splash screen is reversed as well. To use the Icons you have to touch the screen on the opposite side of where the icon is displayed. I will try the suggestion with the mouse to navigate and report back,
Thanks again
