Front camera off centre? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a weird issue, when on skype with someone, I usually have the tablet central to my face, but recently the front camera has kinda gone off centre if that makes sense and therefore I have to tilt it away from my face to get the camera looking directly at my face. Not helpful when you're on skype, anyone have any suggestions cheers, only a small tilt is needed to adjust the camera angle but its still quite annoying

Front facing camera alignment

Guys, could you check something on your sensation: whether the front facing camera pin hole is perfectly in the middle of the lens circle? On my sensation, it sits slightly above the center of the circle. Don't know whether it's designed like that or just a fluke .

Slightly above on mine. Non-issue. Everybody got their panties in a bunch over it in MT4G forums back in the day too.
Damnit it looks like HTCstill has ****ingQC problems. This and now the screen too, **** my luck

Well, good to know that their's other also like this. I mean its no biggie, and who knows, maybe it was designed to be like this. Folks, please let us know how your front camera is.
Wow.. Just wow.
Mine is off center high and to the left but the camera view doesn't seem affected by it.
they put mine on the back
its the same on all the phones, looks slightly higher from the normal viewing angle. just know it doesnt have an effect on your cameras ability to capture images/video so there is no cause for concern. just more ocd phone owners, but i guess we all tick like that
Yeah..same as mine. Slightly up side..

Camera pictures are coming out with too much red in them

Sorry I dont have a picture right now, but I will post one soon. So when I'm outside my picture are turning everyones faces red. And have already reset camera values, but it is still doing it. Also the other night when I took a video, some of the video was coming out in negative colors. I know that people are saying that there is a EMC interference with the camera, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and have any suggestions on how to fix it.
I have seen this with some lighting in my house, but when I'm outside it appears fine

Adding a Front facing camera?

Does this work with the Showcae? My dad just got his Galaxy S and is asking soo many question, and wants to know if you can add a front facing camera. I too would like to know this as I hate using my netbook to skype. Would this work?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770854
Really doubt it.
It would be a hell of a lot more work than you would probably want/be able to do, and would extremely void your warranty and probably not work right even if it were possible.

Maybe if you flipped the regular camera over to the front. But as for having two cameras? There's no firmware our software to make it work that I've seen....better off just buying a phone with one than going through all that hassle!

There is a connector on the board that isnt used on the underside of the PCB. However there is no molding on the case to hold another camera. My suspicion is that the extra connector is for a FFC on that particular revision of PCB, Where that camera goes on the Vibrator Motor is, and even if you removed that it would require a lot of modding with a knife and a drill to get it to fit.. Totally not worth it at all as others have said.
There is a video on you tube on how to do this. How ever we need a rom that would support it, I believe the european samsung galaxy s has a front facing camera?

Can you fix a dead camera pixel?

I seem to have a dead pixel in my camera which not only shows up in the camera's viewfinder, but also is present in the actual pictures once they're taken and saved. The screen itself is fine and after doing some reading online I've found that some digital cameras have an option to "clean" the camera sensor but I cannot seem to be able to find an app that will do that. Does anyone know of a fix for something like this?

(edited for clarification)
The only dead pixel apps in the market seem to be for finding those in the screen itself, nothing for the camera.

Kvswim- never happened before. The last picture I had taken and saved in my gallery was on 11/17 and there was no dead pixel then. But every time I open the camera, Goggles, or any camera app at all the dead pixel is in the same spot. It's tiny but you can zoom in on it on any picture that I take.

How would I do that? There is nothing on the very outside plastic covering. Either there is something on the sensor itself or it contains dead pixels.

Yeah. Stuck pixel fixers work on the principle that a pixel isn't actually dead, but simply stuck. some actually die and you can't fix them. (we're talking about screens, not sensors). When a pixel gets stuck on a screen, you can keep trying to tell the pixel to shift thousands of times per minute and sometimes it will unstick it, like trying to open a rusty door.
Now on the pixel side, there isn't really a way to force it to start capturing light again and filtering the way it should. I know that the Canon Hack software/firmware for canon cameras have dead-pixel-finders so that you can compensate for the dead pixels, (via filtering in software) and you might be able to find something similar for Android, but it seems doubtful to find this for the phones.
sorry dude. Like they said, you might try cleaning the lens intricately. It could be something that is stuck right there in front.
I have the exact same problem. Three black smudges that are there and show up in every camera app, the viewfinder and even after the pictures are saved. It wasn't happening up until before a month or two ago. The smudges are almost translucent because i can almost see a bit of light coming through them so they might not be the lens. Never seen this happen before on any camera. I even tried cleaning it off very well but that doesn't fix it. Any suggestions?
Just called VZW Tech Support this afternoon... they're overnight shipping me a new Charge which should be here tomorrow afternoon.
same problem
I am also having the same problem.
The pixels are dead and showing a black thick line which destroys the pics.
First I thought that it may be dirt so I cleaned the camera but nothing happened I then realised that the line is not changing with focus or else its intensity should change with focus also when I zoom the pic its size also increases and looks very odd.
By viewing it, it is clear that its not dirt but the pixels are dead.
Pls help me I am a photographer and I only have my android phone as my camera..
It will destroy my photos.
i also have problem with my phone, im not sure if it's a dead pixel.
it only shows when im using the camera i can see red dot when i take picture in black or any dark background. it really annoys me. please i need help . can i still fix it?
I had that problem with my motoe6plus. Ir seems that the default software for the camera doesnt force the potencial of the camera itself.(thats what i think) so it fixed with the 'open camera' app. IT waS verry irritating for me so i hope youll fondo a solution

[Q] Camera lens of centered

Hi I just got my new Note 5 from T-mobile and I noticed main camera is not dead center unlike my note 3 or other phones I have I went back to the T-mobile store and guys there noticed the same thing and we checked the one on the display none of them were centered actually any body know about this issue store guys did not want to exchange it because they are all like that they said. any body know anything about this issue?
Mine is the same way, went to the store and we looked at the displays... All the same. =/ The guy suggested it might be because it's their first unibody design, which sounds plausible.
Camera lens of centered
Just confirmed with tmo tech that it should dead centered and mine sounds very loose clicking when moving phone around.
I think Samsung made some defective phones again lust like note 4 camera issues.
I believe it is due to the lens stabilization. If you turn the camera lens to face you, then open the camera app, the lens snaps to center, and visibly moves as the phone shakes.

You sir are absolutely correct! I found this out later last night as well.
Fwiw both mine and my wife's S6 have a lens that moves off center. It doesn't affect pictures or videos in the least.
Mine was recording clicking sound made by camera moving around as phone shake when recording video at tmobile store guys recorded video in storage room where it's very quiet I returned it I don't think I'll buy another note5 or any samsung phone untill they start to make good devices, my wife has the s6+ and does not any issues that I had with the note5.

What do you mean by this ISO?. I think you meant to say this is OIS which is moving camera lens assembly yes it should move and wiggle when not in use, when in use it should move to compansate motion and it shouldn't make clicking sound that records in to the video.
Foy your information if I was intrested to iphone I would buy one instead of an android device with or without OIS built-in $800.00 device premium price premium device I expected from samsun.
Don't forget this is a forum that people exchange information bounce ideas between each other.
Don't get nasty and mean.
If I did not share my thoughts than I wouldn't be doing my part in this forum.

I don't understand how your camera lens is making such a clicking noise laud enough to be caught by your mic... If that's the case than that's really something wrong. And peopel are over reacting returning their phone for lensbnot being centered when that's normal if you want recordba video and while spinnign stop recording and you will see how the lens is not straight
