the two types are with and without the front cam,
i suggest you buy the one with front cam because its not easy to get stick and precise the lines,.

looks like i got the same problem. i only can be the flex cable in my case - when the phone is opened, there are no problems, when i close the phone, or blur the display part a little, the screen goes off, the digitizer stops working, and when i'm in a call, i notice that the phonespeaker/mic are dead.
after a few minutes of waiting the phone freezes, and i have to reboot it when its slided out, or it won't recognize the screen and keeps black...
DAMN dat. i got it in december, but i'm a heavy user. i disassambled the back part and took a look, but i think its broken on the other side.
that flex cable at parts4repair is out of stock.... hope they'll have it soon..

I dissasembled mine too, but i cant see anything on the cable... but i'm sure it is the fault. i sent parts4repair.com a message over their contact formular a few days ago, but they didn't reply yet..

Hello,
my new HTC Sensation worked fine. But since 4 days it seems that a ghost it touching the tochpad all time when the cellphone is charging.
So you can't use it while it is charging...
If you remove the power plug everything is fine again.
Has anybody had the same problem?

Just use another charger. Or touch the metal frame with your other hand. Its a problem with grounding .. next time please use search no need for yet another touchscreen thread

Hahaha it will, i also have this problem with a usual USB charger until i touch the frame.. or use the HTC charger
you can also fix this by charging it on your computer via USB...some say battery lasts even more

i had this problems whit the sensation charger.... i think the "0" on the charger is the problem... the micro usb cable is ok... just try diffrend htc model charger... i try Desire, wildfire charger withou any problems...
Try a different charger...
If it's the same, try the link from my sig. It's the only touchscreen fix available and it was just confirmed that it works for problems like yours

The HTC charger is defective!!! Do not use.
Get another micro USB charger. I picked up a Samsung micro USB charger from a friend and it works great. No more ghosting =)

I agree 100%, either tinky1's thread or zmlf's thread SHOULD be a stickie thread here. I mean the methods given in both threads have been more than proven that they work. I will send as mod a message myself also to see about getting one of the threads a stickie. So zmfl message me with the name of the mod you message and I will contact them too.

Hi there! I had the same problem no matter what charger I used! However I used a shielded USB cable to reduce the interference from any charger. I ceated a thread on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072354 for more details.
Is the dock supposed to do this?
Everytime I'm typing via the dockkeyboard and make a typo or have a reason to backspace, I have to initially (Sometimes several times whilst composing) press on the screen within the text input area in order to get the [Backspace] key on the dock keyboard to actually function correctly and backspace/delete so I can correctly type what I want.???

Thanks for clearing that up. I actually just got the dock after upgrading to JB so I hadnt known it any other way. Hopefully there will be a fix as it's rather annoying.

Yea, as seems to go with my life, I always seem to do the wrong thing at the wrong time. Waited to pull the trigger on an "Open Box" special via ebay for this dock just recently and AFTER the upgrade to JB and this whole issue is making me think I had a defective one.
Such a pain in the ass having to move up and manually touch into the screen whilst typing when I want to initiate a backspace/correction.
Jeez, And I haven't even taken advantage of the built in USB or SDCard ports yet which I understand Post-JB have also caused MAJOR issue(s) such as random reboots.
Why oh why ASUS. We appreciate the speedyness of the JB upgrade but how can it go through quality control with these types of glaring issues present.

Personally, I've yet to try this and now I'm scared. Do not want to have to do a damn factory reset. And I'm now running with Sean's Hydro JB Rom and very pleased with it other than the damn JB dock/keyboard bug I mentioned.
Update: Curiosity got the best of me so I just tried it with a USB/SD adapter via the USB port and had no issue and it recognized the DIR contents on the card just fine.
I tried factory reset and cold reboot doesnt work either tried reflash and custom rom nothing. Before jb it worked fine and the sticks are working on other devices

Registered to this forum JUST to reply here. Hello all and YES I have this problem ALOT. It really niggles me because I'm a) fat fingered and b) a regular forum poster on other forums. But I'm not limited to backspace failure. Have you tried to select text lazer? Shift_arrow key used to select text but not any more.I cant use the keyboard to select text at all now. That has to be done via screen. And using the arrow keys to move amongst text has limited functionality as well. Now when I get to the end of text (like that which I am typing now) pressing down would take me to the next selectable thing on my screen (in this instance the post icon) and using the up arrow would take me out of this text box and int the 'title' box and then to the image verication wotsit. Its driving me bananas.
All this has started happening since I installed Jelly bean. There is often lag between my typing and the text appearing in screen (though notably not in this text box) and selecting text om the screen seems to have become alot harder too. I've seen myself have to touch the screen and hold down backspace for AGES just to delete a selection of text rather than use the shift_arrow keys to select text and then hit backspace to delete it all.
Is a fix for this on the way? :crying:

The odd time while in FB I can't respond to a comment, the keyboard doesn't pop up, with or without the dock attached.
Just now my trackpad isn't working right.
Turned off/on the trackpad and for the first few seconds it worked, but then it stopped again.
Restarted still nothing, I'm on JB OTA, up until now it was working fine....anyone have similar problems?
EDIT: Just tried to reconnect the keyboard and now it`s working......

I've seen similar problems to yours dotted all over the internet. I suspect in their rush to get JB out Asus didnt iron out all the problems. My Asus was brand new in July and now its riddled with problems.

Now I got issues with the gyro.
If I try to play marble maze or use smart tools apk to measure levels the tab doesn't react correctly.
If I tilt front/back the marble/bubble goes left /right.
If I tilt left/ right the marble/ bubble goes front back.
Anyone has the idea for the issue ?

Just to make sure, did you already try to reset your tablet via the pinhole? (It didn't for me, but that was a troubleshooting step in the manual.)

You can try to calibrate the sensor using Advanced Tools
Go to Device->Sensor Analyzer->Accel, then put the tablet on a flat surface and hit Reset

hey! I have recently dropped my Xperia Z5 E6653 and had to get the display repaired!
now I found out that the notification led is dead (not a big deal) and nobody can hear me during a call! I tested it usng the service menu and the secondary microphone works fine but the other one does not! thats why I ordered a new one for 15 buck s and installed it myself (it is placed net to the charging port) but it still isnt working! I have already resetted the phone and downgraded to marshmallow but no succes what can cause the trouble?

it is definetly not a software issue! I've tried several ftf files and none of them fixed the problem...

Has brought out the center of sony center warranty replacement microphones.
Hi, new system update is available in Germany. After the experiences of last updates I have some concerns to update now. Current version is not bug free, but at least usable. Mainly the too low volume in voice notices e.g. in whatapp is annoying. So I don't want to make it again worse with new update.
Has already somebody updated?

I can nkot establish any BT connection with another phone/tablet at all.
They pair and then they disappear.
Connection with my headphones/car still work fine.
Everything was good pre-android10.
IMO this is the biggest issue with the a10 patch: not all users seem to be affected in the same way... No idea why

Hello cryss83,
I had no BT problems with my H8324 with last Android 10 version. With newest update I just tried:
- connecting to a Samsung phone, sending a file, was okay
- connecting to my Win10 notebook was okay
- connecting/using handsfree in 2 different cars was okay
Maybe there is a difference between H8314 and H8324, or maybe you should repair/flash again with Sony Companion. Maybe this could help....
So generally about the new Update on my mobile:
- Fingerprintsensor is still laggy
- Volume of voice messages and in video calls is okay
- battery life seems to be okay (checked/used since yesterday)
- no other problems (with the functions I used)

Hi Etac88, please wait with update. I wrote one post before that battery lifetime is okay. Now I load second time and it seems that at the moment battery consumption is still high when screen is off (5% per hour). So if you are not in a hurry please wait a bit. I will see over weekend how it goes on and report again...

Funny enough I just received an email from Sony Germany Customers Service saying that unfortunately a bluetooth connection with my devices is not possible any longer due to an incompatibility since android10, so that even the sony transfer software won't work any longer and that i should send in my phone (which i refuse at the moment, at least i want a backup device first from sony since it is their fault - not mine).
" Leider ist eine direkte Bluetooth-Verbindung mit Ihren Geräten seit Android 10 wegen einer Inkompatibilität nicht mehr möglich, so dass auch die Transfer-App von Sony mit den aktuellen Modellen nicht mehr funktioniert.
Bitte lassen Sie die Hardware bzw. den Sensor von unserem Servicepartner überprüfen.

That is downright bizarre. I assume it is a problem with some but not all bt modules on the xz2c. Otherwise why would all other phones' bt work ok?!

No idea, but my wife's xz2 (non-compact) has the same issue. I've sent them a video of me trying to establish a bt connection to another phone/tablet... Hopefully this will help in this regard.

Good to know but sadly it's true... Sorry to hear.
Please contact sony support to build up some more pressure... It can't be true that bt is not working any longer properly.
They should get their hands off their asses and should try to find a solution... Not to mention desktop-mode

Hi - I like to share experience about battery lifetime again. For me it is same level than last versions of Android 10. Sometimes I have bad lifetime because of big consumption while screen is off. Once I had 3.3%/h, that means after 10 hours more than 30% were gone without using the phone. Then I reboot phone, and typically consumption becomes better (sometimes a bit less than 1%/h, which is satisfying for me - I would say Android 9 behavior).
I could not find the reson why sometimes the consumption is so high (no special use of phone, and no special apps). I cannot remember that I had those situations in Android 9, that sometimes it is very good and sometimes very bad. Can anybody report about her/his experience with new Rom-update?

For me, the latest update has helped with the general sluggishness from previous Android 10 releases but the two major complaints I had are still definitely present:
- Almost unusable fingerprint sensor.
- Inconsistent battery life, very similar to @odiad's report above. And even after a fresh reboot, it seems in any case generally worse than with Android 9.
Inability to consistently unlock my phone with the fingerprint sensor has been the bane of my life (I have a very uninteresting life) since Android 10 was rolled out.

Update to 52.1.a.2.1 just installed:
Fingerprint improved a lot for me... I haven't tested the other bugs (bluetooth e.g.) yet
Edit: no improvement for bluetooth connections with other smartphones/tablets

Jeez! Can they even do it at all?!
Seems not... According to sony they are still working on the bluetooth issue (we'll see about that)
But i guess it is the same reason why i had to install 5mio updates with a fresh/new sony xz2... Instead of just 3 or 4.
