[Discussion][Pre-Alpha][4.1.2] XWLSD stock JellyBean

Guys,
As u always know that i make hurry while making threads for Devs to have discussions. but this time i beg u guys to make our great buddy honor for his work.
Adam77root-> the man, who did a marvelous work again with his greatness. Now, let me give an honor to announce that we got stock JB pre-alpha rom for Galaxy R.
so, this is the discussion thread for the same.
Please note that this rom isn't made for daily driver. but i m sure that our and Adam efforts will make it soon.
It is stock Samsung JellyBean based on the latest WanamLite rom.
Features:
* Based on Android 4.1.2 JellyBean
* Based on Samsung Galaxy S2 XWLSD (changelist: 889555)
* Based on WanamLite rom V14.1
* It has all the nice features a stock Samsung JB rom can offer (MultiWindow, better AllShare integration, new TouchWiz interface)
What works:
* It boots
* BlueTooth
* Both SD cards
* Vibration
* Sound
There are a lot of bugs! It's definitely not ready for being a daily driver.

Installation instructions:
* Do a full wipe
* Flash with recovery
* Reboot and wait (first boot takes approximately 3 minutes)

requesting adam to add package installer.apk in /system/app folder. so that we can install applications from memories. also pls add catlog and Esfile explorer to get root excess.
I have manually added the above files from ICS. but after zipping all stuff and flashing, i stuck at galaxy R logo.

Correct. That statusbar needs TouchWiz and that's why it only works on stock roms.

buddy can you do the needful for the same what i have given above. means a logcat and esfile manager with package installer adding in rom??

Package installation handling is not yet included in the rom. It will be at a later stage.

Waiting eagerly for an update to make it a daily driver

I love this Rom more than Official CM 10.1 Nightlies reasons are
1. Samsung default Task manger I love it (maybe because I very used to it)
2. Motion sensor setting which is missing in CM 10.1 :crying: (for useing flip to silent and changing music track, I know alternative application are available in the market but they are not accurate)
3. Samsung stock call blocker and sim tracking support
4. 3g video calling button for video call
5. call recording may be good in this rom because it's stock Rom :silly: (cm10.1 record calls but 1.8x speed and only dice player can run that call record but in ICS all player can do that)
I see that dailer bottons at bottom are are little cut may be because of screen size difference between S2 (4.3) and SGR (4.19) lol :laugh:
so Adam77root mate plz keep working on this ROM whenever you have free time :fingers-crossed: because I don't want to force you as per xda forum rule

Motion actions will not work. It needs native code.

buddy the motion feature is working in cm10.1 (i just tested it in the alarms.. i dont know if the flip to silent phone calls is a touchwhiz feature or not so cant say much about that)

Installation instructions so If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked bootloader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed
1. Copy the downloaded ProBAM to your phone.
2. Boot into your custom recovery
3. Back up your ROM
4. Enter custom recovery - try update your recovery if have issues on install
5. Make full wipe "included "system"
6. Select Recommended kernel for first install
7. Install the ROM
8. install GAPPS package
9. Reboot - the first boot can take up to 2 minutes

Just tried this rom, the wifi doesn't seem working. I didn't try it much as I needed the wifi so I restored my daily driver.

I too have found that Wi-Fi isn't working, i9305LTE, which is a deal breaker for me.
Other than that, seems pretty smooth and slick, so will give it a go, and maybe use as a daily driver when fixed.
Shame! :crying:

Just used agni cm kernel. WiFi works now.

I too can't restore apps via Titanium.
Tried your suggestion....but no joy.

You should not be restoring apps via titanium.

I went to tb and in preferences I changed the backup folder location to /emulated/legacy/Titaniumbackup and I can now restore apps.
Another thing I noticed that while using browser, every time I scroll, the nav bar disappears and then re-appears

Im now unrooted and with stock recovery, what to do..
ROMmanager wont let me install CWMrecovery and farmaroot wont let me root..

It was preroot but you should turn it on by yourself.

here are some screenshots to those of you that are curious.
Review :
1. Boot animation is not like Fluffy's Note 3 ROM. This ROM boot animation is "ANDROID"
2. For my HDC Legend, Fluffy's camera driver is the best. There is no lagging. But i think there's 2-3 version of camera hardware on HDC legend. That is why camera outcome might be different for some users.
3. Air Gesture works in this ROM
4. Unlock animation is "beam effect" type, and its smooth. Fluffy's note 3 is "water effect" type.
5. This ROM is really smooth and the colors are nicer, more vibrant.
6. Haptic feedback when you press "back" or "menu" button is nicer.
7. CWM is this ROM is different.
8. Finally, When in Youtube app, your search font wont be in white anymore. White on white. It's fixed! finally!

Nice rom mate!! But you have some bugs still to work on.
1- the settings colors in some apps are very dark,, like calendar...
2- the camera need some improvement, i can only choose 6 mpx when in full screen mode.
3- the toolkit app (the app with an simcard icon) doesnt run for me or at least doesn't open.
4- change the boot animation,, at least for the samsung or the no.1 s6
That's all for the moment. I still have to check the gps and try some more things.

For the camera there is a workaround:
Go to camera settings 4:3 put 13mp and swith full view then you have 13mp
Otherwise you can use the googlecamera here is the link

Install init.d toggler from playstore enable init.d place the script file to system/etc/init.d/

I tried the gps and i have the impression that is working worst. I'm almost incapable of getting any signal.
Just a queation: do you k ow if is plssible to port a mtk6582 rom to this phone, in that platform the gps seems to work bettef with the same gps module(mt6628 as far as i know)

Did you configured fastergps and also made this setup in location services:
go To Location Acces "GPS Sattelites" check "GPS EPO Settings" check "A-GPS" go to EPO Settings" check "Auto download" Download
With tomtom it works well.
Concerning to port mtk6582 rom didnt try yet but I will have a look to see if it is possible

I tried with fastergps and the other app you include in the rom. I also tried with mobileuncle and that tricks but i got nothing. My gps was always slow but normaly it fix position.

[Q] Changing ROM... but Really CONFUSED !

plannig to change ROM on my N5. Currently its running Cataclysm+ElementalX.
So i just cheked xda nd am really confused
i was palnning for Euphoria.:fingers-crossed:
nd i saw optipop , resurrection remix nd more.
so which one i want to choose ?

Personally I chose Cataclysm.
I don't like that much ROM based on cyanogen. I tried but I like more stock things. Anyway... Just try yourself and choose

bt it has low customisation nd it also dont have theme manager

I'm on DU atm and it works wery well. With the theme engine, you could flash CM, RR, BlissPop, Euphoria, Terminus, AICP, Screw...

Search RRO Layers.

Layers.....
It's like a theme manager. Uses different method for themeing though compared to Cm theme engine.
ROMS based out of stock which support layers can be themed using Layers Manager. Search in the play store for layers manager for more info

i have made this flashable zip for those using an aosp rom and missing the stock sounds (ringtones, alarms and notifications sounds)
i have tested it on my d855 on both cm 12.1 and euphoria-os

Thanks, does it overwrite/make you loose the stock current cm 12.1 sounds or does it just add to them?

The files don't have the same names so it adds them. You'll have both aosp and stock sounds.
