HTC Sensation (early x-mas gift) Stuck on CM9 boot-up screen - HTC Sensation

Hello,
I have gone through the other threads that looked similar to this problem but I found nothing that worked there.
HBOOT - 1.27.0000
S-On
Unocked.
I went through the stages on the HTC website, got everything set up with Super User . I then backed-up and went to load up CM 9.
It basically just hangs in the little boot animation.
I tried using superclean (I think it was called that) It did not work.
I can get into the bootloader and clockworkmod touch but I cannot seem to get an image to work.
I tried one of the CM nightlies and it just hung at it's animation boot up screen also.
Can anyone help me please?

Hi,
You don't need a superwipe scriptm As you have s-on, you just flash boot.img inside the ROM.zip through fastboot, in this way:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
SENT FROM WHATEVER IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE LOCKED AT, THE THING IS THAT IT IS SENT.

[Q] Sensation no rom

Hi All, I have been a long way down trying different roms having rooted, SOFF, loading CWM recovery..... all with the help of great articles on this site, which I'm grateful for. However I slightly messed up and cant figure out how to get back to where i was. I deleted the rom software I was running in preparation for loading a different rom but I accidently pulled the battery before the replacement rom was installed. On booting the phone hung on the HTC screen. I can boot into the fastboot but when I try to load recovery the screen goes dark, I presume reboot, and hangs on the HTC screen. Is there a zip file I can load onto the micro sd that will load a rom automatically to get me back?
Many thanks

Hi,
Everything looks good in your hboot area.
Look HERE
Step 1. Flashing 4EXT recovery touch
Get 4 EXT flashed onto your phone.
One of the 3 methods will work.
Place a ROM on your sd card
Then, format all partitions (except sd card).
And flash away.

I'm in a very similar position where I can't get a booting rom.
I've tried a number of ways to achieve S-OFF to no success.
HBOOT is 1.18.000.
CID is HTC__038 (India).
Firmware is 1.52.720.3 (I think).
It's currently unlocked using the HTC dev method, and I've got the EXT4 recovery.
I've tried adding the CID to Europe RRU updates, but that always errors in a 12: Signature failed.
I've tried reloading the stock recovery and relocking the phone.
From what I can tell, to S-OFF for 1.18 requires a bootable rom, which I just can't achieve right now.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
You can always flash a matching RUU.

Unfortunately a matching RUU doesn't seem to exist. Google only finds about 4 search results, of which is most useful points back here where someone else is asking for it to no avail.
I've tried shipped-roms.com and a filefactory.com archive, but none suit this particular version.

Hi malybru, yes I've tried that one, but as the mainver is older than the 1.52.720.3 that's currently on there, it won't allow it, as I'm S-ON.

[Q] Please help unbrick???!!!!

Here is what I did....
HTC One X (ATT). Unlocked and rooted yesterday. (TWRP)
Today tried to install CM10 and GApps, got stuck on CM bootscreen, then I flashed the boot.img and it still did not work....then my immediate next step (probably stupidly) was to flash modded boot...still did not work....I just got to HTC screen with the red writing on the bottom and nothing else....
So I got into TWRP and restored to my backup (which I was able to do before the above) and just got to the same HTC screen with red type on the bottom......now I started to panic.
I tried to relock the phone...and I did but now I cant go anywhere but the fastboot screen!!!!
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you relocked already just run the ruu in fastboot and restore to stock.

Just read read and read more..be comfortable first than you'll be fine and know how to get out of any situation
Just read up and give it another go.....like anything else, sometimes you need certain thing to happen to learn....good luck.
Just saying, you flashed the boot.img after flashing the rom and gapps? The boot.img is flashed before flashing the rom
It can be done either way.
ive been seeing alot of new members soft bricking this way should read though this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957193 it explains every thing for ppl on hboot 1.14 and higher.

That is what is supposed to happen. Once you relock, you need to run the RUU. It won't boot otherwise.
I am unlocked and rooted again.....ready to try again...
I want to leave the phone alone but I cant help myself.......Anyone else have this issue???
I know what you mean, when i first got my one x and learned of rooting, i felt i was claustrophobic with normal stock. I Read and read and read some more, before I even thought about flashing roms. But I Recommenced flashing Viper JB 3.1.0 As it basically installs the boot img in the boot-loader for you. I also recommend Cm 10.1, except it does not have camera working as of yet. If you dont mind not having a camera, cm 10.1 is a very smooth rom. Also remember if flashing certain roms like cm 10. dalvik, cache and factory reset, as well as flashing the boot img are required for the rom to work. Good luck

[Q] stuck on htc logo

Hi guys.
I have a strange problem.
when I'm trying to flash custom ROMS, mostly cyanogen ROMS,
I do a full wipe and try to flash the ROM, it finishes, but when I reboot my phone it gets stuck on the HTC logo until the battery runs out and then I have to return to a different ROM.
I managed to flash cyanogen 7 but then I tried to update to 10 and again it got stuck on the HTC logo and now I cant return to cyanogen 7 even with my nandroid backup.
what can I do to fix this?
I looked all over the forum but I didn't manage to find any post with a fix for my problem
my HBOOT is 6.98.1002 and RADIO 3831.17.00.310
and I'm S-Off using revolution
and I'm currently using fallout 5.0 which lags alot (thats mainly wht I want to try the cyanogen)
any help would be very appreciated.
thanks

As a suggestion change cwm for 4ext, there have been issues with cwm not formatting the partitions properly and some issues on flashing files. Also take a look at the none Sony panel users hangout lounge, click the link in my sig and you'll find a link on post 2

it just vibrated for 7 times in a row and thats it.
I'm not even sure if it's charging when I plug it in

did you update to the latest "boot.img"
For example in "[Flinny] Andromadus Test builds - CM10.1[16]" is Kernel version 3.0.66.
I did update the kernel
After that used 4Ext v1.0.0.5 RC8 to format the system and seperate system_lib
Installed Flinny and had no problems.
I am using
HBoot : 7.00.1002

[Q] Need some help/info please (Installing CM10)

I've got an AT&T HTC One, I rooted it and installed TWRP and haven't had the down time to do much else with it, including installing a rom yet.
I don't mind the oem ATT rom but I do need the Hotspot feature to work for my wifi tablet.
I've tried to turn on the hotspot feature with a couple scripts I've found on XDA but none of them seem to work so I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to change rom to be able to use the hotspot so this morning I Downloaded CM10 and placed it on the "SDcard" of my phone. I then tried to install it with TWRP. everything goes well half way through the install and then it hangs up about 60% through, it eventually seems to time out after like 15-20 minutes of not doing anything.
I then reboot it and all I get is an infinite animated CM boot logo.... I let it sit for an hour just to make sure it wasn't just a slow install.
I reinstalled it three times and the outcome was the same each time so I tried to ADB sideload it with the same outcome.
I even went on CM's site and downloaded another copy of CM10 but it made no difference.
I ended up having to reinstall the backup I made prior to starting this so I had my phone as I needed to go run some errands.
Does anyone know why I had the issues I was having with installing CM10?
Something I did wrong? How do I get CM to install?
Thanks

On 1.14 the boot image needs to be flashed separately. Flash from fastboot..
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
The boot image is inside the Rom.zip your flashing. Keep a copy of the Rom on pc and extract files with winzip or whatever you like to use. But boot.img in adb folder and type the command, reboot and it should boot.
S-off can be done but only on a sense based Rom like viperXL.
Also read the stickies... They are there for a reason..

This is not true. I s-off'd with cm10. Though you need to enable ADB root in settings for it to work.

Make sure you're using the cm 10 for one xl (evita) and not the one x.

I'll check out the links, thanks.
I can see allot has changed since December when I last messed with the phone. Back in December Clockwork recovery wasn't supported on the ATT version of the HOX. I see it now is in a touch version.
apparently I am doing something wrong as I keep getting the same indefinite CM boot logo and can't get past it. It appears I do not fully understand the process to side load the rom.
With that said, I restored it from a backup and I guess I'll just wait until I can confidently install a rom. This phone is so much different then my previous phones and tabs in regards to how it was unlocked and the install of different roms. I didn't have any problem figuring those out but this one has more steps involved which is aiding to my confusion. Maybe I'll find a step by step for my Hboot that I can follow, in the meantime I'll just keep having to look for free wifi for my tablet while I'm out and about.
You'd think there would be an easier way to enable the wifi hotspot on the phone.... LoL
Thanks for the info guys.....truly appreciated.
Try this...

[Q] Stuck in ''entering recovery...'' htc one s

What's up everybody! This is my first post here and I am what you would call a noob!
First of all I got tired of the 4.2.2 jb upgrade never coming to my htc one s and decided to give cyanogenmod 10.1 a shot (my first attempt ever tampering with mobile software)!
So I have unlocked the bootloader on my phone following a guide. It now says ''unlocked''
After that, I have tried to flash the paul recovery.img from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 .
I have done it through adb with the command promt as it says on the article above!
The command promt apparently managed to do the job and it said ''finished'' as it should!
Then i rebooted the phone into recovery mode through the bootloader menu but it then stucks there doing nothing...I have left it for 5 minutes and it was still like that and i thought that the recovery wasn't succesful (i ve seen it going very fast at the clockworkmod menu at videos on youtube while mine was stuck). I then rebooted it by holding down the power button and it went to the sence screen normally.
Then i have tried the other recovery img described at the article...Same thing happened...Then the other one! Same thing again!
Every time i am trying to flash the recovery image the phone stucks in ''entering recovery...'' screen, doing nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help, it will be much appreciated! I really want to dig custom roms...I' m a total geek
Thanks in advance!!

To boot into recovery, Hold VolumeDown + Power.
Edit: maybe you've done that, but make sure that you choose the correct recovery version. that is, match the version of your phone S3/S4 with the recovery.

Have the same problem (HTC one at&t) and that link he has that I clicked gives you a page of LIKE A WHOLE LIST of versions.. How do you know which one to choose?
plus spent all night trying to download the recovery.img from clockworkmod.com as well as other links and all I get is this LONG encrypted script page displayed, and not an actual FILE that prompts you to download. going crazy here!

The link works, i ve managed to do it but twrp is useless if you want to flash any roms...I have tried every known version of cm for htc one s and I can't flash any of them in my phone through the twrp recovery...Always fails for no apparent reason! If you want my advise, do not waste your time, cause it's almost certain that ig you flash any custom rom, you will loose the advantages of htc sense, including the camera performance and special effects and also the beautiful widgets...If anyone though knows how to flash a REALLY nice rom with twrp we will be glad to hear his/her suggestions!

sad part is I'm not going for anything fancy.. When I bought the phone (last week) it had version 4.1 on there and all I want to do is upgrade it to 4.2... and no it's NOT available through AT&T in anyways what's so ever.. hence the flash recovery chaos.
If no one response with a solid solution, then I'm just gonna let it be like you said.

Tell me what do you want to do to your phone?
State in points, easy for me
blah
No it wont affect.
By the way, TWRP recovery has been the most successful one with The One S.
Google twrp and Download it for VILLE (THE S4 MODEL HTC ONE S) and then flash it.
