Is there a way, with root, to go into the code somewhere and change the 3 animation scale settings(from developer options)?
I'm looking to change mine to .25
I've seen this feature in custom roms, but I'm curious to know if there is a solution for stock android with root, or even just a custom rom that doesn't include this feature yet

I just got the Maxx and am now concerned with the status of the bootloader. It sounds like the Razr series took an eternity to unlock, and it seems like so far it will also take a while for the Maxx to be unlocked. I already miss the features of Cyanogenmod and other custom ROMs, to the point of considering getting the G2. I really love the features from Motorola but custom ROMs are also a big deal to me.
What are you looking for in a custom rom... i am sure you already know this, but Xposed framework + gravity box + motoxposed bring 95% of the custom ROM functionality I desire into the stock rom.,,,
If you havent checked them out, you might want to give it a look. You only need Root & system RW
Safestrap for the MotoX also works on our phones...sooo once Hashcode gets all the bugs worked out.. we can hope to see optimized stock roms and such in the future.
edit: I do miss my RazrHD in a way because 4.2 and 4.3 were sooooooooo stable for me...and the only thing I didn't have was Touchless Control

Yes, root and system rw basically allows you to do anything. But the current root exploit will most likely be patched by the next system update, wherereas unlocked bootloader provides a more permanaent solution.
Alright so this is my 1st android phone and have a few questions as to how to do a couple things. I'm pretty smart when it comes to software and modding, but this is new to me do I don't want to screw something up.
I ditched my jailbroken iphone 5 for the galaxy s5. I'm with sprint and it's rooted. I also have odin mobile pro if that helps with anything. So here are my questions, hopefully someone can help and give me some in site.
I would like a custom boot animation. Actually id like to keep my Samsung s5 boot animation, but change the sprint spark animation to something custom. I have poked around in system/media. I do not have the bootanimation.zip. I have multiple QMG files. I'm currently on my stock Rom because I'm not exactly sure about a custom Rom yet. Don't know what to choose or if they are compatible with the g900p. Seems that omega is a good choice, but have only seen updated version for Verizon. I have customized my stock Rom with Winam xposed.
Plus I've read that you have to do a clean restore before flashing a custom Rom. I have Titanium backup pro if that would make things easier. I'd like to get rid of some of the bloatware too.
Since I've rooted and installed xposed and added some modules, my S health no longer works.
Anyone wanna give me some how toos to get my phone into the custom android game?
Thanks!!
Ok maybe it is just my search tactics, or i just need someone to hold my hand all the time. Anyway I have a ATT Galaxy Note 10.1 (SGH I497). I have successful rooted the device. But i can not change the boot animation. I used the boot animation app on Google Play, it said the new animation was installed but when I rebooted nothing, same stock animation. I also wanted to know if. again is it just me, or is there absolutely no custom ROMs out there for this device? I know it is old but I just want to play around with it. I like messing with this stuff but unfortunately it looks like I some how got the device no one wanted to customize. I did find a custom ROM on this site by DJ Skribble the latest post was June of 2014 but that is the only custom anything I have really been able to find on the entire internet for my device. Any help with this (boot animations and/or good theme customization on rooted device and custom ROMs) would be greatly appreciated.
I was wondering if there is a way to make a samsung phone look normal.... Do roms exist?
Plus another thing I was wondering: is it possible to take just the ui from a rom and put in another one? (for example take a stock xperia rom and take the ui and put it in a samsung stock rom... could this make a samsung rom looking like xperia?)
Custom ROMs exist for some Samsungs. But there's like 87 bajillion different Samsungs, so obviously it depends on which model you have. Beyond that, you can always use a custom launcher such as Nova, Go, Apex, or just the Google Now launcher. This won't change the settings screen(s) or the notification menu, but at least the rest won't have TouchWiz's fugly look.
samsung almost have more custom ROMs.. Root your device flash custom recovery find your device model ROM and flash it.. from custom Cynogen is on top....
......................you can't do like getting ui pasting to another ROM , its impossible .. every rom is compitable with type of device including bootloader , kernels, even recovery must compitable...
Alright thanks... Any custom rom for a5 2016?
Ok I found 2 or 3 thank you.
Have this older Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit SM-S357BL phone. Sure it's a cheap phone but I really like it and wanted to replace samsungs bloatware with a stock android os. Is this even possible and how would I go about doing this? Tried watching YouTube videos but they're just too confusing with loud rap music playing over the videos. Thanks.

Installing stock software won't change anything, it will still have all the Samsung bloatware. Flashing stock software might get rid of bloatware from your carrier such as the Verizon based apps that are installed on Verizon's devices and other carrier based services and apps.
If you want something that is a little more lean and stripped down, that can only be done by flashing modified stock ROMs or true custom ROMs, but that requires an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and/or root.

OK, where would I find a modified stock rom or a leaner custom rom? I guess Lineage os 16 was made for android 9 pie but can't seem to find a download for it.

Yeah, is there a custom rom that is more stripped down than Lineage or is that the best option?

You can't use any kind of custom ROM, you can only use stock ROMs based on your stock firmware that someone has modified and only if a modified stock ROM exists for your specific device model. I don't know if any exist for your device or if there is a working method to install them on your device. You'll have to research that yourself, I'm just telling you what you can and can not use so that you don't go looking for the wrong thing.
