Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I could not get an answer in the forum. I have the same problem, I am using AOKP 4.2.2 build 5 ROM and although the "access to my location" is off, the GPS lock icon appears constantly in the status bar and in the notification bar as "location set by GPS". I've killed all apps but it didn't help. Any thoughts?
I had this gps problem too. It was always on and I could not close it. Only a power off would close it. Found out that the app yahoo weather was causing it. Uninstalled it and problem fix.

I am unable to Sideload APK's. I'm trying SwiftKey Beta for example. When the install manager pulls up with the permissions listed, the Install button on the bottom right is unresponsive. I can hit cancel, but it won't let me select Install. I tried some other APK's, so its not just Swiftkey. I did allow unknown Sources in the Security Settings section. I rooted using Chainfires CF Autoroot. But I think that has nothing to do with it. Anyone have the same issues?

Ok very odd. I had power cycled my phone. Tried installing the Apk and it works now. Just FYI, in case anyone runs into this issue.

You didn't happen to have any screen dimming apps active, did you? Because Android disables installing apps when they're active to prevent malware from covering up install buttons.
Yes, I was running Screen Filter. I was in bed and did not want to wake up my girl. Genius man! Thank you. Did not know that.

Is anyone else seeing Google now constantly trying to refresh but never finding anything?
All I see is the weather going nuts in my notification bar, and Google now trying to work with the refresh bar going all the time. Of course the screenshot doesn't tell much because it is just a still image, but the bar under the Google search bar just keeps trying to work but never stops.
Also, my Google keyboard keeps texting itself to the default keyboard even if I set Swype as default.

tried that first, still no joy. Keeps doing it. Disabled add blocking thinking the hosts file may have been the issue...nope. Removed the xposed modules...nope. changed to AOSP...comes back after a day or two. No idea what is going on here.

FailSafe:
If you become locked out, shut your device down, turn it back on and the first unlock should be your default PIN
TimePIN is a security and ease of use enhancing application. TimePIN sets your lockscreen PIN code to the current time resulting in an ever changing PIN that can not be shoulder surfed or repeated due to fingerprints on the screen. Modifiers allow you to morph the PIN, to further enhance security.
12hour and 24hour clocks are both supported.
Modifiers:
(If no modifier is applied, and the time is 9:12, your PIN will be 0912)
Reverse - reverses the PIN. If the time is 11:24, your PIN will be 4211
Mirror - mirrors the PIN. If the time is 8:34, your PIN will be 08344380
Double - Doubles the PIN. If the time is 12:34, your PIN will be 12341234
Offset - Applies a user chosen offset to the PIN. If the time is 10:43, and your offset is -121, your PIN will be 0922.
The reverse modifier is free, and no purchase is needed to use the application. The additional modifiers are available for purchase for $1.99, for all, for life.
For all non lockscreen purposes, and the first unlock after turning a device on, a user selected default PIN is used.
TimePIN is NOT currently compatible with encrypted devices, but an update is coming!
Future features:
Additional modifiers
Support for encrypted devices*
Support for alphanumerical passwords
Support for pattern password*
*Starred future features may require root access

Each time I try to unlock the phone after waking it up it says wrong pin even if it is the time. I just enter it again and it works its just annoying to have to do it twice.

@eisenbathb I am getting that too. When you first go to enter your pin, default pin works and time does not. Anytime after that, time works, and the default doesn't. The app is only working after the first attempt

2x PIN
I like the cconcept of this app. Pretty cool idea. I just updated to 1.08 and I still have the issue of having to enter the code twice. I'm running the 1/20/14 nightly of AOKP on a Galaxy S3.
Ok so original problem fixed! But now after about 5-10 unlocks it stops working completely. The default and the time. I have had to restart phone like 3 times now. Thanks

@jcase can't we get GB support for this?

Ok, ok. Try this: reboot the device. For me, after that all works flawless.

Mmmhhh... Can be the not-stock kernel or something similar?
Love the app. Would it be possible to add Tasker support? I like to disable my PIN lock when I'm at home.
Thanks!
Oh, an update! Ehm, there is a way to disable the persistent notification with an option in the application?

Try the 1.0.9 update from today, and then reboot your phone. The intentfilter was getting removed due to a couple bugs killing the service that started it (one bug was mine, one is this bug https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=63793 ). Should preform better now.

Can we get a feature that does not change the PIN (time, offset etc.) but instead scrambles the keypad?

This is addressed in the 1.1 update coming soon, along with auto disable/enable when attached to trusted wifi networks/bluetooth devices.

Maybe, but not at this point. I need to make sure it is running smoothly before taking on a wider range of devices.
Great idea @jcase! Works fine with Samsung S4

Drakon, that is under development. Both tasker support, and location/wifi based enabling/disabling.

This is a work around for this bug https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=63793 which kept causing users to have to re-enter their PIN twice. Possibly you can long press the notification, then disable it (I think 4.2 and up), but this hasnt been tested and might bring back the bug.
Greyscale toggle mode is available in the "Vision" submenu. I am not familiar with tasker but is there a way to activate that toggle with tasker when the battery reaches a certain level? I have direct access and power+vol up does it now but would like to do it auto

Yes. You need root. Then you can either use Secure Settings Pro or run a shell command:
settings put secure accessibility_display_daltonizer_enabled 1
so no go then on snapdragon version

Not unless root becomes available. You might look into some of the Auto Apps plugins by @joaomgcd .... He's got some clever functions that provide root-like actions for non root users. No idea if it would work for you but might be worth looking into if it is important to you.
I suppose i should feel lucky that I can use direct access for it at least. Power+vol up isnt too hard when my battery gets low(which is never with this thing) but just in case. I remember it was automatic with the s5 power save mode thats why I asked

You Don't Need Root....
You don't need root. You just need to grant Tasker the correct permissions using ADB so you can change secure/global/system settings. This feature was added recently.
