[Q] [HELP] WiFi Not working with Sultan Kernel CM 10.2 - HTC Sensation

So I installed CyanogenMod 10.2 for my rooted HTC Sensation. I fully wiped the phone before flashing the ROM. Then I flashed all of the GAPPS and SuperSU. Then at the end I also flashed Sultan's kernel r44.5 with the aroma installer. Then I reboot my device for the first time with CM. I finished the setup and everything but I realise my wifi wasn't working. I press on and it does nothing except puts the slider on on but it's not working. I try downloading WiFix because some people said it fixed the problem for them. So any suggestions on what I should do?

did you try to flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command?
note: by the way why did you flash supersu?
every custom rom comes pre-rooted

Sorry I forgot to mention that part. I always flash the boot.img since I always get bootloops and boot freezes.

Still the same ;/

Definaltely a problem with the kernel. Tried with ViperS sense 5.0 ROM, still a problem with the WiFi. I completely reflashed the ROM without the custom kernel and WiFi worked... Hm... Any suggestions? I also found out that the kernel tweaks some WiFi options. To be exact it was an update to the WiFi driver from Google's 3.0 kernel. Any way to stop the WiFi tweak?

Yeah, but there is a special version of the Sultan kernel that works with the viperS. The author of the sultan kernel said he got help from SebastianFM to make it work with the viperS rom. Soo... yeah

Try downgrading/upgrading your radio or try another custom ROM, but seems to me it's a ROM issue.

Can you recommend me a kernel to use with this ROM please?
I solved the problem, thanks for the help guys. The problem was not with ROM or kernel, it was me.
I was installing the rom using S-ON method so I pushed the wrong boot.img at the last part. Pushed the MIUI rom boot.img instead of the kernel's.

You should use the kernel that has been given to you by the developer, you can find it in the download section. This is it http://d-h.st/jm8
If your phone is s-on you cant flash kernels in recovery, but you can flash it with adb.

I see that you caused the problem, but the problem was the kernel. Next time be more careful at what are you doing.
The Kernel is completely working. But he had S-ON, so had to flash via recovery.
-adb flash boot boot.img

When you are s-on you can not flash via recovery, you must flash via fastboot but NEXT recovery supports smart flash for some devices, and if you activate it you can flash kernels even with s-on.
Do you know what kind of recovery is that can flash kernel directly?

If you are S-OFF you can flash kernels with all of them. If you are S-ON, you have 4EXT recovery for some phones with smart flash but I think Desire S is not supported. The easiest way to flash kernels with S-ON is with adb. Just extract the boot.img file from the kernel to the ADB folder and with the command : fastboot flash boot boot.img you flash it to the phone. If you don`t know how to use adb read the forum.

As rzr86 said, you can flash boot.img manually.
Othetwise, if you have 4ext, use smartflash.

[Q] No WiFi, on CM10.2 with PMEM

Phone : TMOUS HTC Sensation 4G, Rooted, S-Off, SuperCID
Phone #2 ROM : Android 4.3 CM10.2 build 8/15/2013
Kernel #2 : Sultan 3.0.90
Radio : 11.76C.3504.00P_11.29A.3504.18_M
RIL : 4.0.0056HMQ
HBOOT : 1.29.0000
Loaded up The new CM10.2 build with a clean install, and no wireless. The off/on toggles but does not begin to search for wireless, ie... nothing happens. Tried following the steps on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348361 and still not working. Any ideas? Admittedly I'm not very well versed at this, but I can follow steps.
Thanks in advance.
I did also notice that the Wi-Fi region code keeps resetting to Europe.
Anyone?
WiFi region code sets itself to United States for me. Try reflashing the ROM with the newest version of TWRP.

Bluetooth doesnt work( ViperS 1.3.2 with S-OFF)

hello
I am having a sensation witch runs ViperS1.3.2, and I'm on S-OFF
my Bluetooth doesnt work. it wont find or be found.
I believe its a software prob since the wifi does works perfectly..
I think all the trouble began when I flash a boot.img when i was on Slimbean(flash something according to DennisBold suggestion so
it suppose to be matching that rom)
since that when I flashed a new rom/version of slimbean the bluetooth didnt work
I only remember that when I first tried revelation 1.0.0 it worked, and since that it failed to work(vipers and revelation 1.0.2)
im hoping i gave enough info
thank for helping
I think it is a kernel problem, so flashing the Sebastian's 1.0.2 kernel wouldn't probably hurt.
I had a problem with BT on vipera and revelation. Try to clear data in setting/applications/system application/bluetooth....

than update the firmware(which i didnt know at the beggining so the phone was stuck on boot)

Try different kernels.
Since you're soff, try a gb ruu as well (use supercid), since you have tried ics ruu already. If it still doesnt work then it must be a hardware issue

Hi
same situation with my Sensation
Hapend when moved from Viper S ROM version 3.1.3 to 3.1.4 via update.

Problem with WIFI solved!!!
I was happend (I guess) because we all have S-ON. So, we need to flashing a boot.img when it change with roms (or roms update)
And there is solution. Flash yours boot.img or do it when you install new rom (or reinstall current).
First way is in this post
I was use fastboot command.
Other way you should update yours recovery to newest 4EXT recovery and enable 4EXT smartflash, then istall rom (I choose Viper S/C 3.1.4).
I choose first one, becasue after second on device didn't start (it was rebooting again and again), so then I was use fastboot command.
And.... WIFI is back
And permanent solution for future - ofcourse permanent smartflash.
