Wifi works fine. It's definitely user error
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium
So, you get some FC's and WiFi doesn't work... ok.
1. Have you tried flashing the boot.img (the correct one, extracted from the ROM zip) with fastboot? Well, try it again! "adb fastboot flash boot boot.img" and make sure that you have the boot.img in the folder where you run the command. This way you will reflash the kernel and at least the WiFi problem should go away.
VERY IMPORTANT after you run the flash boot command in fastboot, it is recommended to do a "fastboot erase cache" before booting.
2. Now, if this doesn't fix your issues, try wiping everything from your phone (do a Titanium bkp for your apps, not your system settings) and go with a full wipe (Dalvik included). Flash the ROM once again and after that is complete, don't boot the phone. Do a data and cache wipe again, and reboot to bootloader. Get in fastboot usb mode and repeat the first step.

Thank You very very much!!!
The problem was the Kernel (boot.img).
After i upgraded to the last 4.1.2 the kernel stopped working.
I tried to wipe all data and cache with no good results.
This night i tried to flash again for the third time the boot.img by Toolkit 1.2 and it started working again!!!
So i wiped all data and cache again. Installed the 4.1.2 again, the gapps and started to setup all the stuff again
Thank you for your answers and @mikeyinid too!!
Cheers!

I tried to install now the new aokp_ville_unofficial_Oct-31-12.zip!
Damn!! Same damned problem...
I flashed it by recovery cleaning cache and partition because i don't want to lost my data.
I don't know why the Kernel stop working flashing the zip by recovery! ;(
Any idea?!?!?
I don't want to setup always all my stuff into the phone...
Now i tried to wipe all data and cache but the phone don't want to boot!
It driving me crazy!!
I'll try to flash the kernel again right now!

The best practice for now is flashing the boot.img (containing the kernel) via fastboot. Try that, because the custom recoveries cannot flash the boot.img, not until we get s-off-ed.
Good Luck!

Hi Buddy!
Thanks for patience!
Now when i try to select the rom from the sdcard it says can't mount SDCARD!!!
The phone, from the recovery, don't see the SDCARD...And don't want to boot :/ (bootloop infinite)
Is it terrible?!?! ;D
Is there a way to fix it?
Thank you very much!

It's great that you managed to fix it. And when you discover the fix yourself, it's even more rewarding
I can recommend TrickDroid, it's close to stock, actually very close to stock, with just some great tweaks added, and it has no bugs. You can rely on this rom as a daily driver.
Cheers!

Well, first thing, the quick settings in the notification bar. I can't use the phone without them . Take a look at the trickdroid thread for your device (the 8.1.0 if you have S4) and see what fits you.

You're right!
I'm trying all the different settings...Isn't a way to found the different screenshots for the different settings?
I'm trying all setting wiping every time and installing again the ROM.
I can wipe and reinstall the ROM without problem with the kernel. I don't need to fastboot the kernel everytime. Just install the ROM by recovery...
Thank you very much buddy for talking me about this rom.
Bye!

Hi
same situation with my Sensation
Hapend when moved from Viper S ROM version 3.1.3 to 3.1.4 via update.
Lost WIFI and now I can't turn it on.
Check wipe&full installation, update, I was try 3.1.4 again and 5.0.0.
Without result

Problem with WIFI solved!!!
I was happend (I guess) because we all have S-ON. So, we need to flashing a boot.img when it change with roms (or roms update)
And there is solution. Flash yours boot.img or do it when you install new rom (or reinstall current).
First way is in this post
I was use fastboot command.
Other way you should update yours recovery to newest 4EXT recovery and enable 4EXT smartflash, then istall rom (I choose Viper S/C 3.1.4).
I choose first one, becasue after second on device didn't start (it was rebooting again and again), so then I was use fastboot command.
And.... WIFI is back
And permanent solution for future - ofcourse permanent smartflash.

Still not working... :/
But there is one weird thing in bootloader. When I boot to bootloader it shows: SD Checking...No image! (and some letters .img). This shows about 7 times and then it shows selection screen (fastboot/recovery/factory reset/simlock)
Second weird thing is that I have radio 1.10.80.14M3 (I'm from WestEurope), but in RUU isn't the same radio :/
(These things were there before I installed new recovery/stock ROM)
Now, I tried to install the stock rom by immortal yash and it works! So thank you for wasting a time with me

Sorry to hijack this thread. I've been pulling my hair out with the same issue as well when trying to install 4.4.2 roms. stuck at the HTC screen. try to wipe all data info (cache , partition and dalvik) than install ROM and gapps, should be fine, remember to perform it with fully charged battery, and i dont think i have to mention that you would do backup ? (when you get working ROM you might use nandroid software to create COMPLETE backup of your system - including ROM, so if something goes wrong , you can restore everything), hope that helps
