[Q] Kindle app not working with cm10.1 - General Questions and Answers

I rooted my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 with CM10.1 a few months ago. Everything was working GREAT! Now all of a sudden the Kindle App get's the the error "Unfortunately Amazon Kindle Has Stopped". I have un-installed the app several times. I even have re-flashed the rom. I still get the same error. I have searched the web and can not find the answer. I tried a manual update for CM and I now get the same error with that process. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was really enjoying the Kindle App in my rooted device!!

Hi
I've been experiencing the same problem after successfully installing the CM10.1 mod on the wife's Kindle Fire 2 today. Every time I opened the Kindle app it immediately closed with this same error message you have been getting. I suspected it was the app version itself and took a punt at finding an older version of the .apk to try and side load it.
Ended up finding v3.6.0.87 and now its all working perfectly. I know technically the devices aren't the same but I suspect the glitch is more likely to be the deliberate work of Amazon's developers and logically if you get a version before this change was added it should work for you too.
Hope this helps.

Weird issue just now...

I've been running VEGAn beta3 since it came out, had the latest market working and showing off the tab to coworkers. Turned it off while I ran some errands after work and when I got home fired it up. Had to agree to the market when I tried to browse the market and after agreeing I had the incomplete access. Had to do the "fix" three or four times to get it to work.
First time I ever lost the market after getting it working....
Weird.
Sent from my Viewsonic 10" GTab...
Haven't had this issue (yet). Been running beta 3 for over 24 hours, which is a bit of a record for me.
I am running the old Market, FYI - new Market just FC's on me.
I tried a few times after initial install of Beta3 to use the old Market but it would never work (the hack part). So I flashed the new Market on which I had successfully run on TnT-lite 2.2.0.
I've had the market running on Android emulators on my PC with no issues.....this was just a weird experience as I've never had it "working" and then not working on the next boot.
It's working now...so that's all that matters......just was very weird. Throwing it out there in case anyone else experiences it...
Weird this morning....
Powered up.....swiped to "unlock" and made sure I had a WiFi connection......went to the Market and got the "Accept" agreement again. This time the Market was fully functional but again...just weird
Update:
Oh well.....just tried the Market and it's "crippled" again. This is very strange.
Switching back to TnTLite for now....
Is your user data partition screwed up? That could cause the disappearing market. Oh and did you wipe when you came from TNT?? Can't think of any other explanation for this as nobody else has reported this and we've had beta 3 for several days.

Yep...wiped, data is fine.
Back on TnT lite with no issues.
It could have been the market trying to update itself from the 2.2.6 to the 2.2.7 that is out now. I am running the old market now....

[Q] market now empty

I just started my tablet tonight and I went to market to look around and I was met with the original agreement option for the market. I excepted and then went to market to find it almost empty. Anyone else had this happen? I tried to do the fix again but it didn't work.
I'm still on 3389 with enhancement.
Ideas?
UPDATE: NVM. I ran the fix two more times and second time it worked!
same thing here...also on 3389 plus enhancemente
you know though that the market has been kinda crazy lately...not just with gtabs...maybe a google issue.

That is how I fix mine. It happens every now and again. Not sure if the something in the framework itself updates or mis-aligns with the market on there, itself but I find that I just need to run the fix 1 or 2 times and it works after that.
Not sure if this is related or not, but while I was able to install Beautiful Widgets, it can't find the free wallpaper in the market. Also I was looking for Jet Car Stunts Lite since there are a number of articles about it today, but while it appears on my Nexus One it doesn't show on the G-tab. Any ideas? Is it possible for me to put it on my Nexus One and then copy it over, or is the problem that the market thinks it isn't compatible with the Tegra chip, or...?
I have had trouble with market acting womky on stock w/ enhance, tnt lite and vegan....either its the hack we use or Google i shaving trouble. My guess would be the hack but I could be wrong.

I got my tablet about two weeks ago and installed tnt lite. My market was perfect for about Three days and then apps started disappearing. I now have vegan and most major apps do not appear. I'd say I have about 90% of the market

Tapatalk Problems?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone who uses Tapatalk has tried to access a new forum site thru the app today? The forums I have already added work fine, but when I try to browse or search for new ones, I have been getting an error for the past 6 hours or so.... the error says "pad block corrupted".... anyone else experiencing this?
Yep. Having exactly the same issue. Only when trying to browse or search for new forums. Using Droid Incredible CM7.
Same here. I can't browse anything as i just setup as new my phone (iphone 4).
Looks like servers felt down.
I had this problem but it started working again. It looks like amazon aws was having some nasty issues earlier today which are still getting cleared up (messed up reddit.com, etc.) and tapatalk.com just happens to be using an amazon AWS IP so I suspect this was the cause.
Yeah, I woke up this morning and it's working again. Thanks for the replies everyone.

[Q] Google Maps Compass Calibration Bug w 3.2

Since I upgraded to 3.2 I can't use Google Maps for more than a few minutes without a popup asking me to calibrate my compass by moving the tablet in a figure 8 motion. Does anyone know a solution for this bug?
Thanks
You've done the calibration I assume?

About 10 times...just keeps on popping up.
Do you have your tablet in a case that has magnets?

No case. I also experienced a problem with the google search widget taking text but not launching into a browser.
I did a factory reset of the tablet. It fixed the google search widget. I am still having problems with the compass. Also this morning when I turned on the tablet the Wifi was not working...
I am going to try doing a reset again. This time I won't allow google to do a restore. I will just load apps manually. I will see if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
No better....I have factory reset the unit three times. I am still constantly getting the compass calibration request and wifi disconnection...I may have a bad unit. I can't tell if these are 3.2 bugs because I just received my unit yesterday and I upgraded almost immediately.

I am actually having the same issue when playing Roboto, pops every few minutes. Haven't seen the issue with Google Maps yet though. I also have no case for my tablet.
Turn off the compass..

The compass calibration error message started popping up for me after the update. I do have a case with a magnet, the roocase, but, never had the popup happen prior to the update. I've had the case on since July 8th.
I have no case on mine and it just started doing it after upgrade. I may try uninstalling the map update to see if that does anything.
I am getting the same message when using Google Earth. It has to be a 3.2 bug.
I get it with Falling Fred.
i am getting this as well in maps. Has anyone tried seeing if it works outside? I am going to try stripping the update as well.
EDIT: update is not the issue. Stripped it from the device with the same results.

Since i get this in the game Falling Fred, I don't think it is a bug with Maps. Rather, it would seem to be with the Android OS as a whole.
Just verified here as well in Maps. I know it has been reported, but unless ASUS sees this as a problem for the majority they will not fix or push Google to fix.
Okay - me too, then. I'm getting it in google maps and a couple of other gps apps. - sheureka
Count me in, I got it when using the Earthquake app. I restarted it and didn't see it again but I didn't stay on there too long so I will monitor it. I believe this is another 3.2 bug but I've been wrong before...
I'm getting it too since upgrading to 3.2.
Happens only when I play games...

How exactly would one do this?
called asus support
I wasted time on the phone with Asus support today. They were completely clueless about this problem. They suggested that I return my unit for repair. I just received it two days ago from Best Buy so I exchanged. This time I tried out Google maps before I did the 3.2 update. The first time I launched the app it did complain about the compass briefly but no figure eight message. I can't remember the exact message. After that there were no more problems. I updated to 3.2 and the incessant compass calibration messages started again. it is also popping up in an unrelated app (game). This is a significant sw bug. I am surprised more people are not reporting the problem. maybe there is some hw dependance but I experienced the same problem on two different units. The first was a B70. My current unit is B60.
This sucks...

[Q] google market error processing purchase

Running revolver 3.11 and the google market gives me the error processing purchase. If i uninstall it and go back to the unupgraded version of the market,it works fine until it forces me to upgrade again. Anyone else with this issue?

Same issue and I'm on Revolution HD, so it's not rom related. Maybe just a Market bug. I did notice that if I do apps that I've already purchased then it works fine, but nothing new, not even free apps.

That makes me feel a little bit better. Saved me from wiping and starting over. But am not seeing anyone else complaining about this issue.
Maybe it is a random thing?
exact same for me, running arhd 3.1 and same market version/problem
unable to install any new app, and read that changing, or resetting your credit card might solve it but still looking for the way to do that ..!!
Actually solved it by reinstalling google apps from EOS, so far I managed to install everything I wanted for more than an hour
Might give it a try

Same thing here, running ARHD 6.5.4... It just sucks.

Installing an older version of the market seems to work. Will see for how long though...
I had this same problem recently with my Kindle Fire running CM7. I spent a few days trying different things and I think I finally found a solution. Clearing the app data for just the Play Store didn't help but clearing the app data for the Play Store and GoogleServicesFramework seems to have fixed it so far. Hopefully it works for you guys, let me know.
I really would like to try that but now that I downgraded my gapps, it works perfectly but it won't update automatically now ....
Any clue what this comes from ?....

I've had this happen on Android Revolution HD, Revolver4, and on AOKP 1.6. Now that I'm on 1.7 with Guevor Test IV, Google Play and Market both crash constantly, even with a new gapps install. It's gotten so bad I've almost considered Amazon's app store (not really)
maybe i'll stick with the 3.4.7 version i have for now, at least it is working fine...!!

I had this problem last night when I flashed a new kernel to ARHD. To fix it I
1. Cleared Play Store data
2. Cleared google framework services data
3. booted to recovery and fixed permissions
For some reason just 1 and 2 didn't fix it. I thought maybe it had something to do with the system bloatware I removed but it seems to be fine now.
did the exact same thing and it actually worked as a charm
it seems that the framework is responsible for this bug
thanks to you all for your precious help !! (sorry but can't use the thank function yet !!)
