Same problem, as far as i know, i went to see the geeks and at the end, after several forwards, the last one told me to send the phone on guarantee back to google.
In his own words, that happen to the nexus 5, after flash it, doesn't reconize the usb/sd anymore, so the flash process can't be done, i will try to attach a OTG usb, and see whats happend.

Are either of you able to get into the bootloader on your device and access fastboot mode? If you can still access fastboot mode then you can flash the latest Nexus 5 Factory Image (Which will restore your device to factory out-of-the-box condition) to restore your device. Let me know if you still have any questions about the process or otherwise I'll be happy to help.
try reinstalling the cwm/twpm. wipe the device completely. and put new rom

I tried rooting my phone, but when I flashed CWM my Nexus S stopped booting... it freezes on the Google screen in the intro. I can boot into Fastboot, and cwm, but I cant connect the Internal memory to the computer without it booting like it is supposed to. Does anybody know of anything I can do to fix my phone and bring it back to stock??
There are guides for returning to stock stickied in the Nexus S 4G Android Development forum.
Before you do that though, try flashing a different recovery, like the one linked to here or here.
Btw, which guide did you use? You're not the first person to have this problem, and it's really bugging me (though probably not as much as it's bugging you :-o).

I will try a different recovery, but how would I flash a rom if I can connect my phone via usb mount?

I'm a little out of my depth here, but I think it's
fastboot flash system system.img.
You don't need to put the rom image on the sdcard. Just put it in the same folder as fastboot.
It was titled "How to Root Nexus S!"
And I will try to flash recovery and try that rom command, thank you )

There's a button for that.
I got the link. Thanks. I looks like you flashed a boot image that is incompatible with your phone. That guide was for the T-Mobile Nexus S. (Why they're screwing with the boot.img to begin with, I really don't understand.)
Download the attached file, and unzip it to the same folder as fastboot. The md5 sum is d4a9508f9321eb25df3383f00f571e8b. Then
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You'll probably also want to use one of the recoveries listed above to
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
, but leave system alone for now. Flash that only as a last resort.

OMG!! im having the same issue. could you please post the link for ODIN so i can return to stock and take it from there please? I rely on my phone so much and i need it asap thank you.
same problem with me.
but in my case, the phone not only freeze after the google logo before boot. I tried several times to pull the battery and start the phone again, it took several times until the phone can boot normally again.
After that, my nexus s can work as usual. but it only takes 3-4 hour until it freeze/hangs or reboot automatically and show image of green robot lay down with red alert triangle...
sometimes I noticed all application force closed like gmail, gtalk, etc. (its a basic apps instead of 3rd party app)
History :
- root GB 2.37 using superoneclick
- upgrade OTA to ICS 4.04
- problem happens
- root using guide : nexusshacks.com
- unroot using guide : nexusshacks.com
- back to factory setting on GB 2.34
- upgrade OTA to ICS 4.04
- Still got that problem.....
I'm using Nexus S 4G Sprint, pls help me guys...
nexus s won't boot
I had the same problem and read elsewhere that heating the phone with a hairdryer solves the problem.
I must say, indeed it did.
I removed the battery and the SIM card, then heated up the phone (so it really feels warm) put back the battery and sim and simsalebim the phone started again. and is still working since (now already a few day's)
It seems that a component in the phone is heat sensitive, the question in my mind is when will this show again and do I need to consider buying a new phone.
But sofar it works
PS I also tried hard reset factory reset the lot, but in the end only heating up helped.
Good luck, David
I fixed this problem! but I had to wipe all user data by rooting it using nexusrootICS. It finally boots up and the phone works now... that's all I need.
Hi guys, im in desperate need of some XDA professional help.
i tried reverting my nexus s back to the stock rom but somehow ended up clicking on Factory /system. (im a dumbass, i know. but i can only blame this other site for giving bad instructions!)
i can access the CWM bootloader, and i can enter recovery mode.
but every time i try to mount the USB storage through Recovery (so i can put a stock ROM -the nandroid stuff - in there and zip it), i get an error. it says File not found.
Now, I can't access my phone at all.
it's pretty much like a computer with no OS.
is there still a way for me to fix this? or i'm i terribly, terribly screwed?
hope to hear from you guys soon!
-cristina
just do a full wipe if you've deleted your data already:
- do factory reset, wipe cache
then under mounts and storage: format everything except your sd-card (photo's etc will be lost)
Try to copy your file again and flash... hope this helps
i have your awnser

Boot into recovery. Then go to Mounts and Storage, and mount USB storage. Connect your phone to your computer and your SDcard contents should show.
Transfer the latest CM10 nightly to your SDcard. Then flash it and hopefully all should be fine.

THX your god, it works fine my phone is back :good:
Good Evening,
AT&T LG G2 rooted, TWRP. Have installed a few different roms but mostly used PA. All of a sudden the phone started experiencing issues with cell Data. So I did a clean install of PA and then had issues with BT, did another clean install and had issues with Wifi.
So I decided ok maybe its time to go back to stock. Hook it up to a win7 computer... Device manager doesn't see it at all (doesn't show up AT ALL). Says charging and that is it, does not recognize that it is hooked up to a computer. Have tried several different computers now and several different USB cables. The only way I could try other roms was downloading via wifi. Tried a stock rom and still experiencing issues.
I think there is something wrong with the phone so I want to get it warrantied, but without hooking it up to a computer I can not figure out any way to remove the custom recovery or revert it to stock. No matter what I do no computer will even recognize the phone is connected, let alone trying to install drivers. Device manager just straight up does not see it.
Any help or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated. Any way to remove recovery/root without a PC connection?
UPDATE: Here was my solution
Took some work but I figured out a way to do it in case anyone else ever runs in to this:
(make sure you are stock rom or on a stock rooted rom before proceeding)
First download the stock recovery.img on the device.
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime...10B_Partitions
Then download/open Terminal Emulator and type:
su
Then
cd /sdcard/downloads
Then
dd if=/sdcard/downloads/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
That replaces TWRP/CWM with the stock recovery.
Then open supersu, go to settings, towards the bottom is full unroot.
Yay no more custom recovery or root on stock rom.
If you are planning on getting warranty you need to use download mode and the back to stock guide also that is the best way to flash to stock and get rid of problems

Agreed, problem is the computer will not see the phone, so I can't use the program to flash it back to stock.
It's not just a driver or com issue, the computer does not see it AT ALL. Device manager doesn't see a new device when I plug it in (in OS, in Download mode, nothing).

Different usb ports, different computers, different cables (stock one included). No luck. Phone says download mode then goes to "firmware update" and says at the bottom B53 then "ROOTED" in red letters. Nothing appears in device manager.
In android regarless of rom if I plug it in it doesn't act like I plugged it in to a computer, just charging. Again nothing in device manager regardless of USB debugging or not.
currently have twrp 2.6.3.3, running D80210b 4.2.2, with baseband M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190034
What I really need to know is if there is any way to restore stock recovery and remove root without using that method (ie using Terminal Commands or flashing a package, since I can download via wifi).
I am pretty sure this phone has a messed up USB port, but I don't really want to send it in with it rooted/twrp on it .

Did you try restore & reset functionality on the phone? I had somewhat similar issue with the plug & pop feature (although my laptop recognized the phone under Devices & Printer but it didn't show it as a separate drive) when I flashed CM11 but then I did a full factory reset, everything goes back to normal. Also you might try uninstall LG driver and reinstall it. Hope this help.

Unfortunately it is not a driver issue, it doesn't show up in device manager at all, on several machines.
I have tried multiple different roms, factory rests, even tried ADB sideloading, no luck.
i remember there's this app called Auto Rec that has an option to unroot the device or something like that.

It worked perfectly and I got the phone exchanged without any hassle, but if your USB is working there are plenty of better ways to return to stock. This was an option I had to use because of USB not functioning. I mean this would allow you to unroot without wiping/restoring but if your going to send the phone in anyway you might as well wipe it as well.

I am a bit afraid of the other methods I saw and this one seems easier
I have a question if you can answer to me.
I restored the official rom from TWRP and did all the process you wrote. Is there any way to check if now I have the stock recovery?
And to see if I am now ready to send my phone to LG?

Great work, with no need of PC and difficult processes.
Noob question, but will this allow users to take OTA updates? Running stock rooted right now and really don't want revert to stock to get latest ota, but this seems pretty seamless. Thanks.

I believe that in order to take OTAs you must be on stock rom and stock recovery. Be rooted will not be a problem if you have these stock but when OTA installed you will lose root access.
If I am wrong, correct me someone.

Let me start with, Thank you so much for your time
However, It seems like I'm unable to install the right drivers on my PC for my phone and adb doesn't detect my device (which is strange as CF-auto-root did see the device and worked fine)
I walked through multiple tutorials about installing drivers. Actually have windows detecting my phone fine (I see it in device manager) and I've reinstalled google USB drivers multiple times now, rebooting my PC and deleting drivers and reinstalling them
I've justed factory reset my phone, but that just got me to a Google logo stuck (which I read about in your link in your signature)..
Because adb doesn't detect my device I'm unable to pull build.prop... which means I feel stuck again.
Would you have a direction for me to go towards to continue my journey through Nexus5-Land?

If you're using Windows 8, 8.1 or 8.1U1 you'll need to disable driver signature enforcement.
Try flashing the factory images in fastboot?
Could somebody not just make a flashable zip with the correct build.prop?
Failing that, just reflash the ROM.

Glad you got it sorted but, unless you couldn't boot into recovery, you didn't need to go back to stock.
Flashing the correct build.prop or ROM you were using should have sorted it out, without losing any data (you would have lost any system mods if you flashed the ROM again, though).
I'm only mentioning this in case somebody else searches and finds this thread for the same problem.
I've changed the build.prop loads of times on many devices and only once it went into a bootloop. Flashing a build.prop zip sorted it.
