Hi.:highfive:
at first, sorry for bad english. En is not my first (and even second!) language.
i want to buy a win phone and 8X attracts my eyes!
now, i have 2 important questions that i should have their answer before buying the smartphone.
1- Is this smartphone supports dlna?
and
2- Nokia offers few softwares for its mobile phones, I need to know: These softwares can be installed on this phone? (Especially the camera app)
again, sry for bad English.
1) There are apps which support DLNA. Depends quite what you want to do. Server, client or controller..?
2) I think its only Nokia Here and maps, at least from a quick look in the app store from my 8x. No Nokia camera app that I can see.

Hi All,
Myself Vadim Segal, looking for a windows mobile phone. I want a best mobile phone which is great in terms of everything. And, I want you people to suggest me which one should I go for.
Thanks in advance!
Vadim Segal
HTC HD2 then you can also run android wp7 etc etc on an awesome device. But WHY would you even want to start on a discontinued OS?

This is the Windows Phone 7 forum, not Windows mobile. They aren't the same OS (although they share some code at a low level, kind of like the way Android and Red Hat Enterprise Linux share some code). Are you asking for suggestions of a WP7 device?
Buy Nokia Lumia 710 or 800

Hello Mr Vadim Segal,
As I have seen above most of the people have suggested you Nokia Lumia 800. I would also suggest you the same. I am using this handset and I think you will also like it.It has many features that most of the users today want in their mobile phone starting from with window support to every advance features like 3g, wifi, GPS etc.. and yes the good battery back up for which Nokia is famous for. Now the version is also available.
You need to be clear that Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 are 2 different OSes and Lumia 800 is Windows Phone.
I am using HTC HD2 and i love it. It's main advantage is, you can install multiple OS. But recently i am facing key stripe problem on my phone and i already wasted money to repair it.
So i want to know, is there is other best model like HD2 which have ability to install multiple OS and best in hardware.
Thanks
Simple answer is no. The HD2 was the last of a dieing breed.

+1 to the answer being no. The HD2 came at a very convenient time, when its specs were simply the best of any phone at the time and the software was at the end of its life. This sparked such a huge development effort and, as you can see, has created what is probably the most diverse device in existence. Not only that, but I just don't know if it will actually be possible to use other OSes on any other phones (don't think any native Android phones can run WP7 or vice versa).

Hi everybody, I was going through the play store today and found an app called Whistle Locator Pro.
You can literally find your phone just by whistling, really cool!
I think this app is only available on Android and iOS for now, so sorry windows phone users :/.
(Just to let you know I am not in any way affiliated with the app, but just wanted to share it with all of you, so please do not ask me or blame me for any problems!)

Just recognize there's probably a heft battery cost to an application that continuously monitors for a whistle, even with the display off.
I "re-animated" my HTC 7 Pro by replacing the digitizer and upgrading the internal memory.
It worked and the phone is just great with its keyboard.
After my HTC 7 Pro broke some months ago, I bought a Lumia 800. Great phone but I miss the keyboard, that's why I tried now to repair the old HTC 7 Pro.
What I really like with my Lumia is the NOKIA drive - just perfect, but the phone has only a poor battery life when doing the traffic navigation.
The HTC 7 Pro has a better battery, that's why I would like to use if for traffic navigation.
Is there any way to install NOKIA drive on a HTC 7 Pro?
It is a standard (Swiss) HTC 7 Pro, unlocked (all sim cards work) and it has all HTC updates.
Do I need to root the phone? How does this work?
I would like to keep the operating system like it is (it works great) - thus, is there any chance to convince the phone to install the NOKIA drive app?
I am a nweby with all this flashing/rooting/... stuff. Any information, background knowledge, guide (for the HTC 7 Pro) would be really great!
Thank you in advance!
Best,
Peter
Using dev-unlock, you could install the Nokia Marketplace XAP (see my signature) but the Nokia Drive app, although you could install it, would refuse to run on your non-Nokia phone. With full-unlock (i.e. custom ROM) you could either trick it into running (I don't know if this is safe, but it's possible) or install a modified version of the app (which is technically illegal in much of the world but pretty common), though.

i dont get it, it must be because i m a newb. i read news saying nokia drive is now opened to other windows phone 7. i just downloaded the nokia drive 3.0.0.0.xap (although no idea yet what to do with it .
i also read that availability on windows phone will depend on phone maker decision.
could you please be more specific about "tricking it into running", or how to get and obtain a modified version of the app?
i m very surprised that i did not find more threads about installing this very good app on our pro 7

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1086
Here you can find Dynamics rom 2.0 with nokia counter app working and wp7.8.

Hi to all,
several months I did not look for anything on the xda-developers because I bought new Windows Phone 7 device (HTC 7 Trophy) and it still works very good. Xda-developers web was very helpful for me when I owned old HP Ipaq 614c and here was many of great ROMs for that device. So now I have this question:
What is happend with xda-developers.com? I can not find nothing here. I do not understand the new phone operating systems and the way how to "hack" them. But now I am looking for the appropriate ROM for my device and nothing was found I bought new Huawei Ascend G300 and I want to replace Android on it with Windows Phone operating system. Is there any way how to get Windows Phone working on that device? I found only some youtube video where somebody has Ascend G300 with WP8.
GeogrX
PS: I hope you understand me even though my english is not very good
Sadly there isn't any real wp8 available for any android phone. The YouTube ones may be using themes. You can download launcher 8 from playstore to feel wp8 on android

**** the any louncher. I think that I should to work with android until my Windows Phone will be back from authorized service. I broked the display on it. But I have to say that Microsoft build very good system. More better than android. Stability and working with WP is more simple than with android. In compare with Windows mobile 6.x it differ in that we can not try various custom rom as easy like on older phones. Only HTC HD2 looks like universal device which can work under MS systems and android. Thats bad...
