I'm going to say some things not to be mean or rude but to keep you out of trouble. It is not installing because you do not know what you are doing and have not taken the initiative to learn some basics for yourself. Except for the fact you are not on the correct ROM to install this update in the first place, I would say losing root and TWRP would be the best thing for now.
You are going screw up your device and have no idea how to fix it yourself or even what information to provide for others to help you fix it. Your best bet would to be restoring to stock with a factory image and not screw around until you are up to speed.
There are ton of FAQ's and guides on this site in the general sections. Learn how to install and use ADB and fastboot. Read up on the different types up zip files and how they are installed. If you are using a one click, understand what ADB or fastboot commands are going on behind the scenes and exactly what it is pushing to your device.
Once you have a general understanding of things, please come and play around as much as you want. If you do something that causes a bootloop you will at least know how to recover your device.

A 5.4Mb recovery is not going to fit in a 1.4Mb zip file. Also see post 3, 4 and 8. Root and TWRP or CWM will remain intact. Bad information is worse than no information.

Not trying to give bad info just relating my personal experience. You are correct that a full recovery image file at 5.4mb could not fit, even zipped, in a 1.4mb update, however, a full recovery image file is not needed to change the behavior of things. Root and the ability to boot back into TWRP were lost during my update process. It was easily corrected but it did happen. Others have reported a different experience. That was mine.
A good scientist reports ALL observations and reserves judgement until a complete data set is established.

Thank you so much! I finally have my stock recovery back! I've been wanting to do a factory reset for a while now. Put su in survival mode and reset. Another question though, is there a custom recovery I can install on mk2?
No custom recoveries. It should be used to restore your broken stock ".img" from already trying to flash a custom ".img"
This is NOT a zip, tar, rar,NONE Odin file.

You can flash this with heimdall, just make sure you have the heimdall drivers installed (or use linux) and than use this command while you have the phone connected in download mode

heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img

everything was fine till i installed a apk to control system settings then it went into boot loop
i've "adb flashed boot.img from a boost rom and sideloaded it threw CMWrecovery.
It's been flashing system for an hour and a half.
is there a boot, recovery and rom that will fix this problem, even if its stock.
all keep seeing is the recovery and boot.img
i want to put everything back the way it was stock or not
WHAT SHOULD I DID I'M AT A LOSS !!!
Please Help, Thanks in advance
@angelus9151
You can't flash a boot.img via sideload and you can't flash a boot.img via adb. Has to be with fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Your boot.img is most likely fine, you just need to restore your system partition. Did you make a backup of your device using your custom recovery? If so, then you need to restore using that backup. Otherwise, I can provide a link to either my TWRP backup (not CWM compatible), an RUU, or my deodexed Rom. Your choice. First, if you already have a backup made up, then apply it. Otherwise, let me know.

I had TWRP on before CWM but even when i would load that it would still bootloop thats why i used CWM. Just one question if i want to root it again without a system control app this time will i be able to use this exe file to restore it if it happens again. it took me a year before i tried it because the first time there was no roms and i bootlooped that HTC one SV and had to fork over $300.00 bucks for a new one but i figured that i would root it because of busybox.

Its an ruu, an ruu is about as legit as you are going to get when it comes to restoring your phone. So yes, it will work . If your phone bootlooped when you flashed twrp in the past then my guess is that you either used the wrong fastboot commands and wrote it to another partition by accident, or you used a TWRP that was not presumably built for your phone and thus used another TWRP designed for another device.

If you are about to do something to your phone, make sure you know exactly what you are doing, why you are doing it, how it works, why it works, should I make a mistake what are my escape routes, and if all else fails - plan B. If none of these are set to mind then I recommend you do absolutely nothing to your phone until you actually understand its method.

Bootloader must be unlocked if you are S-On.

Thank you for everything. This is forth phone I've rooted a phone. First three where easy : evo 4g, galaxy 3s, galaxy prevail. But this was tricky not as many rims out there for it. Again thank you. Now that I fixed it I'm going root it again just no system tweaking apps for me
Hi, So i just bought this device and I've looked all over the internet to root my htc one sv on BOOST mobile. I unlocked the bootloader but then must have been following the wrong guide and flashed a wrong recovery or something. I can boot just not into recovery, it gets stuck "entering recovery". Does anyone know a recent and more updated way to root this device?! Thank you so much in advance!

[DEPRECATED] Unofficial TWRP v2.7.0.3 for m8vzw

USE THIS INSTEAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711051
============================================================================================
Now that s-off has been released, here's a working TWRP for the Verizon M8.
FYI: Because I'm lazy I did not build this from source. I simply ported the GSM twrp and replaced the variant specific bits with our stuff. I have also not extensively tested this, so beware!
Pre-Requisites:
- s-off (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- fastboot and adb binaries (I'm sure you can use the search button and figure out how to do this)
- download this: deleted
Boot into fastboot mode:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Install the img downloaded from above:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.3-m8vzw-UNOFFICIAL.img
You may then either boot back into your rom using: fastboot reboot
or
Use the menu in the bootloader to reboot or (via the HBOOT menu) reboot into recovery
Sweet. Thanks

I did a backup with TWRP. Everything went smooth for me.

awesome I've been waiting for a usable TWRP. Does it actually mount external SD card so we can backup to there?
Works awesome! Thanks.
Flashed and booted fine. Did not try it out yet. Thanks for updating.

Backs up to the internal card fine but reboots into TWRP for me when I try to send a backup to the external SD.

Flashed via ADB. Can backup on SD Card! Thanks InvisibleK! :good:
Reflashed using ADB this time and still just restarts TWRP when trying to backup to my external SD card. There is plenty of room before someone asks

It restarted for me when I tried to backup to SD too. Then when I enabled compression it allowed me to make a backup to my SD card no problem.

Difference between XNPH22R and XNPH22Q?

so cyanogen website has the XNPH22Q zip file, however its not flashable with TWRP when I tired, but xda forum has XNPH22R which is flashable version. What's makes the difference? And how would I go about to flashing the original XNOH22Q ROM from official cyanogen website? Thanks in advance.

Where did you see the 22Q on official CM website?
It's already for a couple of weeks 25R.
https://cyngn.com/products/oneplusone/
And it's specifically says cm-11.0-XNPH25R-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip, so should be pushed with fastboot.
Oh lol nvm I'm going crazy . lol.
Would u know how to push with fastboot? The commands and process I mean

IF I'm not mistaken it should be used SIDELOAD METHOD:
adb sideload NAMEofROM.zip

You don't adb sideload a factory image file, its not a flashable zip to begin with. Doing so might brick your device

of course you do not sideload if you have factory image as xxx.img file, than you just flash.
But in case of OPO, we have xxx_fastboot.zip file (and it's not a flash-able in recovery from SD card file).
Please give your version, how to instal OPO's "factory_image.zip" into OPO
Yes, please can someone explain how to flash a factory image on the OPO.
