Hallo XL-Experts!
I tried to flash my XL (.31 FW, open bootloader, Vengeance Kernel 1.30).
I put it in Flash-Mode by pressing Vol- while plugging in the USB-cable.
I clicked through the flashtool to select the proper firmware, but suddenly my phone rebooted.
Is this normal? Does it reboot after a while without doing anything or do i have a problem?
Macmol
Did the FlashTool display any message?

No, I haven't started flashing yet.
But the phone reboots.
And now I don't feel save to start the flashing process.

Maybe a stupid question but how full is your battery?
Your phone doesn't charge while in fastboot mode
Also: Can you make a screenshot of the log in Flashtool when your phone restarts
The Battery is between 95 and 100%.
Here is the screen (the phone was not touched all the time) :

Seems strange, phone connects successful, disconnects and then reboot.
But it takes more then a minute.
Is it always the same amount of time between connection and rebooting or is it different every time.
There could be a connection problem with your usb(cable).
Could you try another cable or usb-port?
I have tried another cable and another computer.
Additional info:
When I connect, the led is green for a second and then dark again.

New Screen: Almost the same time for the reboot.
Is it possible, that the vengeance kernel has something to do with the reboot?
The phone was succesfully flashed with the stock kernel half a year ago.... IMHO the kernel is the only difference.

My first thought was 'Drivers not installed' but the screenshot proves different.
The last thing I could think of is to flash another kernel (boot.img) and try again.
But before you flash it:
Flashing a boot.img takes a few seconds. Only do it if the time between connecting and disconnecting (& rebooting) takes more then 30 seconds (at least).
If the problem still occurs: I have no idea what it could be.

As far as i know, flashing the Kernel is done in Fastbbot-Mode.
In this mode, there is no Reboot, only in Flashmode.
Does anybody have a Kernel, that i can flash on the .31 firmware?
A little Feedback:
I flashed the new firmware with the Flashtool.
No reboot whilde doing this. So i think the Reboot when "doing nothing" is just a kind of security option. Flashing is save.
Merry Christmas!
This happened to me aswell. It just kept rebooting after it said preparing files for flashing. What I did was, I turned off the phone and connected via flash mode and the process continued

Hi, I'm using Zeus Build 6, all was going well till yesterday. while plugging for charge show the charging symbol but instead it just depleted my battery (the number % shows on the battery)
restarted the phone, cleared battery status but nothing happen, Even tried with USB , but same thing.
It did happen in past, I just did a factory re-set and all worked fine after then.
writing here to see if i can do something to find out what exactly happening. I'm also not able to connect my phone to computer as usb connection option is not appearing. (tried with diff port/wire).
Any insight, direction where to head.
[right now i'm on 20% battery I'll wait till 10% then will do another factory reset to see if it solve]
Thanks.
I'm assuming you weren't using your phone while charging.
I believe it is the kernel. I had this problem with Entropy's daily driver before. It is just a bad flash. Try going back to stock and re-root. Then, flash Zeus (comes with infusion kernel). After that, flash another kernel via Odin (SGS Kernel Flasher gave me problems before).
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply, Yes I do not use phone while charging. I believe that kernal problem because when ever i switch off my phone and connect charger or usb cable it automatically get switch on every time. Simply flashing zeus again (wipe all things) will do ? is it necessary to go back to stock?
If i flash any rom that means Kernal too will be flashed with that ?
I advice you to do this:
- Go back to stock
- Flash Zeus (Zeus comes with Infusion Kernel which may have caused the problems)
- if problem still persists, flash another kernel through either CWM or Odin
Return to stock and do complete restore to hopefully clear the borked areas of the bad flash you seemed to have.
You can try to just reflash Zeus, but I cannot guarantee that will work as that already happened to me. As much as possible, use Odin to flash kernels.

I am no tech-geek, but I think that kernels are the ones responsible for the boot; overclocking; undervolting; and everything else that is needed to keep the phone going. ROMs are kind of just "like an Operating System" but not really.
Think of it as the ROM being the car and the kernel being the engine as it is responsible for the running of the processor and what not.
Don't quote me on anything, but that is my attempt. As I've said, I am no tech geek and please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok I flashed
Just flashed again, 1 Hemidal back to stock, 2 Hemidal Entropy kernal to get Red CMW.
3 does the cleaning 4 flashed Aeon.
Now charging is fine but still facing problem in usb connection to phone. some time it got recognized some time not. already changed the cable/port but problem persist.
[ In going from Step 1 to Step 2 you may find problem while putting your phone in download mode, In that case just download ADB, put phone setting->debug mode enabled connect with usb and run "adb reboot download" from command prompt it will do the trick ]

Hey There,
We had the same issue with many units and solved all by doing the following:
-Flashing the unit back to stock
-Performing a factory data reset after flashing(This is a must)
Note: Even though your device will not connect to the computer in PDA mode you should still be able to connect in download mode so it can be flashed with ODIN.(Unless if it's hardware related)
Hi,
I have a xperia e dual and was using NoZ rom (stock JB based ) till now. I recently installed the XboosT (stock ICS based) rom. After flashing the rom via twrp everything was okay except i was facing the baseband problem and also the battery was always showing 100%. So i tried to flash the baseband ftf file. But after i flashed the ftf and rebooted using flashtool, my mob is not switching on. When i press the power button, the device is vibrating, but not even the sony logo is showing. I tried charging it for 10+ hours, but nothing improved. I am unable to find what may be wrong. Please if possible suggest some possible solution . Thanks in advance.

Can you enter flashmode or fastboot mode?
This prob usually arises when you flash an incompatible kernel. It fails to start.

To charge your phone follow these steps dude !
1. Pull out your battery first !
2. Plug-in charger now to the phone without battery inserted.
3. Now you'll see an LED glowing which is usually used while normal charging.
4. Insert your battery while pressing the back button and make sure the charger is connected with the phone while doing this process.
5. Now your phone will be charging. Have a nice day ! cheers...

I already tried that too, but still not working.
Not sure, but try this. Take out the battery, and hold the power button for ~5 seconds. Connect the phone to a PC. Flash the stock FTF. When it asks to press the back button, insert the battery (without removing the microUSB). The flash will begin. After the flash is complete, let the phone be for about half an hour, then remove the cable and turn it on.

If this is the case then it is bricked. Take it to the store and if your under warranty get it fixed for free. If not your only choice is to pay to get if fixed.

First of all !
I think you might have a battery issue too !
First charge your battery fully !
Incase it isn't charging follow these steps :
- Pull out battery
- Plug in the charger and start charging
- After the charging LED turns on, insert the battery while pressing the back button and during this don't stop charging.
- Congo, now you have your phone charging.
Now, make sure you have an unlocked bootloader of your Phone to try the flashing things and if you already have it unlocked then try relocking it with Flashtool and apply for warranty ! or you can still flash your original stock firmware with locked bootloader too or use Sony Update Service.
You can check out this thread for the Sony Xperia E Single stock firmware and guide to get back into stock :
Link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568176
Or if you want your bootloader unlocked and want to fix the phone then try flashing the stock firmware of your device.
As mentioned by other members in the earlier posts.

Hello, my problem is that exactly yesterday i turned my phone off
wanted to turn it on ,but it simply doesn't work
can't get it to recovery or the pc communication mode (i guess it's locked anyway, i don't know).
Thought it was battery, charged it to 100%, nothing.
Literally anything would help me.

Constant boot loop even after flashing rom
My sony e3 gets in boot loop every one or two day even when i try to flash the stock rom or lineage, nitrogen one.
So basically i have to flash any of the rom every now and then to keep it running. Can anyone please suggest me a solution or at least tell me why this happens??
Did you do a wipe before flashing?
