ok so i always use nova launcher because i hate the google search bar at the tope on the screen.. but i want to try the stock launcher out now.. i only want 3 screens.. i want the middle screen to be my homescreen but everytime i hit the home button it goes to the screen all the way to the left?? anyway to fix this or thats just how stock launcher??
That is how the Google Experience launcher is, if you want to be able to change, you'll have to run a different launcher.
I believe thats just how the GPE launcher behaves.
wow that stinks.. i really want to use it too.. that and the google search bar that stuck on the top of the home screen is the deal braker for me.. wish there was a way to hack that.. im using nova now but would love to use just the stock launcher

Hi Guys, i have one question:
how to change icons on lock screen?
For example, i have four icons: Phone, Mail, Camera and Messeges.
I want Phone, GMAIL, Contacts and Browser.
How can i do this?
Thanks a lot
I've changed mine, let me have think how I did it and get back to you.
Got it,
On the standard home screen (wont work with adw for example) press the bottom right paint pallete icon.
It's under there.
qbert456 thanks man
it works for me
is there any way to get rid of them altogether? ie i dont want any icons on my lock screen
This is probably going to be a stupid question, but I just flashed Humble 1.62 with ADW Launcher and accidently removed the app drawer icon from the center of the dock, and now can't seem to get it back. I reset ADW Launcher to clear all the settings, and rebooted my phone, but still cannot get the dock configuration back to how it was.
I how to add apps to the dock, but dont know how to add the button for the app drawer itself back. Can anyone help me out here? I don't see any option in the settings to add it back in either. Thanks.
Nevermind...I figured it out. Long pressed on home screen, and created a custom short cut...then dragged it down to my dock.
Anyone know how to make stock lockscreen into transparent lockscreen. Im using paper live wallpaper and i hate when i saw different wallpaper between home screen and lock screen. Yes i know i can use third party app but no third party lockscreen replacement app works in landscape mode except widgetlocker and i cant install widgetlocker for some reason(widget locker cannot be install. Please free up some space). I have 1.6 gb free memory. Idk why.
Unlock your device then tap and long press on home screen. You will notice that there are 3 options for changing wallpaper on home screen, lock screen or apply for both.
I cant make live wallpaper for lock screen but thanks anyway.. i think i need to live that way..
I'm looking for a way to remove the additional shortcuts placed at the bottom of the lock screen. I haven't found anything in the settings. I remember with LG and or Samsung having a lock screen topic in settings to add remove these
OK I figured it out. Remove all icons in the dock of stock launcher. Either use stock launcher with no dock icons or choose a 3rd party launcher like Nova.

I've always used Nova, but those icons were still there on the lock screen. However, I switched to Sense Home to remove them, and they are now gone after changing back to Nova.
Thanks!!

You can also use some trick here....
Go to
APPS >
example choose "CHROME" >
click DISABLE >
then, Lock your phone....
Drag icon CHROME to above.
Then after you lock again your screen, you will see no more CHROME shortcut in lock screen...
Then, enable back the apps.
Hi, I have a Samsung S10+ running Android 10 and One UI 2.5.
I am constantly getting an issue with Nova Launcher where if i clear my recent apps the screen refreshes and then One UI takes over and it goes to that home screen rather than Nova. If i then press the Home button again it then takes me back to Nova's home screen again and does stay there until i clear my recent apps again.
Nova is definitely set to the default launcher and when this happens i go into the Nova settings and it shows no launcher is set as default, i then set it as default but the same thing keeps happening each time.
I have tried clearing the cache from both Nova and One UI but this didn't fix anything.
Is this a know issue? It has happened for a while but wasn't that annoying but since a recent android update it seems to be happening all the time now.
Does anyone know if i can fix this?
Thanks
James

Yes , it's because since Android 10, the nav bar and recent UI are managed by your default launcher. That's really infuriating I know. But if you root your device with magisk, there is a module called QuickSwitch that allows you to set a third-party launcher as the nav bar UI provider.
Hope that helps
