Nexus 5 display completely gone - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ,
I bought nexus 5 from USA and start using it in India, so when i start downloading apps etc from play store it worked for some time, and suddenly display is completely gone, cant see any thing at all. however when i connect the device to computer, it detects it and shows the contents etc. when connected to PC, android device manager detected it and I erased all teh content from there assuming that it might reset it to factory settings and if that may help, but nothing, Not sure if its a hardware issue or software, issue when i tried Ring option from android device manager it rings with sound but no display at all, any idea how do i go about it, its been just one day since i start using it in India, and since i bought it from USA there is no warranty support here in India.
Thanks
Dhananjay

[Q] Does this Nexus S sound fixable?

I am looking at getting my first Android device and came across this used Nexus S offering:
"The Phone is in great shape and there are no scratches on the screen. The phone comes with a case , screen cleaner, charger, and original box plus manual. Reason I am selling the phone is because my friend tried to root the phone, and now it doesn't connect to WiFi anymore it seem to be a software problem(easily fixable). Everything else in the phone works fine it can still connect to 3G make phone calls go on the internet."Does this device sound fixable? As it is a Google phone, can I connect it to PC and d/l updates directly from Google to make it stock again? Or should I avoid this device altogether?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] yp-g70cwy/xaa malfunctioning

Hello, hoping someone here can help me. I have the galaxy player 5 (yp-g70cwy/xaa). When I first got it ran a software program that only allowed it to do one thing which was rate tv programs that I watched. I did a factory reset, wiped the cache and the davlik cache as well...after that the phone would only open as far as the samsung logo.
I recently started tinkering with it again and I rooted the phone, flashed the rom, used .pit files, with odin and superoneclick. I recently used android commander and I finally saw life! The only problem is that I will either get the message the setup wizard is not working and it will leave me on a blank screen that only shows the time, battery, and whether or not the usb is connected. I can connect the usb to the computer and drag and drop stuff into the ext sd card. The internal memory and internal sd card do not read. My computer shows the yp-g70 in devices but it will not show it under removable devices.
When I connect it to android commander I can see all the files on the device and I was finally able to get the phone to the play store. I logged on using my gmail account and I was able to download apps (that all worked fine). I used some third party apps to do what the phone could not do which was open up the settings, camera, etc. The home screen is completely blank. The lock screen shows the wallpaper I downloaded but not the home screen. After awhile the phone turned off with a full battery and it will only work if I reset to factory defaults but then I have to register with google all over again. Does not save anything!
Can anyone please tell me how to fix this device. I have been working on it for a week already and no improvement.
Update
I now have the phone to where it can download items from the play store. I can use the device like normal But I had to download an app for the start key because I cannot get to the options without it. When i downloaded and rebooted the recovery it still gets stuck at the samsung logo. I have to type something into the search bar in the android commander and the phone boots to the play store. It randomly turns off and I have to recover the files all over again...I dont know. It seems like an improvement but yet I know that there is a file in this phone that is bad. I downloaded anti virus but it is still not picking up anything.
any luck on this?
I have the same one and just started looking to see how I can tinker with it .. .

[Q] Note Edge problems

I have an Octa core note edge SM-N915S from Korea and i am using it in The Netherlands and have the following problems.
The network keeps dropping out and i have to go into the manual settings and turning it on again.. Is this common?
I can not get it to register when connected via USB to my windows 8.1 OS.
I went to Root (which i have never done before) the device today so i download and read the tutorials bla bla bla and well when i went to plug it into to my pc via USB to commence the root i got no further as i have spent a whole day trying to work out how i can access the MTP box which does pop up on my note 3 when connects to the PC.
I was in the settings part and at the top right corner there is the 3 dots which i held my finger on and then it says
"More options" to which when presses it disappears and does not seem to work. ( I am also not sure if it is a driver problem with Samsung Kies 3 which i have downloaded and replaced various times or it is in fact the phone which is at fault/or both a combination?
I have also read today that apparently this happened on other devices with the Android 4.4.4 update so i am not sure whether this is the cause?
Could these problems be because it is a Korean phone?
Will Rooting the phone rid the thing of Korean-ness, and is it possible to turn this Korean phone into the same model that T Mobile are selling in the UK/EU. I am not a developer etc and just want this phone which i purchased to run on T mobile like other owners of EU phones.
Should it matter being an Octacore phone?
The only thing i can think of is the fact the phone is set to run on the Korean market platform that it is in no way compatible with European platforms?
Is anyone else in the same boat as me?
All help appreciated and i gift you all with praise..

[Q] Soft Brick Huawei Y320-U151

I was watching a video on my phone when all my apps made a pop-up saying "Unfortunately *app* has stopped working". This happened for every app, I tried to factory reset from recovery mode because I couldn't access Settings, but when I did the factory reset nothing changed and the problem persisted. I decided to just leave the phone and the next day it wouldn't turn on at all no matter what and when I tried to charge it and left it for two hours it seemed as if it wasn't charging because the temperature of the phone or the charger didn't change so I came to the conclusion that my phone is bricked. When I plug the phone in by USB to a computer, the computer makes the connected sound.

Any Updates on what happened with your phone?
Hello. Your phone uses MTK Cpu? (You can see in gsmarena and if ur cpu for example is MTxxxx)
If yes then install VCOM drivers for your phone on pc (works well on windows xp) after that see if pc finds your device or not (in device manager u can see that) if the pc finds it and there are no problems u can flash it with SP-Flashtool .
and if no, it means there is an hardwere problem (it happens when phone falls on ground and etc...)
You can find a guid on internet for flashing your phone
Sorry i didnt explaind everything and sorry for my bad english

Question Problems with initial connection

Hello
I've been given a GW 4 recently. However, I have a not very new, but still working phone, which is a Redmi Note 4 (mido). At the beginning I've had no problem with the connection. I was able to install directly from the store the main apps needed: Samsung wereable (old gear) and g. watch 4 plugin. And it connected perfectly. Nevertheless, some other apps needed (samsung health and health monitor) are not available for my phone (due to android version). So, to try them, I reseted the watch and connected it to a newer Samsung Phone that I was lended. I had everything working ok but it was just to test all the functions temporaly since I'm planning (but not yet) to buy a new phone and I returned the Samsung phone to his owner.
For these reason I tried to connect the watch to redmi again, but now it's impossible to make it connect. There must be some issue with the phone or something because it detects the watch sometimes, but it happens that bluetooth given code to connect is random and does not match the one that appears in the watch, or it provides a new code in the phone again while it is already in the connecting procedure, things like that. Normally connection hangs when it reaches 80% or so.. I tried a few things:
-hard reset in the watch (via recovery)
-uninstalling and install the samsung apps
-installing older versions of the apps
-reseting network settings (it cleans bluetooth list of devices)
-cleaning bluetooth app cache and changing bt device name-
-Some other things that I cant remember to no avail
Any idea on how to proceed without factory reset the phone?
Thank you
Do you have more than one Google Account on the phone? I had to sign out of them all bar my main one and it worked.
Hello, I did not realise about this issue so I went through all the possible google accounts that may have included the device, and I remove it from all of them (4 in total)
But still no connection. The best I can achive is "Please finish the config in smartphone" in the watch and stuck at 88% of "preparing your watch" in the smartphone. But even when this happens it seems like Samsung wereable feels like the watch disconnects and it asks again to search for a device and to pair with a different bt code, while samsung watch 4 plugin stays 88% progress of connection.
It's quite strange. It must be some problem with the plugin.
After a while it says in the watch that connection was not possible with the phone. And it restablish factory values itself.
