[Q] AT&T Visual Voicemail for Nexus 5 apk - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently just switched over from the iPhone 5! Finally! Lol. I have just about everything else google except for the phones. I am dearly missing the native visual voicemail on the iPhone. I found out AT&T has an app for it on the android market but I cannot for the love of me download it since it's not supported for my device ID. I used apk downloader and it's a no go. Has anyone been able to do this yet? I know the G2 is supported but not the Nexus 5 yet.
Best,
John

There is a visual voice-mail thread here somewhere for AT&T. I bumped into it a few days ago. I'm sure searching general forum and the apps forum for it would help you find it quickly.

Mirrorlink Tech on our phones?

Not sure where else to post this question...Does our phones support Mirrorlink?
I'm am considering purchasing the Sony XAV-601BT which can connect to a compatible android phone. What is special about this is that it litterally mirrors what your phone's screen is and can therefore play apps like Maps, pandora, Angry Birds (LOL), etc...
I now have unlimited data so it's an easy decision to make when I buy it but I don't know if SGS4G is compatible.
I am wondering the exact same thing. From what I saw from the CES video it works with Nokia and Samsung already. I wonder if we can pull the app from the samsung and use it on any phone.

It may be available on Europe ROM with its DriveLink APK.
The MirrorLink is quite young on its development and spec, the version of Mirrorlink spec .is now 1.0.1 or 1.1
I didn't see any open source for this implementation yet which may help to make this widely available on smartphone, and car infotainment system.

Here as well. Jacksonville, FL Sprint Galaxy SII E4GT running AOSP 4.1.1 alpha 5.
I guess its everywhere. Started around the time the new Google Maps update was pushed out. This also happened recently in june when a slew of system apps were updated in the play store. The situation resolved itself back then.

experiencing the same issue. Nook tablet running cm10. Seems to have occured after google maps update.
Getting this on my Sprint GNex.

Come Up of the year.

Recently went to a yard sale and found a Nexus S for sale $5 Guy said his kid messed it up that it didn't turn on. I thought to my self what the heck and bought it when I got home I went on XDA. It was a simple thing all I had to do was access boot screen and do a reset. Working great..
But now i have a question to any who read this. Now so far all I know is that is Sprint Nexus S but I see there is also a 4g I know its a dumb question but where would I find it. Now my new mission for the week is finding out before I start flashing Roms. So far I have a Galaxy 2, a Nexus S, hopefully soon Galaxy 4 and the phone that started my addition Galaxy S Captivate.
Any one have any good ROM,apps, and kernal recommendations would appreciate.

Tmobile HD Voice on Nexus 5

I apologize if this has been asked before.. tried searching but search apparently isnt working right now- "Search is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience."
I received my Nexus 5 this past Tuesday and havent noticed any of my calls (particularly to my wife, also on T-mobile) being HD quality like I would typically get on my GS4. Does anyone know if HD Voice is enabled on our phones and/or how to enable it if its not on by default? I'm stock and rooted.
Thanks!
I have the same issue with Telstra in Australia. I have a Nexus 5, and know it supports wideband audio, but it's not enabled. iPhone 5 with same sim has it working. SGS4 also works.
I was on HD voice tonight talking with my wife. Was a nice surprise as I didn't know the N5 supported it. I had it also with my GS4, but it sounds much better on the N5. This phone just keeps getting better

FYI I performed the following test. I have been unable to get T-Mobile HD Voice (amr-wb) working so far.
1) unlocked N5 bootloader, flashed custom recovery, CM11 12/23 nightly
2) added ro.ril.enable.amr.wideband=1 to the /system/build.prop
3) performed steps 1 and 2 on a Nexus 4
4) Placed a call from the N5 to the N4. Placed a call from the N4 to the N5. The voice quality was standard gsm, not HD Voice. This was verified by attempting to send a 7khz tone from one device to the other (no tone was heard).

I also listened to Brian Klug's audio recording of a supposed HD Voice call on T-Mobile from a N5 to an N5. The quality seemed like standard gsm rather than 16khz audio. The N5 sample was compared to another amr-wb sample he had posted.

I'm fairly certain the N4 doesn't support HD voice on T-Mobile. It didn't when I had the phone. Now that I have given it to my Dad, I haven't experienced an HD call with him. I get HD quality with my wife and her HTC One and my friend with his S3.

Oh you'll notice alright! It sounds completely different. Matter of fact, the first time I experienced it was this past spring when me and the wife got GS4's on t-mobile. Thought something was wrong with our phones. We were just so used to non Hd voice calls turns out.
Both you and the other party you're talking with need to be on the same 3g/4g connection for it to work. You also both have to have hd voice capable phones. It can be hd voice one minute then change to non hd voice as soon as one of you drops to edge for instance.
I wished all calls (landlines included) were in hd voice. It's really nice. It's so crystal clear and different than what you're used to, that it is a little freaky.

The Nexus 4 does NOT support HD voice on TMO. Even Brian Klug (who OP cites) mentioned it in his review of the Nexus 5. I have a Nexus 5 and my wife has a GS4, both on TMO. We have experienced HD voice. It's alright, but we don't use our phone enough for it to matter.
I do believe the people who rave over it over-hype it. It's louder, it's clearer, but not mind-blowingly so IMHO. (And please don't say, "oh that means you haven't experienced HD voice." My wife calls me on a near daily basis and I notice when it is HD voice and when it is not. HD voice does NOT sound like she's in the same room as me, as if we are not on our phones. Maybe one day there will be an HD Voice rev. 5.0 or something that does that, but we aren't there yet. It is an improvement though, I will give you all that.

My first paragraph deals with Nexus 4 and HD voice which your post discussed. No need to snap at me about it.

Galaxy Note 7 SPen features for the Note 5

Since Samsung had cancelled the Note 7, they should port the Note 7 features to their loyal Note 5 customers. I was slipping the 7 because it wasn't enough new for me to upgrade. Was holding out for the 9 but I don't know now. Giving is something for being loyal Samsung fans would go a long way. Oh...I can't root due to company security policies.

I wonder what Note 7 apps can be ported to our Verizon Note 5? Some of the goodies without a burnt hand. Does anyone know?
