Hello guys, after trying the methods to install CWM Recovery on GT-I8262, I was stuck on CWM Recovery. Then after searching the forum, I found this thread solution which helped me get back to my OS. But now I'm facing a very weird problem. Few of my old apps are installed on the OS, but a lot of others are missing. So, I went to reinstall them. When I downloaded from Play Store, it showed me a -21 error. Then I used some APKs from PC and tried installing them. Only one of those APKs were successfully installed, and ironically that app wasn't installed before. So, the main problem is I can't install my old apps. I have all backed up by "Titanium Backup" yesterday, but I can't even install that. Can somebody help?

okay so im having a little trouble flashing cwm recovery on my sidekick 4g. i tried the rom manager method,. i tried the method where you change the recovery image manually. havent had no luck at all. when i go to my stock recovery to "reinstall packages all it says is "E:failed to verify whole file signature
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted.
help??? please and thank you..
Im having the same issue hoping this can be resolved
I have had so many isssues with this phone.
Last night actually, I had a similar problem.
I had to format my sd card (don't forget to back it up) and then restore the phone to stock firmware.
Then I rooted the phone again (a file called sk4g with good recovery).
Redownloaded rom manager.
Flashed clockwork recovery.
Rebooted into restore.
Reinstalled packages.
Seems to be working fine now.
All the files you need are in the sidekick forums on this page.
This is possibly the best website I have come across.

Factory reset should do the trick
You need to find the gapps package for the Android version you are on, then flash the .zip in your recovery.

Have you flashed any ROMs to your phone? Not flashing the correct Gapps.zip at the same time would cause your problem. If you are still stock, then a factory reset should do the trick.

Don't factory reset through the privacy menu. Do it through CWM or whatever recovery you are using and you will stay rooted

I succesfully added clockwork recovery, and installed the cyanogen mod 10.1 (4.2.2) to my phone, however when I click reboot, it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo
I then took the battery out and did a dalvic cache clear but the same issue occured... My install was succesfull, its just that it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo...
what have I done wrong?? Should I try install a different mod?? Or have I bricked my phone?? Or is there a foolproof way of installing a mod using Odin??
PS: (additional info)
I renamed the mod file before installing if that helps
I have no backup files
the only thing I can access on the phone atm is the Recovery Mode and Download Mode...
You would have backed up your previous rom..try fixing permissions....if not check cynogenmod is for your device or not.... If not download your device os reflash it by installing stock recovery.

I dont want to hijack this thread, but I have basically the same problem. I rooted my GT-I9300 phone and all was well, until I ran "NoBloat" to remove unwanted apps. Thereafter it runs up to the Samsung logo, then I get the following messages in succession: "Unfortunately messaging has stopped", "Unfortunately the process com.android has stopped", "smartcard service has failed" and "unfortunately the phone has stopped". I removed the battery, tried to flash the ROM again using the standard Samsung.tar file to restore to factory settings, but it made no difference. I am able to read the S3 files when linked to my Desktop and I can get it into download mode. I have run out of ideas and need help from the clever members.
If you get force closes fix permissions
Hit thanks if I helped

Firstly, cwm doesn't work. Its garbage. I've semi bricked my phone well over 10 times trying to flash cm on it with cwm. Install goomanager and install TWRP to flash.
Secondly, once into TWRP recovery. Go to wipe>advance wipe> and select delvik cache, data, cahce, storage. Then go back to TWRP home and install the cm 10.1 and also the gapps package.

I think that bloatware app has taken away crucial files needed to keep the stability of an app up...
I don't know what I would do to fix that...
PS: please message me the samsung.tar file

ive tried twrp and cwm, and both seem to have extremely bad problems on my phone. i haven't seen others have problem with their phones but mine has gone full retard. with twrp, wiping takes a super really long time and most of the time it does not wipe anything even though its says completed. it cant flash any rom either. it just immediately says failed. so i tried cwm thinking it was a twrp thing, but ive ran into the same issues. i flashed a rom thinking it had wiped (it said it had wiped) but id didnt, it just dirty flashed the rom over stock. can someone suggest what can be going wrong? :crying::crying:
Have you tried using the newest twrp?

i have a mac and no access to a pc, so installing it has been manually through adb commands has been a real headache for me. i first installed it through a tool someone made in the forums for mac but i don't think they have updated it ever since the first release. then i tried using goo manager but it appears the servers are still down.ccc

In TWRP you can check -rom option in Settings menu to wipe the partitions instead of formatting them. The process will take less time.
To flash a rom try to boot into the bootloader then select Recovery mode and flash.
If you are rooted you can install TWRP via Flashify app or even with Terminal commands.
So forgive the noobishness here. I own a Samsung SM-A500H. Basically, I rooted it using Kingroot which worked out fine. Then I flashed a TWRP 3.0.0-1 file using flashify (flashed recovery). The phone rebooted, and I got to the TWRP recovery. So naturally I wanted to reboot my device normally, but it wouldn't do it. It kept rebooting into TWRP recovery. After about 30 tries I gave up and decided to flash the original ROM using Odin. Before I did however, I backed up my Data on my external SD card. The backup files are now present in my SD card.
I want to restore that backup. But with no functioning TWRP recovery so far for my device, can I do it through any other method? Thanks.
After get back to stock
Install titanium backup
Titanium backup is able to restore from Cwm and twrp make sure u have rooted
Give a thanks if i helped u

If you are able to access the phone , there a about zillion apps to restore files from EXT SD card.
If you are not able to access the phone, try ADB sideload.
