http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
using this
it worked
then i installed
sgs_unlock.apk (using computer)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7776555&postcount=1
and it didn't find the code
so i tried to do the pro one, but i dont have wifi connection and of cors my 3g doesn't work (cuz its locked to bell)
so then i tried editing the hex file, and i couldn't find the right code ?
so then i saw this thread

#1 of that post
installing T959UVJI6 OTA Stock ODIN Flashable
then after this
the phone works if its not connected to pc
but when it is connected it doesn't work..
the phone goes dark
then the loading circle thing shows up
then the empty battery thing shows up then the phone turns dark
then the loading circle shows up etcs this repeats..
I can't do anything since it won't connect to pc
my computer doesn't even recognize it, it doesn't show as connected device.
I tried changing the usb settings to
samsung kies/media player/mass storage
none of them works, also tried usb debugging mode
but same thing happens
my phone would turn off (turn dark) then the loading circle then the battery (empty battery) with loading circle, then dark. T_T
i am trying to get my phone to work for 5 hours and I can't do it
I feel like i screwed up my phone and it won't work forever..
What do i do? I really need help.
I also tried factory resetting it but it doesn't help, it just removed my superuser thingy and SGS_Unlock app...
right now it says
model number
SGH-T959
Firmware version
2.1-update1
Baseband version
T959UVI6
kernel version
2.6.29
Build number
ECLAIR.UVI6
I also updated kies to the latest version
Please help me... I need a phone My iphone 4 got stolen yesterday and I got this today and I can't get it to work ...
I don't have the exact model you got but always a galaxy s,I had in the past a similar problem solved copying everything I need on the external usd(the removable one)with an sd reader for pc,then in CWM recovery flashed again the rom in order to achieve again usb functions.....hope this work
So sad. Just bought this phone. I tried to upgrade to ICS via but used the Galaxy S firmware (gti9000) by mistake...turns out ICS isn't out yet for my phone, the SPHD710. While flashing I managed to upload the "modem" file but when it was writing the file (it says "wait 2 minutes for write") odin froze.
and now..
Here's the situation. The phone will boot into the gti9000 firmware (i.e I get to home screen--so I think I'm semi-bricked), but WiFi won't work and the phone crashes a lot. Basically like a "safe-mode". Here are the conditions I'm dealing with
1) Windows 7 will not recognize phone when plugged in. It charges but does not show up in device manger
2) Odin does not recognize the phone at all. It was recognized for a split second on my laptop when I was installing/reinstalling drivers. Can't replicate this.
So basically I'm stuck. I tried going into recovery mode and applying update from SDcard (to revert to stock) but i the SD card won't mount
Anybody help??? PLEASE. I don't want a $500 paperweight.
I can give as many details as you like.
Thanks so much!
Hello!
I have Note 1 N7000, about 2 and a half years old and I'd like to keep using it.
It has it's original OS 4.1.2, factory reset has been performed about 2-3 times.
None of the USB functions work - data transfer, tethering, OTG, nothing. I can only charge the phone (but not with any cable which indicates a bad [worn out] USB port).
The problem came out of nowhere (as it always does) - one day I wanted to transfer files via cable and the phone simply couldn't be recognized by the PC.
Before that I disabled some google's apps (and some others) that I never used so I performed a factory reset just to make sure I didn't disable somenthing required by usb to operate but with no luck.
I ordered a new USB port (the little board with usb) from ebay and installed it today by following instructions from youtube.
The phone can now be charged with any cable (as expected) but all other USB functions still refuse to work (not as expected).
I'm currently out of ideas, what could be the cause?

i would re-flash stock. you should be able to find a guide and files in your devices forum.
you could have some corrupt files, and a factory reset wouldnt fix that.
if stock doesnt fix the problem, you likely would have some additional hardware issue, im not sure what it would be though.
short story: I installed custom ROM (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179332 - the v16) and it still doesn't work.
Long story:
Stock recovery didn't let me to create a backup, nor it allowed me to install ROM from SD card. I couldn't flash via Odin or some other similar tool because my phone's USB doesn't work
I figured out I should try a custom recovery.
Is there any other way to flash a stock ROM (or any other) than installing it from a SD card? I haven't done this before so please, be patient
I found PhilZ Kernel (5.0.3) and CWM recovery (6.something), merged into a single .zip that could be put on a SD card and installed from there. It said it was for XXLT5 (which is my version of 4.1.2) if that matters.
Installed it and now I had that CWM recovery that gave me the ability to create backup and flash from SD card.
I downloaded stock ROM from SamMobile.com, identical to my original one (XXLT5, my country, my operator, TWO mark), put it on SD card, did a full wipe and tried to install it but it said "installation aborted".
Then I downloaded another stock from the same site, also XXLT5 and Croatia but no carrier specified, TRA mark. It was the same size (786 MB) as the previous one if it's of any importance.
That one also refused to install.
Then I searched for a custom ROM until something not too wild shown up, the link is in the beginning of this post.
It installed normally from SD card and it behaves normally too, except for the fact that the USB problem persists.

you cant flash stock firmware through recovery.
take a look at this. it flashes stock firmware from on the device.
you will need to verify there is a version for your device, and how to use it. i have never used it myself. seems simple enough though. put firmware on device, flash with app. done.
Thank you for this, excellent app.
I flashed stock ROM successfully, but USB still doesn't show any signs of life (the only thing it does is charge battery).
...not a very bright future, right?

right, now that you are clean stock, there should be no reason its not working other than hardware.
edit, maybe try some different usb cables, could be you got a bad one.
I have several other cables and other phones (and other PC-s) at home. All combinations work on every PC.
It's only my phone that doesn't work regardless of which cable I use (or which PC I try to connect it to).
One friend suggested me to downgrade it to 2.3.5 (and then try to update it back to 4.1.2 in case it works [or even if it doesn't ]). His idea is that it might work because gingerbread uses USB mass storage protocol instead of MTP.
I downloaded some apps (tried a few of them) which switch from MTP to USB mass storage (in 4.1.2 ), one even required reboot after changing the setting but none of them gave any results.
Somehow I doubt this switching back to 2.3.5 would work, should I even bother?
Hi,
I hope this is the right forum, otherwise mods please move this thread to right one.
Problem
Stock Nougat ROM on Infinix Note 4 Pro (x571) was upgraded to Oreo 8.1 via OTA. Device was purely stock, no rooting or custom recovery of any sort. After a few weeks from day of upgrade, device became sluggish and restarted randomly until it reached to a level were it would start and after reaching home screen, it will restart again (a boot-loop kind of thing). I factory resetted the device using stock recovery which was the starting of disaster. I ended up being stuck in "Setup Wizard" where it would go 2 steps forward then come back to "restore device or start a refresh".
Searches on Google revealed that this setup wizard problem is not device specific and only solution is to flash stock ROM. I was unable to find stock Oreo ROM but found Nougat hence using SP Flash Tool, I manage to flash it back correctly. Device finish setup smoothly and worked flawlessly until I realized I am unable to make/receive calls. I checked and re-inserted SIM, operator signals were shown correctly, rebooted many times, cleared cache, etc. but nothing worked until another set of search at Google shows that it could be because of IMEI hence I used *#06# only to find that IMEI was null (blank).
I tried to restore IMEI from the box using:
* MTK Engineering Mode tools > Connectivity > CDS as per various forums and blogs. Unfortunately, my device was did not show CDS options like many screenshots at Internet.
* After failing with MTK Engg. Mode tools, I resorted to MobileUncle Tool. Generated IMEI.bak with genuine IMEI numbers using a software file but as soon as I touched "Restore IMEI" in MobileUncle Tool, it showed error "No Support".
Only method left for trying is this one only because I don't have Windows PC/Laptop (I use Linux as daily driver). At work, I do have Windows but IT Security has disabled all USB ports so that's a difficult option.
My questions are
1. Is there any alternative for Linux users to restore IMEI? So far I am unable to find anything. Combo of Virtual Machine or Wine is not working.
2. Is it possible using ADB/Fastboot tools?
* In case answer is NO for 1 and 2, what is the success chances of MTK Droid Tools? Important to mention that I do not have any backup of first ROM I was using before upgrade, no backup of EFS or NVRAM partitions, etc.
My phone is still functioning perfectly well with all features except IMEI issue (hence no calls or sms) and this will require a big heart for me to use it as a paper weight or email assistant.
Thanks to everyone for the time in reading my TL; DR post.
No. The only legal way to fix the imei issue if flashing a full stock doesn't work is send it in and they will charge you for a new mother board.
Messing with imei is very illegal in some countries and as such banned here.
Thanks, advice is still under warranty so I will try to get it from seller (if they accept).
This is a bit of a longer story, but i'll try to make it brief.
I have a samsung galaxy note 3 (SM-N9005).
A few days ago, when I was deleting system bloatware and I must have also deleted some important parts of the system.
My homescreen stopped working and i couldn't see my phone when i connected it to my pc which is running win-10 (more on that later).
Unfortunately i didn't keep any backups, yes I was reckless.
Factory resetting with my default recovery mode didn't help at all.
After some time i managed to install twrp (team win project recovery) and flashed ressurection remix 5.8.5 (unofficial version from Lord_Eko) along with Magisk and the correct Gapps.
Everything is working fine except that I cant see my sim card (thus i can't call or text anyone) and I still can't see my phone when connecting it to my pc.
I wanted to try installing some firmware for my sim card or try flashing stock firmware before my custom rom but I can't, since I have to use bootloader/download mode for that.
I tried using Odin (v3.13 and v3.09) while in download mode, but it can't see my phone. Neither can Android debug bridge when using command "adb device" or "fastboot devices" (it just says list of attached devices and nothing).
Connecting my phone normally doesn't work either. My phone isnt even listed in device manager as an unknown device.
I even tried installing samsung usb drivers, but to no avail. My phone only gets charged from my pc.
I tried all sorts of things i don't even remember now, but none of them helped.
I read something about an IMEI being deleted and when i checked my IMEI through an app it was blank, so it seems to have been deleted.
My battery also keeps draining quite a lot, but that's probably because of how old it is.
I don't know anymore info i can give, so please, how do I get my simcard to work?
Thanks for any help and sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. <3
