I recently rooted my device with the CF-root .bat file listed on XDA and then I installed the Franco Updater app to flash the Franco Kernel
Before deciding to do this I was using the Antutu CPU master app and was happy with the 'powersave' governor. I was hoping if this tiny app had this feature, then the widely accepted Franco kernel would have the same too.
However I only see 2 Governors listed, Interactive and Performance. I was curious why there were only 2 governors listed, and why did Franco only include 2 in the Nexus 5 kernel.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey guys,
Searched the original page here, couldn't find an answer. So here's my question. Now that the US govt has done it and shut down websites, I was just wondering, would anyone happen to have a copy of the Tsugi ROM that's been undervolted?
If not, could someone point me to guides on how to undervolt and maybe even the ideal settings for overclocking using setcpu?
Thanks in advance!
You can get the Tsugi UV kernel on ROM Manager.

Cool. I'll look into it. And what software do I use to change the undervolt settings?

Cool. Phone arrives today afternoon/evening/whenever the FedEx guy decides to come around, off to flash the rom and undervolt the %%%% out of it.
Cool

i reuploaded the kernel here, i believe its the 1.5 gHz kernel and underclocked:

Questions from a noob. Is this different from the undervolted file? What do I do with each file? Substitute them for the installation guide on the front page of the tsugi rom guide?
the one that i linked to on 2shared is the overclocked undervolted file. ideally you should flash the ROM first through CWM, and then the kernel through CWM. try the undervolted file, if its stable, then keep it, if its not stable, try the one that is just overclocked and not undervolted.

Kinda new to the world of flashing. How do you distinguish between the rom and the kernel?
in the development thread for the G2x, the rom threads start with [ROM], that would be the easiest way.

Wait. So that file you gave me. Does it have the rom and kernel, or just one?
ETA: The link the dev provides here has a download link to a "smartinstaller." is that the ROM? And the oyasumi 0.1 UV is the kernel, right?
Gah. This is stuff is confusing but interesting to learn!

correct, the TSUGI rom has a smart installer that does everything for you. it simply installs the ROM. afterwards, its suggested that you get the oyasumi KERNEL.
ROM is most analogous to an operating system, and kernel allows the operating system to interact with the hardware. you need to install the two separately. ROM first, and then kernel.

How about creating a separate thread for that question instead of hijacking mine? Or better yet, search around. I've chosen to use Tsugi because of its reputation for stability and battery life.
Sorry I'm new to this obviously thanks for the help

How about asking this in the concerned thread itself, rather than posting it in a place where dtrail1 is unlikely to see?

No, not possible workout building kernel yourself and adding in the governor.

You will have to build module for it and load it.. Which governor are you looking for?

Hi, I am running slimbean 4.3.1 and the blackhawk kernel on my p5113. I have successfully oc'd the CPU (its in the settings so it was easy). However, I don't see where I can set the GPU to a certain frequency. I have done a lot of searching, but without results.
Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks!

brother you can only overclock cpu not gpu
only what you can do regarding gpu is that you can check force gpu rendering settings in developer options

I disagree with you partially, you can oc gpu too. You can do it by changing manually which i did last time months ago because i have been using TricksterMOD, but it seems like after 2.1.5(?) update to kernel you can't do it anymore with it, so i use older version of next kernel what op is using.
EDIT: Actually i solved the problems and now it works with latest version using TricksterMOD!
Btw im on Cm 10.2 as you can see.

I'm using the faux kernel right now but haven't been real happy with the battery life. Which one is better for this between the Franco and the Bricked. Or which one does everyone prefer over the other. Thanks for any info

Hi,
NO Best ROM/Kernel threads...
You will need to test by yourself to see what is the best for YOU and also read the user feedback in each respective kernel thread...
There is already this thread: Kernel discussions...

If you cant get good battery life with faux, you wont get it with any other. clean up your rom/ apps. freeze those you don't need.
having said that, this type of comparison are not allowed on xda. Why? I have my opinion, you may have another and so on.

It was asked and answered several times already. Those features are taken out from latest builds due to performance and stability issues.

There are performance issues? with bubba I never had that and it was solid as a rock....
There were in IceCode, read the thread for more info

I will look to adding some of this back in. Lots of other parts of the kernel have changed and things seem more stable in general. I also was never a fan of the implementation since it didn't work right consistently (on any kernel). It also meant modifying parts of the kernel that were easier for me to leave as stock if I wasn't going to be using the feature. It made trouble shooting easier knowing that I didn't have to think about that modified code if I got a reboot.
Working?
Im on Ligquidsmooth for Android 5.0 and on IceCode Kernel, how I can activate the features now like DoubleTap2Wake. Sorry, this is my first flashed Kernel

Latest version of IceCode does not have any of the screen wake add-ons (dt2w/s2w). There is currently no kernel for lollipop that has these features
So the short answer for your question is : you can't
For other kernel options you can install a kernel tuner app like TricksterMOD

One of the most used ones is FIOPS. That's a fair scheduler. BFQ is mostly used for streaming video/audio but has less points in benchmarks...ROW, CFQ or SIO are also used sometimes. I use FIOPS. You can Google for kernel i/o schedulers, you'll find differences and what is good or not about almost each one
