Hello,
I've got my exported file from HTC Sense 5 [ViperS 5.0.0 rom] messaging app with all sms messages and my question is: is it possible to restore that messages on other android phone?
Unfortunately I haven't got access to Sensation right now...
Every try with apps to restore/backup I've done already ends with failure.
HTC sense default msg app right?? Then Restoration will work only on sense Rom
I think it will work on all version of sense Rom
So is it possible to emulate Sense-based rom on PC and then try to backup it properly?

I'm using HTC HD2, changing rom from cm7 to nexus one based.
I use Titanium backup to backup the Pingchat! to restore the contact list and message history everytime before flashing the rom. But this time, no matter restoring Pingchat! 4.2, 4.2.1 or 4.2.2. The message history and contact list are gone.
Can anyone help me please?

i think the internet pass-thru is a bug. i used endymion before... but found out a few bugs and the connect to pc is very unstable so i decided to change to runnymede s. also install the htc kernal. hope this help
1. Recovery your stock rom;
2. Make a recovery of your sms (an sms recovery option in messages menu);
3. Meka a recovery of your contacts - backup in contacts menu (just send it to gmail);
4. The same story as in point 3 with callendar;
5. Check all in your gmail;
6. Or... install MyBacup Pro and do it automatic;
After endymion injstalation restore all your data;
Thanks for the reply guys!
I made sms backup using the app and exported contacts to sd card
made a clean install this time....even internet pass-through works now!!
Titanium Backup is actin weird though....anyways I'll try more custom roms now

I am using [rom][ics][ucld2] ●► embryo-2.1 ◄● 04/22/2012
My last rom(cannot remember the name) the ICS messaging app came pre-installed.
When I download and install it on my current rom it freezes my phone. I'm not sure if I have to make ICS messaging app the default or something? I am not even prompted to do so?
Any help would be appreciated
I did a search and was unable to find a solution to my current situation. I am moving from a TW rom to an AOSP rom and want to move my SMS/MMS messages over. I did a TiBU of the "Dialer Storage 4.1.1 -I53...LK3 (SMS/MMS/APN)" from the TW rom and tried to restore that to the AOSP rom with no luck. The messaging app FC's on the AOSP rom and I just can't seem to get TiBU to work for restoring my SMS/MMS messages. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure if it's the donate version or not, but TiBU gives you the option to save the message in xml format, which I think the format is more compatible. Not positive it's going to work, but it's an option.

You should have backed up the yellow pieces that say SMS/MMS and Call logs. Your best bet is to go back to the TW rom, back up the yellow pieces, flash the AOSP rom and then restore.

When I flash roms
When I flash different roms, I use an app called SMS Backup & Restore, because it writes an XML file to my sd card (I have to go to preferences and set the backup location to ExtStorage). I haven't had this fail on me yet, and I constantly switch between TW and AOSP roms.
When using titanium back, with the xml sms and call backup options, and restored from touch wiz to aosp, i noticed a problem where the call log would be stuck at the last restored call, and no new calls were being logged. I may have had a similar issue with the sms xml restore but cant remember. I eventually decided to just not restore either and start fresh. If i ever truly need those tw call logs and texts for some reason I have a tw nandroid from that time still.

I was and have continued to use SMS Backup+. As you probably know, the app is no longer being updated. It will still backup messages to GMail but the restore function stopped working with the release of Android 4.4. Is there an app out there that can restore those messages?
I'm using a Nexus 5 with Android 5.0 if that matters.
If there is no app that can do this, Could I do a clean install of 4.3, restore my messages then back them up using a more current backup utility, then reinstall 5.0? If so, which 4.3 build should I use on a Nexus 5? The developers page only goes back to 4.4 for the Nexus 5.
Found Solution.
Get App Ops. In SMS Backup, enable Write SMS/MMS. Restore works.
