Could someone please point me in the right direction for valid info regarding manually backing up SMS/MMS info. I am trying to determine if it is possible to manually back up my messages in effort to maintain them without extra system settings that may conflict with whatever ROM I happen to be running.
Look in the market for SMS Backup & Restore app
I use SMS Backup+ that available on Android market. This application backups to and restore from Google account. Very convenient way
Maybe someone knows which app does this:
Let's say I want an app that will automatically backup SMS of only the contacts I choose.
I'm always flashing new ROMs, restoring nandroid backups, etc. However, with my job I am constantly getting important text messages from my office. I wanna find an app that will allow me to select 3-4 particular contacts who's messages will always be automatically backed up...preferably by cloud. If not, that's not a deal breaker.
Please post the name of any SMS backup apps that you know should have this feature
Thanks!
Hello I have one more 6 Android 9. I have clumsily deleted a conversation in textra. How is it possible to restore messages? My phone is not rooted if I root is it possible or useless that I try this opération ?
Thanks
It might be too late for the conversation you deleted, but download something like SMS Backup & Restore from the Play Store and set it to do daily backups. That way, you can always restore anything you've lost other than what's been texted since the most recent backup. If you root, you can use Titanium Backup for this, too, but it's a little more awkward and you still won't be able to rescue what you've already lost.
You could try opening the OnePlus messaging app and see if the lost conversation is somehow still visible there.
Unless if you have a backup set then it's gone. Textra and all your other SMS apps use the same messaging database so there's no way to recover it without a backup.
Thanks

Actually, you can also back up data on your oneplus phone to your computer by using oneplus data manager software. Usually, data including contacts, text messages, call logs, photos, videos, music, ebooks, etc can be easily transferred to computer for backup. Maybe you can have a try. Hope this will be your help.
I also use OnePlus Switch for some of my backup needs...
And if you just want to backup the apk, SAI has a "backup" options that extracts the apks. Very convenient
Hello, I've had the oneplus 8T for 2.5 years now. For a week now I have rooted it again, after 2 years ago. So I did a backup until today with the oneplus app. And I manually uploaded it to the cloud.
So I'm looking for an app that can backup apps, data, SMS, call logs, contacts, settings and the layout of folders on the phone's desktop. And of course the application can upload the backup to the cloud. To be able to have the scheduling option.
I did some research on my own and discovered the Following, but I need your help.
Swift Backup:
Backup apps, data, call logs, contacts, sms.
Stores the backup in the storage and in the cloud.
I also discovered Neobackup, Titanium Backup and Backup rom. Can you write me what are the differences between them? Because I haven't understood...
I read somewhere that Neobackup is the best but it does not backup call logs, sms, contacts. And it doesn't upload to the cloud either.
Note, the comments I read about swift, it was 2022. So I want answers with the latest versions of these apps.
Swift Backup is the best overall
kaskanderTWRP/OrangeFox backups whole device partitions (like /system or /data) with everything inside them.
By restoring this backup you can revert your whole device (android version and your data) to the state on the time of backup.
Apps like swift, titanium, neo backup, backup your apps and their settings, also you can try to backup system apps settings to restore layout of folders (lancher app settings backup).
Titanium backup was once a gold standard of android backup apps, but as it is not being developed since 2019, it can't handle split apks and doesn't work very well with the latest android versions. So it can still be used, but not recommended.
Swift backup works well with the latest android versions, you can choose to backup your apps and data locally or on google drive or something similar. If you backup your apps in the cloud you can easily access those backups from another phone and restore them.
Backup files are encrypted too and app is proprietary one.
Neo-backup, as far as i understool does everything as Swift backup, and is open sourced.
Alternative to Titanium Backup?
Hey everyone, I've been using Titanium backup for a few weeks now but one thing irks me about it.. even though it successfully backs up my apps and I assume my data - when it comes to restoring the backup, it always re-installs the apps in a...
