Hi
I'm developing an online kitchen for HTC Desire.
The online kitchen (for now) will be 4 steps:
Step 1: Choosing the core rom.
This step will let you choose the core rom (e.g. : DeFrost, The Original Rom from HTC, ...etc)
Step 2: Choosing the programs and services and where to install them:
This step will let you choose prepacked programs and will ask if you want to put the programs in "data\app" or "system\app" and will let you enable some services (like A2SD).
Step 3: Add programs
This step will let you add programs from your computer and upload them into your rom.
Step 4: Cooking the rom
This online kitchen will be free for everybody.
SPECIAL THANKS: l1nuxfre4k
for providing me a hosting to upload this online kitchen
The Online Kitchen will be available after 1 - 2 weeks
Now I want from you to tell me the best apps to add them in the Online Kitchen. And give me the link of the app.
(Only free apps. NOT PAID APPS)
Sounds promising I'll sleep on it and offer my suggestions in the morrow x
great idea buddy... bring it on ASAP.... we are all waiting for this....
Nice one! This sounds great, I look forward to seeing what it's like
This is good news to the community but you might want to try @dsixda kitchen, very easy to use.
Sent from my Desire using Tapatalk

Thank you. It's much appreciated.
Excellent idea:
- Handcent
- Advanced task killer
- Slideit keyboard
- back up tool
- Astro file explorer
- Android Agenda Widget
- Fancy widget
- Flashlight app
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Must have apps:
-ROM Manager
-Astro File Manager
-APN Backup & Restore (not everyone can get internet & mms setup automatically)
-Market Enabler (not everyone can access paid apps in the market)
-Google Maps [brut] (for users outside US)
- FM radio
you should include 'Explorer' (i'd say root explorer but it's not free) so we can use bluetooth!!!
Adw.Launcher for starters more when I have thought about it
What about including a choice of themes too?
Sent from my Desire using XDA App
Titanium Backup
Estrongs File Manager
what about Dailer one, Dolphinbrowser, LED Desire, Apps Organizer
ROM Manager i dont use
ASTRO i dont use
LauncherPRO i dont use
That are not must haves =P
Must Have: Set CPU(Please dont include in ROMS)
How about the option to install apps into system/app or data/app.
Thanks everyone for the apps.
Please write FREE APPS only.
You can upload your PAID APPS to your rom in Step 3.

Good suggestion.
I will add this option to the online kitchen.
Dialer One
Launcher Pro
Flash Player
Adobe Reader
Quick System Info
ROM Manager
Spare Parts
Twitter
HTC IME mod by jonasl
OI File Manager (i like it because it's not bloated like others, only ~190kb installed)
Option to remove Navigation, Google Voice, Voice Dialer, Voice Search (these are only available for some countries and languages so for some of us they are useless)
Well anyone can say anothers choices is not a must have, I don't use set CPU so it obviously isn't a must have

NOTE: If you r going to recommend some apps in comments plz provide its LINK & its PRO / CONE ... as i did. bcZ it is very helpfull to me & also other users
Some users demand to add alternative apps but this thread is for Best & Must try Apps ... not for Compression. So i'm not going to put lots of alternative apps bcz all have their own choice so list will too long ... {HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND}
NOTE: If you recommend any app it should be better than provided app than only i'll put it on list. ( Again plz provide LINK & PRO/CONE of your recommend apps over listed apps)
This is my first (useful) thread so it may have some mistake ... if u notice any plz inform i'll glad to correct it

1 Request- Please arrange your apps in alphabetical order of sections like BROWSERS, PLAYERS, etc. for the ease of users and to avoid redudancy of information/apps. As it is jumbled manner some apps may go unnoticed and people would recommend them again causing trouble to you in updating the OP.
My recommendations=>
1)For File Explorer

This thread must be in Themes & Apps Section i guess.
Some Apps that I recommend are:
1)NoLED- It displays notifications(missed calls, messages, any other app notifications, etc.) on your screen when it is locked. This is useful for devices without notification LEDs and works best on AMOLED screens(battery drain is low if only some pixels are activated).
2)Tasker- with this, you can fully automate your phone.you can set it to do many things like change to silent, flight etc based on conditions you choose
3)widgetsoid- this app lets you create custom widgets and shortcuts... The swipe feature is awesome(you touch any preset corner of your screen and it opens a shortcut menu- it works anytime the screen is on)
I'll provide more apps later as i remember them

My Personal Favorites-
1.Antivirus- Avast antivirus.Tons of features,in my opinion,the best antivirus.
2.Backup - Titanium Backup Pro (ROOT) No explanation reqd.
3.Battery Stats - BBS plus Wakelock Detector. (ROOT)
4.Browser : Dolphin Browser,Opera Mini
5.CPU Control - SetCPU
6.Dialer: ExDialer.No lags at all.
7.File Explorer - ES file explorer/Solid Explorer
8.Launcher - Apex Launcher+ LMT Launcher(ROOT)
LMT launcher is simply awesome.Pie Control ,Gesture Control, tons of features. Not a memory hogger or battery drainer.Works well alongside apex.
9.Music Player : Poweramp/Real player
10.Transfer : WebSharing File Media Sync.Wireless transfer of files to and from your device and pc.

anycut link is not valid (as par play store )
ad-free some times block download servers also so not preferable
thnx for your list but i can't put them all. if any one wants to try them they can from your comment directly as you provided links
btw how you manage all apps with links?? i mean you used any app or something?
There was an apps list thread on the HTC hero forum way back which I found quite useful. If you use any apps other than the standard one list them with a brief synopsis of what they do.
E.g.
Utorrent - torrent downloads straight to phone
Mx player - media player
Snapchat - instant disposable photo sharing
Root explorer - my fave file explorer
Better battery stats - find out what's draining battery
Greenify - hibernate apps, helps speed and battery
Candy crush saga - great puzzle game
Bike race - race against friends (current fave)
Fast and furious - drag race style
Tetris - a classic throw back
Wallbase - the best in wallpaper selections

I've got over 100 apps on my phone but I'll just go through and name my favorites.
Superbeam - Use WiFi direct to send files. Far better than android beam.
ESPN ScoreCenter - Simply the best app for sports notifications.
Weather Channel App - Nice interface that gives you weather for your location or others.
GSam Battery Monitor - Great app for checking what's using your battery and displaying numbers.
Snapchat - It's like MMS... but more fun!
Reddit News - My reddit client of choice.
Nandroid Manager - An elegant way to extract data from nandroid backups.
Titanium Backup - You should know what this is by now.
Notification Lockscreen - Receive notifications on the lockscreen for android 4.2. I prefer it to DashClock.
Nova Launcher - My favorite laucnher, because of it's pure quickness.
Flipboard - A pretty way to get news.
xda premium - Support xda and browse the forums!
Baseball Superstars 2013 - Addicting baseball game.
Battle Cats - A game... hard to explain if you haven't played it.
Greenify - Save battery and free up RAM by hibernating apps.
Google Play Music - Music by Google.
Flixster - Great way to see local movies and a quick glance at their reviews.
AdAway - ADS BEGONE!
Others: Gmail, YouTube, Facebook, Dropbox, Google Maps, Hangouts, Netflix, Translate, G+, and more.
AccuWeather - my choice for weather app
AirDroid - wirelessly connect to your computer
Podkicker - simple but reliable podcast catcher
Rotowire Fantasy News - best source for quick fantasy player news updates

X-plore file manager
Zedge - ringtones and wallpapers
Swiftkey 4 - best keyboard ever

My Go To Apps
These are my go-to apps...
Accuweather (Go to Weather, especially on AOSP roms)
Amazon Kindle (Kindle apps rock though I wish they had more fonts available on Android)
Bacon Reader (Reddit client)
BetterBatteryStats (GSam for Sense, I use BBS to get in-depth info for testing AOSP/AOKP ROMS)
BuildProp Editor (Very useful)
Candy Crush Saga
DashClock (Notification lockscreen sounds awfully tempting though @RollTribe!)
FalconPro (Unfortunately it's days are numbered but I'm going to hang with Falcon for as long as possible.)
feedly (Google Reader replacement)
Firefox (I use Firefox at work, the bookmark sync works and seems more stable than Chrome. I dunno, I dig it.)
Glowfly (Nice MMS notification for lockscreens and popups)
Google Play Music (Just dumped Spotify in favor of All Access)
Nandroid Manager Pro (No more Tibu, this is what you need to restore apps)
No-Frills / Kernel Tuner (No-frills most of the time but KT gives some extra dual core controls)
Nova Launcher PRIME (The best launcher, period)
Pocket (Go-to app for keeping up with articles I can't finish atm)
RunKeeper (Gotta get out and break a sweat, might as well track it #NerdAlert)
Snapseed (Forget Instagram, this is my choice for editing pics)
Swiftkey Flow (So smooth)
Tapatalk (bought XDA premium but the lack of a search feature is a deal breaker...if they added search within a thread let me know!)
Here's what it looks like..
Hex editor: lifesaver for edting whatever I like.
Lucky patcher: signing apks without internet permission and any other permission conceivable. Along with many other features. Like creating a modded apk too your own liking. Taking out little too all verification too google licenses as well.

Here are some tips to increase the battery life of our galaxy core
Requirements-
1.Rooted galaxy core
2.Link2SD(download from google play)
Steps-
1.I noticed that the display used the most % of battery. Then I found out it was because of Touchwiz launcher.
so first thing you should is use a different launcher, eg. HOLO, Nova, Apex
After installing the launcher open link2sd and freeze TouchWiz Home(optional)
2.there are some apps which we don't use and which consume a lot of juice, so use link2sd n freeze them
here's the list of apps-
1.Clock(digital)
2.Clock(funky)
3.Clock(modern)
4.Dual clock(analogue)
5.Dual clock(digital)
6.Favourite Apps
7.Game Hub
8.Music Player(optional)(the default music player uses a lot of battery, if you use other music players the freeze this, otherwise leave it)
9.PageBuddyNotiSvc
10.Samsung Apps
11.Simple Alarm Clock
12.Yahoo! Finance
13.Yahoo! News
Do all these n see if you notice the difference..
I had already applied nova launcer ... but didn't new how to remove touchwiz launcher .... anyways thanks a lot !!

Well It does... The apps I listed use 2-3mb ram each, so if you freeze them more ram will be available which will make your phone faster.
if you want performance over style then install SickSky launcher(free on play store).

yeah i used it and if i use super task killer it will give 400-450 instead of 300-340 ;o HUGE differents!
I now use apex launcher with a galaxy s4 theme looks almost 100% like Real touchwiz. but the one thing that bothers me is that is no labels under the dock icons can i add labels to dock icons on apex ?
GOOD GUIDE BTW!!!
To freeze system apps you neither need root nor any app like Link2sd.All non essential apps can be disabled from application manager itself.Just go to settings/application manager/all and click the app you want to disable and then simply click on disable. To enable just click on enable to enable it again.
wow it's really works, now i have 500mb ram free space . thanks a lot:laugh::good:
im get a better battery life more, thanks for this thread
or just uninstall those bloatwares if your phone's rooted.
Hey thanks, i want to reshare with all my friend
#just_a_note
please don't remove any system app .. this might cause system instability ..just greenify apps that are not in use .. use 2 background processes as maximum thanks
there are many sys apps which are BLOATWARES , you can safely remove them(only non important ones)
