[Q] samsung glide sgh i927 rooted but cant get it to work overseas

Hello there, first of all thanks for all your hard work, you guys ROCK,i did follow the insructions on how to root the ATT samsung galaxy SGH i927,it worked fine(got superuser and busybox),but i still cant get it to work on a different network here overseas,it keeps asking me for the unlock network code, can you please help??
rooting has nothing to do with "sim unlocking" a phone so it can be used to work on another carrier....some rooting methods have a step where you can unlock the phone but it would have to depend on the phone. You can either purchase a code online from ebay, third party websites or see if there is a free method on xda.
Thanks for your reply, actually i did root the samsung galaxy captivate (i897),and it is working fine with the local carrier(here overseas),so why wouldnt the i927 work as well???do you have any links to free sim unock for the SGH i927 please??
the unlocking method for the captivate isnt the same as the glide I believe so I don;t think there is a free method to unlock it, not as of yet anyways.
Is there a free unlock code for the I927 could really use thanks

T-Mobile Galaxy SIII LTE Edition SGH-T999L Network Locked !

Hello guys !
I have this phone T-Mobile Galaxy SIII LTE Edition SGH-T999L.
My phone is Network Locked. I did couple of things to it..like tried
the free unlocking method...by *#197328640# method...going to the ServiceMode..and all that...but no chance
Also tried flashing the T999 Modem on my T999L....but then i was getting No Connectivity+IMEI "unknown"+ "ServiceMode was Blank".
I was adviced not to flash the T999 Rom on T999L as it will brick my phone. So i sticked to the Advice and didnt flashed it.
But i need to unlock it as soon as possible...So i was searching for it...and i have seen couple of ways to unlock...like...
there are some sites who provide unlock codes or unlock softwares like this one :
http://www.fastgsm.com/en/samsung/t9...code/unlocking
Do u think i can use it to unlock my phone..by paying...?
Or someone else knows a good place to purchase the code from ?
Thanks in Advance :good: .
Special Thanks to :

No, just flashing another (stock) firmware won't SIM unlock your device.
Best is to ask in the [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question. thread.
Here is a thread about SIM unlocking your device: Sim card unlock Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 ... but this needs to downgrade the firmware version.
Maybe this tool works in your case: [SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 UNIFIED TOOLKIT V8.0] Drivers, Backup, Root, Recovery + MORE [GSM] ... but SIM unlock is not officially supported AFAIK.
EDIT: Found this "trick" in another device's forum, but some users reported that it also worked on your device: Free UNLOCK N7105.
Maybe worth a try?!
Alternatively you can contact the carrier and ask for a SIM unlock code.
Good luck !

It should be sim unlocked out of the box. Have you stuck a sim in the phone and tried to add Telus APNs?
The only root exploit available for the VRUDNE1 4.4.2 OTA is to use Towelroot. There is no bootloader unlock available for this OTA which means there is no chance for AOSP nor downgrading the firmware to anything prior to 4.4.2. Safestrap is available but you would only be able to dual boot another VRUDNE1 based rom, nothing else.

Of course it didn't, the sim card would belong to the previous owners phone number etc. You need a sim from your carrier with your info, phone number etc. See my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58582227
