i need this file System/bin/debuggerd from the 4.4.1, i tried using the krt16m stock image, used this to extract it and get the debuggerd file, used es file explorer and even total commander to replace it, change its permissions to chmod 755 and root shell, but this ota just doesn't install, in twrp still getting error debuggerd file problem, i use stick mount and i dont know why but i deleted the debuggerd.backup file:crying::crying::crying:
Update: I used this which I extracted from 4.4.2 odexed rom from here, I can confirm it is working, just check the sha1sum which should be 1A008709F0945E8EACA2166D143622EB8D94C3D0
Also i used adb commands to push the file from here
Hi,
If that helps: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eu2x01fkr11x9rh/debuggerd.
Don't forget to set the correct permissions, like this:

Thank you, it works! Although I had the debuggerd.backup file, renamed it to debuggerd and still failed. But with your file, I upgrade to 4.4.2 successfully. BTW, I use Root Explorer to change the right.

I searched and got on IRC and can't get a fix for this. WHen i try to use the Fix permissions option in ROM Manager Premium i get the following error.
"error occurred while attempting to run privelaged commands"
I checked superuser and ROM Manager is in there so i selected "forget" then rebooted and tried "fix permissions" again. I got the promp to allow SU and then the error.
Any idea how i can fix this? Is this a bug or a isolated problem?
Not sure if it is related or not but I had to same problem until I bought the full version off of the market.
Maybe it's part of the extended functionality?
As I noted I have "Rom Manager Premium" I don't think it's related anyway.
Just found the answer to this (as I too was having this problem). See the link below:
http://androidforums.com/899973-post26.html
It has to do with busybox not installed in the correct place.
One more thing: Make sure that busbox is set to "755" so that it can execute.
Thanks

did you mount the system partition prior to trying this?
I'm also having an issue moving the file using root explorer. Any other ideas?

Yeah, same here. My problem is that I've never used Root Explorer before. At the top it says mounted as r/w (in the /system/bin directory) , but it won't copy the file using the Root Explorer program. When I click [Paste] it doesn't give me an error, but when I go and check the directory, the file is not there. I even tried refresh. Any ideas?
UPDATE: I have not solved the problem yet, but I did notice that the /system/bin directory that I am trying to copy to says "0K bytes available," which is probably why it won't copy. So I guess my (no copy) problem is due to my lack of understanding of the file structure of the DI.
UPDATE: I finally got it working. Here is what I did.
1. Boot phone into recovery
2. Push busybox from /sdk/tools folder to sdcard
Code:
adb push busybox /sdcard/busybox
adb shell
3. Installed busybox to /system/xbin
Code:
$ su
#export PATH=$PATH:/system/bin
#cd /system/xbin
# cat /sdcard/busybox > busybox
# chmod 06755 busybox
# busybox --install -s /system/xbin
# rm /sdcard/busybox
# exit
$ exit
4. Booted up phone, and ROM manager fixed permissions as per request.
Hope that helps.
Thanks. I appreciate your feedback. But it looks like I wasted my money again on a useless program like "Root Explorer." I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do all of that command line crap anymore after having rooted.
Does anyone know if there is a file manager out there that will push/pull files via cut/paste rather than using a seperate computer with a command line interface?
I don't think that there is going to be a program like that until we've got full NAND unlock.

Is someone working on that? I believe the facts are, that the Unrevoked team knows how to do it...but they won't give us the means to do it. Probably because they think we'll shoot ourselves in the foot...and blame them...and they're probably right!
I can not do the cat command it tels me Cant create busybox, read only file system.
Any ideas????????????????
when i was modding widget locker i was using linda file manager free to cut and paste out of the system folder im gonna try it right now to fix this problem ill let u know if it works
okay so I have tried installing clockwork too many times to count and it flat out will not install. i have gotten a series of errors, but have just today been able to keep a consistent error. I downloaded one click clockworkmod 2.5.1.0. plugged in my device, extracted to my desktop and ran both bat files. This is a copy of the cmd prompt window:
remove stock recovery patcher
mount: operation not permitted
rm failed for /system/etc/install-recovery.sh, Read-only file system
rm failed for /system-recovery-from-boot.p, Read-only file system
copy kernel and flasher
2043 KB/s <313888 bytes in 0.150s>
failed to copy 'zImage' to '/sdcard/zImage': Permission denied
flashing kernel
RedBend Update Agent 6,1,14,1
and then it goes on through there... bottom line, it looks like i don't have permissions for the install. and i have already tried remounting rw through adb shell, it comes back and say remounting and then thats it. and ideas? i can give the reset of the scripting in cmd prompt if needed. Thanks in advance.

I have rooted - flashed KB5 Rom - All bloatware removed ....
Now, i want to add a few bloatware apks back on ... i can't
adb commands .. push " " -- "failed via Android Commander
also, i have to keep using Superoneclick to gain root when using android commander ..
so, do anyone have any ideas how to push or why i am unable to push .apks back into /system/app/
" failed ...... read-only file "
Without knowing all your steps, I'd guess that /system is still mounted read-only

Hello,
I have a Nexus S which I am trying to root and flash CWM recovery on. I've followed "The Unlockr's Guide" which was a tremendous help as well as kursk's "Step by Step ROOT Nexus S via ClockworkMod Recovery image (i9023 and i9020A)".
I am having issues however, renaming / removing the "install-recovery.sh" script. I've tried to rename it using Android Mate. I get the error message "failed to rename to install-recovery-no.sh".
I've also tried to use ADB Shell by trying:
"mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system" which go the following error:
mount: operation not permitted
so I couldn't perform the rename using the mv command.
I really don't know what else to try... Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Just start from begin again and use this guide. I have also i9020a and I was done in 15 minutes, newer did it before with Nexus S. good lack
Wrong thread sir!!!
However, back on subjkect,
type adb shell
cd to /
the cd to system/etc
from there, # mv install-recovery.sh install-recovery.sh.bak
if you are still having problems, i have a zip file removing this recovery-install.sh script. forgot who was the author though.( just saying so that you know merit goes to someone else) . just fflash from recovery.

I just renamed it using root explorer. Worked fine for me
Thanks deeren,
That worked. It removed the recovery-install.sh script altogether. One question, if I ever want to go back to the stock recovery, is there a script I can use to bring it back?

If you are on stock rom, then you can just reflash any stock rom (without wiping , so that you do not loose your data) and it will put back the script back.
you could also pull the script from any stock rom and push it back to your phone using adb.
move along, empty post, nothing to see here
I think..just flash any Stock ROM..
and your Stock Recovery will be back...

Can You tell me how to use that script ., I mean I am a noob . Can you tell me what exactly to do with that file. Coz I have been trying to remove that .sh file for 6 hours now. No matter what i do ., whenever i run the android recovery it creates a new file again and shows that triangle with exclamation screen ., :'(
Hi all
I am trying to install a custon recovery program, which requires me to paste a file from the SD card to the /system/bin/ folder.
Have nearly managed it BUT when the new file is looked at it is 0.0 size rather than the original 25.5KB?
When i then try and use the flash_image file it doesn't work presumably as it is 0.0 size?!?
Am i missing something?
Thanks
i think there's a problem with the file. you can try to install a custom rom because all of them have clockwork mod recovery
