I have an unlocked Nexus 5 with T-Mobile service. Is there a way to get calls and text over wifi using native android OS rather than 3rd party apps? I noticed the availability of SIP internet calling. I wasn't sure if SIP worked with T-Mobile texting?

It's #G video call over network without data
Hi, I think you are mistaken with the Skype/Tango/G talk or whatsoever that uses data and require the other party to have these installed.
I think what the origin of this thread was asking for is a 3G video call over the network without the need to have data plan. I used to call using 3G video using my old win mobile 6 phone to my wife's Nokia Symbian phone or my Dad Sony Ericsson phone without data line but now I'm using the Galaxy Nexus, I don't have that option. If I use the Nokia phone to call 3G video, it will say number is busy.
I think we just need the dialer to support video call. Not internet video call.
ya i am also agree in india skype tango are not so popular but 3g sim vedio call is so popular because it is cheap here so google plz provide vedio call option like galaxy s2 ands galaxy s is having

Just wondering if the new Asus TF700KL 3G version / 4G LTE version, that was just released in Germany on Vodafone, will have the phone app and the ability to make and receive regular GSM phone calls, like the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Anybody knows the answer ?

Why pay extra for LTE, just use the groveip app to make phone calls with wifi and tethering through your phone when you out side in the park. No aditional cost!

Edit : I accidentally put this in wrong thread. Can someone help me move?

Don't confuse VoLTE with Verizon's HD Voice. HD Voice requires VoLTE and requires support from both the caller and the recipient. You can still place/receive standard calls over VoLTE.
To check if your VoLTE is working or not, just try to place or receive a phone call from your cell phone. If the LTE icon in the status bar disappears while on the call, you're using the standard cellular network. If the LTE icon stays, then you're using VoLTE.
