You can flash the modded email apk's in the Apps/Themes section that bypasses the security to note force a pin code at all.

You are probably aware of this but if you use a third party email client, such as Touchdown, instead of the stock client you are not forced to lock your Xoom as Touchdown uses a password to open the application.

install mutliple email applications

Hi,
Is there any issue about installing different email applications, so that each handle separately the various email accounts ?
To be more specific, I'd like to install a specific email application to handle a Exchange email account -application like Libre Email, which bypasses the pin lock security enforcement . While I would keep standard email application from android ICS to handle my other email accounts. And of course, target is to avoid that my Infinity gets "pin locked" due to the Exchange account.. Or is there a risk that the standard ICS email client detects another email app has an exchange account and would thus enforce the pin lock ?
NB: if any one knows an app which would restrict the pin lock to only when opening the Exchange email account, without forcing me to enter a pin every time I want to access my tablet, I'd be glad..

You can lock specific applications with Asus app that comes preinstalled with Infinity tablet..i don't know what the name of the app is as i don't have a tablet with me right now, but it is there. App locker or something. Does pretty much what you would like...
But if I lock the usual email app, will I be able to still use it ? I mean that my plan would be to used a specific email app for my exchange account but still use the standard email app for my usual accounts.
I think that is true.
Every app has its own settings, don't see a problem here.
I think you can safely use E-mail app that comes with android for one type of account and TouchDown for exchange account..
At least i think that's a way it works. Both have different settings and accounts of course.
Thanks for the clarification.
I found this topics http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452 in the samsung threads. Could the patch work on my TF700T (9.4.5.22) ? Or are email.apk different on the various devices ?
Yeah you can. That is a simple android feature they have had since day one.

[Q] Fingerprint scanner and exchange active sync

Does anybody know if by setting up an exchange activesync account, the fingerprint scanner can still be used or android reverts to PIN/PASSWORD as is the case now with face unlock & pattern?
I know that Android by default does the latter, but there is a chance Samsung has circumvented it and implemented in a way that Apple does with touch ID-pissing off IT people who would love to be able to disable it.

On current Samsung phones with fingerprint scanner, fingerprint can be used with exchange active sync. But I think your company it administrator could set the security policy to disallow it.

Great, thanks. I just remembered I have kept the MS outlook version that requires no PIn and in case they do set a restricted policy I will use that or the hacked AOSP email client version of it works, then use the scanner to unlock/lock
Can someone who has access to an S6 confirm whether the fingerprint reader is still grayed out like the current Samsung phones? It seems like it is more of a Microsoft issue than a Samsung issue.
Has anyone had a chance to test the fingerprint scanner with a locked down exchange account?
I expect it to behave the same way as note 4. Once exchange policy is enforced the option gets greyed out and cannot be used, have to use a password. I have kept the modded AOSP version of the email app( will have to see if it works on TouchWiz) or use the initial versions of outlook app that do not require a Pin/pass then activate the fingerprint option as security

Doesn't get greyed out for me. I think it depends on your company IT policy.

Yes it works for me. It didn't work with S5 but it works now with s6 :good:.
I have a Note Edge (Kit Kat) and it is greyed out for me.
Is there anything I can do to allow the fingerprint security?
Will upgrading to Lollipop make a difference?
I can confirm that S6 works just fine with fingerprint scanner and Exchange policy enabled. What a relief I think it is more related to revamped version of the E-mail client doing the hack in similar way as iPhones do.

So does that mean it should work with the note edge?

I suggest to check if you have Android 5.0.2 and Email client version 1.0.0.388356 (5.0.2) or above. If it is the case I think you can assume it will work.

How can I check email client version number?

You can do it in the App Manager, look for the E-mail app and once you click on it you will see its version number.

Unfortunately it's 4.42 [emoji20]
I have exchange and fingerprint working perfectly together. Using official MS Outlook app.

Fingerprint and Exchange email

can anybody with a corporate email account confirm if the fingerprint can be use in the same manner as in the iPhone? or it gets grayed out and you have to use a password instead?
Thanks.
I would like to know the same!

Can confirm this works! It was my biggest pain point on my Nexus 5. It works with Nine, Outlook Preview, Gmail Exchange, Samsung email, and a few others I'm forgetting about.

Yep, currently working with Nine and Samsung Email (I manage the MDM at my work and had to test these.)
Yes it works for me. It didn't work with S5 but it works now with s6 :good:.
Can confirm as well. Do not have to use a PIN anymore/can use fingerprint.
does this work with the default samsung email application that comes stock on the s6 ?
went to the store and tried myself, it does indeed let you use the fingerprint for Exchange email using the stock app.
Hola
OK, I am confused. How did you folks get the fingerprint method to work instead of typing a PIN in Nine email client.
I see no configuration in either Nine client or S6 security settings that allows me to switch from PIN to fingerprint.
I googled and didn't find much.
"So what you want me to do 'bout that?"

how to bypass frp I deleted my old gmail account

how to bypass frp I deleted my old gmail account
maybe Google could reinstate your old account, otherwise you are in trouble
Sent from my SM-G930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
How did you manage to delete it if the account was signed in to the device. My understanding is "Logging out of the gmail account disables FRP."
Can someone confirm this please

If done on the phone then yes it disables FRP, so I assume OP deleted his account on a different device such as a PC, but even if that was the case, it would automatically sign out on the phone too as there was no account to sync with any longer
Sounds a bit fishy, but don't have a solution other than the FRP bypasses on YT anyway
I would assume that google would be able to reinstate his account by confirming that it is the right person (call on mobile number, send an email to his recovery email etc).
I have seen some on YouTube but have not confirmed any of them as my current phone is my daily driver so can't afford to mess it up.
