I'm trying to do a full backup of an N5 but I can't find the nandroid backups anywhere. I can see them from Clockworkmod (though it's called '1970-01-30.16.14.53' for some reason) but I've used es file explorer to look in /SDCARD/ClockWorkMod/ and the folder is empty not even a backup folder. I've tried doing a system search for the '1970-01-30.16.14.53' I mentioned it's named at as in CWM but no luck.
I want the file so I can upload it to my dropbox along with other backups. I've got it set up as I want it with CM11-m1 and I want a backup of it now on the cloud. How do I find where the backup is saved?
Cwm hasn't bothered updating source code to take account of the fact that /sdcard is now /data/media/0 instead of /data/media on FUSE devices...
So go to /data/media to find your backups

Since Rom Manager doesn't play nicely with G Tab, how does one manage (especially delete old) backups?
Any android file manager will allow you to delete the folder where the backup is stored. They are stored on your SD Card under "clockworkmod" I believe.

backups for RM are in the Clockworkmod/Backup folder. You can delete old backups via a file explorer app like Estrongs.
As for making backups or restoring.. its recommended you do that manually via recovery
Backup and Restore/Backup (or Restore)
It sucks but until RM decides to support this device better this is the safest way without borking your device.
Thanks of both of you fine gents, realized this probably belonged in the Q&A folder so mods should feel free to move or delete (as I am sure they already do).
Hi All,
I'm trying to do a full backup of an N5 but I can't find the nandroid backups anywhere. I can see them from Clockworkmod (though it's called '1970-03-07.17.53.47' for some reason) but I've used xplorer and ES File Explorer to look in /SDCARD/ClockWorkMod/ and the folder is empty not even a backup folder. I want the file so I can download it to my pc along with other backups and make further backups as i am on a custom rom (omnirom) now.. How do I find where the backup is saved? I need to move it to my pc and delete it to make further backups. Also, Can i delete it from that location and can i save it in the regular clockworkmod backup folder location for further backups? I am losing about 4.17 gb data for that backup and want a simple backup without all the apps and data that wouldnt be so large.
Thanks in advance.
click the link in my signature and look at section 5.4 - the answer is in there if you're using basic CWM
I am having an issue where I cannot delete nandroid backups. If I use a file manager to look in the twrp folder it looks like the screenshot below. The backups show in twrp recovery mode but impossible to delete. If I delete the twrp folder it just comes right back. What can I do?
Delete it from /data/media/0

Thanks they did show in /data/media/0 and I did your fix 1) and now my "sdcard" is acting normal!
Flashed a ROM and the ROM moved the all files in the root of my storage to a folder within a series of subfolders.
This is bad because my TWRP folder containing my backups was in the root of my storage.
But of course things can't just work how you'd expect, so my computer and phone refuse to copy the TWRP folder back to where it belongs.
My computer refuses to copy the files "data.ext4.win000"
There seems to be nothing I can do about this. My phone wont copy it and my computer won't either.
However, I am wondering if there is a way to make TWRP restore from a backup that is not where it belongs.
Whenever I go to restore, it doesn't give me an option to search elsewhere for my backups. Yet for some reason I am allowed to install a .zip from wherever I want.
Is there some sort of terminal command I can do within TWRP to make this work? Thank you.
This might be the wrong forum to post this in but since I own a Nexus 5, I feel that this is the most appropriate place to post this.
I've used TWRP for awhile now and have never understood one very important feature: Being able to delete a backup?
For whatever reason, I cannot access the backups in my storage via Windows File Explorer. I see a BACKUP file but no way to actually access the backups. I've tried using ADB to do a file listing inside the SD card, I've tried using a Root Explorer for Android but all with no avail. What gives? Am I doing something wrong? Are the backups located elsewhere? Shouldn't there be a feature in TWRP that allows you to manage the backups?
Anyway, I post this because my god forsaken SD card is now full and I can't download anything. Let me know.
Cheers,
Chris
Reboot into recovery. Go to restore backups tab. Tap on a backup you'd like to delete. There should now be a small button near the bottom of the screen that says "Delete backup", or something similar.
It took me a while to figure that out too!
The backups should show up in /sdcard/TWRP/backups in both a file.explorer or windows. If not, then you're probably on Lollipop ROMs and have a problem.with your /sdcard. Search "sdcard problems" in general to find my thread
