If you have stumbled here looking for Kitkat for SGAP. You should go to http://cur.lv/74nzh or http://cur.lv/74nzp
I have seen development on Android 4.2.2 on SGAP by 3 developers and Android 4.3 by 1 developer.
I have also heard that the hardware requirements for Android 4.4 Kitkat and CyanogenMod 11 is not much and that our device will run it smoothly.
I think that we should concentrate on building Kitkat rather than Jellybean for our device. Please anyone who is interested please start this project as a team.

Guys please attract the attention of people and (developers) who are willing to help in the development of KiKat.

well, let me ask you something
as jelly bean has a lot of unsolved bugs, you think kit kat will work better?
our devs are still working on solving these bugs and its not very easy, so if we concentrate on building kit kat we will have this bugs+ many new ones
and a 2nd argument is that i think all the devs here ported our cm from TheWhisp's sources, isn't it?
and until the whisp's doesn't do that we cant expect nothing
and believe me, its not so easy to port from scratch as the whisp does, you have to be very skilled for that.
i remember the whisp saying he will not port kit kat for jena, but im not sure
so if its true, we will stay on jb and wait the best
yes,it`s not an easy thing.we need more skilled devs
I think it is easy.
I am not really a developer but I have seen a lot (more than 15 times) that developers or sites have written or said that porting CyanogenMod KitKat to a device is easier than even porting some other rom.
What thewhisp does is not just porting. He builds the source, writes code, mind you! Porting or compiling the source is a lot easier. Anyone with a bit of common sense, the proper resources and willingness to spend some time can compile a ROM from his sources or port from his Jena ROMs. Unless he or someone else builds kitkat from source, we won't be able to have kitkat for our device.
4.4
can´t anyone say if he is creating a rom 4.4 to our device

I think sometimes samsung itself will release a 4.4 update, as our phone is compatible. Also Ace2 and Ace3 Gets 4.4 update. So Sometimes we may get it.

lol ...don't expect that ...we were fooled by jellybean update ...
I think whisp will not work on 4.4 for our device..reason he is not showin much interest in ace plus because he doesn't have it I guess..he is not active in his development thread ...may be due lot of spams but he shud get active atleast every odd day...and also third reason would be he has still not releases his work on 4.3 so xpectin 4.4 is ............
hope he cracks everything and release his work...

Hey everyone, I tried to port this ROM from the i9000 (Galaxy S). It's called the Smoothie ROM. I tried my best to make this ROM. The Base is the Zhao Edges Stock ROM. I just need somebody to continue development for this ROM as I have a lack of knowledge. I've uploaded it to Google Drive
The Ported ROM, or the source ROM is a CM9 Based ROM. You can find it here
In which stage is the development now.Till where did you port it?

Hey I don't think nybody will help you in porting the rom..Its just a stock like ics rom made for gs.Nobody will have any benefit porting it to a89 ninja..PLEASE NOTE THIS:The best ROM available for a89 ninja is the stock rom itself.

What is the need to port that ROM.It is not even good as the stock ics.We all know that GS does not have ics. Therefore this rom will have many bugs. Also this is a rom for GS.So porting this ROM will almost be impossible..
Meantime if you can spare some time please check out the new rom for a89 that I am releasing this april 26.You can find it in the a89 ninja development section.Hit thanks to support me.

ok i'll start by tagging the developers here to see their magic happen, as i have noticed most of the issues are solved which were unsolved with Cm11 releases

Phones too buggy.
That's why there are no snapshots/ RC.

understood, from what i've heard, from a friend of my brother's, who's running Cm11 M8 on his galaxy s relay, seems to run stable, no major issues reported. sadly couldn't talk to him more since he's in an area that's got crappy network reception. I think if we tag the developers on this post we can get them to work their magic on our device, i think the issues that reside with the current CM11 might be resolved and run just as well as 4.1.2 builds
Hi,
I see at least 3 different CM11 roms based on kitkat:
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524961 [ROM] CyanogenMod 11.0 | Android 4.4.2 KitKat [KANG] [May-6]+[NIGHTLIES]
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530073 [ROM][STABLE][Android 4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11 with 3.0.16 kernel [July 25, 2014]
* http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692278 [UnORom][3.4Kernel] CM-11 Android 4.4.4 [Stable v2.0][29 July][Final]
All more or less unmaintained as far as I can see - please correct me if I'm wrong!
What are the remaining difficulties to get a official CM11 ROM out of these? Then a lot more infrastructure from CM could be used - e.g. development tools, build machines & downloads. If the problem is to get a build machine on which 3-5 persons could would together over the Internet - I'll spend a vserver on my own dedicated server if there is a serious effort to bring up an official CM11 ROM.
If there are rather tiny things I could try(!) to help - I have almost no experience with android system development, but with Linux and development (C, Java, embedded devices,...) in general.
Two links for the rough procedure:
* http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_porting_intro - the hard part, but luckily almost done (isn't it?)
* http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_Submitting_A_Port - the final

+1 for uptodate pure CM11 rom for sensation. I hope someone will join to you.
I think Flemmard's variant of CM is ready to be official!
official CM11 to Sensation!!!! We need it
+1
+1 It would be great thing for senny to so see official CM11 because many developers left us.
I don't think it's possible to make an official CM11 for our phone. IIRC, to be official it can't use legacy drivers and for the CM11 to work on our phone, I think we are using drivers from ICS because that's until where our drivers are updated, I'm not sure.
And "official" one in other hand would be amazing, I tried PA and etc but I always return to CM.

Flemmards CM use KK drivers.

It's good to take a question - how many developers are developing at this moment?
Albinoman moved to Galaxy S5
SultanXDA has forced to developing Nexus 5 device
Shantur give up his work and we can flash new builds only if Sajito will up new version (contains upstream changes)
Ivanich has decided to close his storage, so we cannot download anything...
...Ideas?

For now we have official slimkat builds and maybe bilal liberty still develops for senny.

The good thing is that all the great developers left us with good ROMs.
I think it is difficult to replace the devs. I can't fix the bugs they didn't fix until now, but I would like to try to keep at least one of the Cyanogenmod ROMs updated with upstream. I think in a month or two I will have time to start with that (if no one else is doing it until then).
@mifritscher: I think the lack of a build (or at least download-) server was a problem for devs here and then. So yes, your offer could be very helpful! Thanks for that!

Sensation is a 3 year old device. i think as the devs have moved on to other devices, so should we. though our sensation has a lot of potential, i dont think devs will work on an android L port or making CM11 official. though there is hope with ivanich & bilal_liberty

I can build but i dont know how to make a device tree so if someone can do the device trees i can do the builds
I don't know if we have everything working as on stock, also I don't know if the rom would pass cts.
But even if everything works, I don't think there's anyone around who has enough time to maintain an official build.
But at this point there's only one cm which is still updated and that's ivanich's one. Where's the difference in having an official build?
Where to go from here?
I'm just a casual user looking for a ROM. Going through these threads is confusing and so many links are dead.
What available for the sensation right now?

I hate to be a buzz-kill, but at this point this idea is pretty pointless.
IMO it'd be best to get a proper device tree/blobs for KK. When we have this, we can go on, but we need a proper base first.
Once we have proper KK ROMs, I honestly don't think we even need Lollipop, because our device does not have the best performance. Which is also why I think Android L ports from other devices (other than deviants of ours that is) is useless, as they will waste a lot of performance of our already weak device.
So all in all, I'd rather spend my time working on proper KK ROMs than wasting my time on Android L.
BTW, this is not development, which is why it doesn't belong into the dev section

Moving to general for now - if you have actual development down the line, let us know, and we can move it back!
Would love to see a Android L port for this tab ^_^
Pleas Ignore these assfaces that are trying to piss off, because its not a bad idea, since Lollipop is made with ART that contains more speed than kitkat.
Hope to see a ( maybe ) test build soon

Hi everyone (especially devs)...
Some devs (Thanks to all!) are trying to port CM11 to Note 3 SM N900.
There is lag problem and it's not solved yet. It is not convenient for daily usage.
Also, there are little bugs (but these are not important problems).
Now, I am curios about is there anybody who thinks to port CM12?
We, all Note 3 SM N900 users, are waiting an AOSP ROM and I think we deserved it.
Please, do it and make us happy.
We lack devs

Here is RaymanFX's response; "Building CM12 for the Note 3 should be easy, I already did the main work for Exynos5420. However, I don't have the device myself so someone else would need to update the device sources and compile builds, because I think blind development is bad and I don't want to mess up people's devices.".
