[Q] HTC One SV variants - HTC One SV

Hi guys, how do I tell which variant of One SV I got? k2_u, k2_ul etc..
I bought it from Malaysia and it is non-LTE.

Go to Settings. Go to Power. Scroll down and you will see Fast Boot. Make sure it is unchecked. Power off your device. Then press and hold your volume down key. Then press and hold your power key. Hold both until your HBoot screen appears. It will say it at the top. In HBoot you will use your up and down volume keys to scroll through your options. You will use the power button to select your option. There is an option to reboot. Select it and your phone will restart.

How do you switch to phone, press button at bottom of the main home screen?
What do you mean boots to menu screen? Which menu screen?

Have you tried powering off the phone? long hold on the Power button, or if still no response then you could try removing the battery.
next option if no success with either of those options is to perform a full reset.

Volume key unlocking?

Good day. I am planning to get the Sensation XE. But i have a question regarding the unlocking of the screen. On my xperia arc, in order to unlock, i have the choice of either pressing the power button and swiping to unlock or pressing the home key and then swipe to unlock. For the sensation, do i really need to press the power button then swipe to unlock? Or can the volume key be used to press then swipe to unlock? Is there a software or program that could substitute the power button for the volume rocker button to unlock? I find it a hassle to always reach out on top of the phone just to press the power button. Is there a way to make this easier?
Yup here u go:

By default, you have no option. The only way to wake the phone (turn on the screen) is by pressing the power button.
But as "deadeye0908" linked above, you modify it to use the voume buttons (after S-Off & root).

[Q] Software Power Menu

Hi,
I'm looking for an app which can open the DEFAULT power menu.
There are many apps in the Play Store which CREATE a power menu, but I want one which can just open it.
I use power menu a lot and I'm sure most of us use it very much. I just want something which can prolong the life of the power button.
I'm currently using Screen Off and Lock from the Play Store which can lock the phone using an on-screen icon. I want something like that for the power menu too.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
If you're rooted, you could try rom toolbox from jrummy, it has a complete rebooter section and a widget accessing to that section

I know there are apps which can display their own power menu.
But what I'm interested in is to use the default power menu...
Have a look at Screen off and lock in the Play store to know what I mean...

I assume you have a non-working power button. There are 2 ways you can do this:
1. Enable the Navigation bar feature in AOKP or SlimBean rom. Map the Power function to one of the button, but map it to the primary function of the button, not the secondary.
2. You can remap your capacitive buttons. Open the file /system/use/keylayout/cypress-touchkey.kl with the text editor of your root explorer, or copy it to your sdcard to edit it. Change KEY 217 ASSIST (or SEARCH), to POWER. Save the file and reboot. Also make sure you fix the permission of the file when you put it back if needed.
For both of these, press and hold that button to bring up the menu, one press = screen off.

My power button is working fine.
I'm just interested in getting the functionality of an on-screen button such displays the default power menu...
Thanks for your tutorial though.
Might help me some day...

Recovery boot options

Can somebody refresh my memory on how to get the boot option for recovery and fast boot by just pressing the power button I'm currently running joker rom.
I'm mot aware if joker has the advanced power menu but most roms menu will come with those options if it doesn't come up with advanced power menu than the Rom doesn't have that mod
Press power and volume down until lights stop flashing. Release power button for a second while holding volume down then press and hold power again. Use volume to move and power to select.
