I notice a difference in unlocking the phone, locking it, playing music etc... I've also noticed stronger haptic feedback on top of the camera fixes.

I've noticed the same. I had to go back into Google Keyboard and tone it down because it was too strong for me, in my opinion.

I had no idea google keyboard had settings.
The inline mic recording is improved, but is still at a lower gain than the handset mic.

My speaker for notifications is much louder now, as is my vibration. I Was one of the people who's vibration was so minimal I couldn't always feel it even when it was right against me but, after the 4.4.1 update, it's MUCH stronger.

Ringtone audio Buffering problem

When the phone rings i hear an annoying glitch or blip ( SCRATCH) which occurs only at the start of ringing tone.
My Questions:
Do u have the same problem ?
How we solved this ?
Thanks in advance
I had the same problem. Didn't solve it though. I think the MIDI engine takes a long time to load, which causes the glitches to occur. Try to get an mp3 ringtone, for me it works, no more glitches. Must be that decoding mp3 is faster than decoding MIDI files.
Don't know if it will work with you, lets hope

I have the same problem with your ringtone, but the MIDI was even worse Note that I had that problem too just previewing the file... The second preview was ok, must be some kind of cache miss or so?

Low speaker volume only when someone calls

Hello everyone!
Today I bought Z5 and I already love it! But... someting's wrong.
When I listen to music etc, the volume of the speakers is loud enough.
Though when someone's calling me, the ringtone barely sounds.
When I preview it while selecting it, it sounds loud enough (for a Z phone).
I'm on 32.0.A.6.152.
Do you what's going on?
PS. Sorry for my bad english...
Separate volume controls for media, alarm and ringtone. Check to see if your ringtone volume is all the way up. English is excellent, by the way.

I already repaired it twice via PC Companion and I even installed version .200 customized UK since Customized GR (where I'm from) is stuck on .152
It's always the same.
SMS, e-mails, Music are ok. Only calls. Even when I'm sliding the ring volume to maximum, for like 500msec it sounds loud and suddenly the volume's becoming lower, thought the bar stays to maximum.
I don't believe it's the device's problem, because the speakers are working perfectly on everything else.
I tried PCC and xproof-flashtool, I changed and tried all possible (maybe) settings, but nothing.
Happy New Year everybody!!!
I don't know what happened, but it got fixed by itself.
I didn't do anything. I just left it and went to sleep.
I woke up and tested it and it's working fine!

Good news
Low volume in call
Searched this Low volume in call a lot and found no answer. Then tried uninstalling all apps that had anything to do with volume.
In call audio is ok now after reboot.
I have the same issue, The volume is really really low. Initially it starts okay and then it just decreases so fast. But when I play some music the volume totally fine.
Hope to see a fix in future updates.

So you don't have this issue anymore? Or did you get used to it?

It got fixed by itself. Sony said that this is normal.
Just wait some hours.
I didn't get used to it because it's still low. The same low as playing music.

LeMax2 Equalization ??

equalization that compensates for the small size of the speaker
provides a more balanced distribution of all sound frequencies
reinforcing the bass and removing excess energy from the treble

I have difficulty manipulating the equalizer values
the problem may have many causes, such as the AudioFX application, LineageOS 15.1 system and/or LEX821 device
does anyone else have difficulty?

Yes, this is a crap. You are not alone. I have even tried to report, but they just deleted my post because "we don't accept feature requests". Afaik nobody working on it currently, so don't expect any fixes
Problem is gui, sliders don't react on touch.

[Tip][EQ] Better Audio Quality

The Nokia 9 Pureview is a beautiful phone but coming from the Nubia Z17 the audio quality is lacking. I find the audio to be muffled and murky at times and high pitched at others. So i think what i did makes the phone sound alot better. Also i don't know if its just me but this phone sounds alot better at full volume and gets worse as you lower the volume.
1st thing you wanna do is DISABLE and FORCE STOP the app "MusicFX" you can do this by going to Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all # apps -> ... -> Show system it will show in the list

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
*NOTE* you have to reboot the phone after this step since the Android 10 update so MusicFX will not conflict with new EQ - this is just once after Disabling MusicFX after that it will be fine
2nd you wanna grab "Equalizer FX" from the PlayStore you can get that here -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devdnua.equalizer.free
Then play with the settings and see what you like. My settings for reference are attached below
Thank you for addressing this and proposing a workaround solution. Out of the box the sound through the speaker is indeed terrible. I'm coming from the ZTE Axon 7 with two large front facing stereo speakers. Man I miss those on this Nokia 9. Besides having just the one-sided (in landscape) mono speaker, the quality is absolutely abysmal. Difficult to hear voices clearly unless you turn the volume up. I usually just grab my headphones. Does this equalizer solution of your only change the speaker output, or also the sound over Bluetooth? Because I'm happy with the sound over Bluetooth as it is, but sound over the speaker definitely needs improvement.
I think its a system wide EQ so I would just toggle it off for bluetooth or headphones.
Sometimes when my phone rings I have a cracking sound for a few seconds and then I hear my ringtone properly. Do other people happen to have that too?

Same problem with mine.
With ringtone and alarm.
Cracking sound for 1-2 second, and coming back to normal.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are you using the settings I proposed? If you are, I think the issue was the max loudness setting. I've changed them since and updated the OP with the new settings I personally use. I keep my ringing volume one step from max and my alarm Is about 50%. I haven't noticed any crackling but I don't really get calls that often I text more then anything.
So is there an actual difference between Equalizer FX and the stock MusicFX? Because it just appears to show and the same equalizer settings in both cases.

Not sure how you got the MusicFX EQ can you post a screenshot?
I set it through my music player EQ settings, ex BlackPlayer

That's an EQ built into the app it'll only effect BlackPlayer. My Poweramp app has something similar.
THANK YOU!
One of the main issues RESOLVED
Updated EQ Settings in OP attachments to match changes in new Android 10 update
Android 10 resolved this!
After upgrading to Android 10, the speakers sounds MUCH MUCH better!

Help with notifications and volume changing

Hello guys,
I'm wondering if is there a way to stop the sound volume changing made by notifications.
I'm explaining better: in any mode, with or without sounds or vibrations, when I'm listening to music or watching some stuff and I received a notifications, for example by WhatsApp or email, the sound becomes lower for a couple of seconds and then return to his previous volume. That's very annoying.
Do you know if there's a way to stop this behavior?

Go to Settings\Sound and Vibrations\ and look for Ascending Ringtone. This setting starts sounds low and raises them as it continues

I've tried it, didn't work, it keeps interruptions
To completely stop notifications from interrupting, you have to disable the notification related to the app.
Settings\Status bar and notification\Manage notification. Select your app and go through available settings. Experiment until you find what you're looking for.
Yes I've tried all the settings, nothing changed. Don't know if it's a bug.
Vivo with Oreo 8.1 does not support separate ringing/sound volume alarm form sound alarm notification.
You have to wait until Pie version arrive that add that useful separation.
Here's how sounds volume works on Pie.

Easiest way is to enable the silent mode from control manager while anytime you are watching videos and don't want the notifications disturb you.
Hope this helps!
