When the phone rings i hear an annoying glitch or blip ( SCRATCH) which occurs only at the start of ringing tone.
My Questions:
Do u have the same problem ?
How we solved this ?
Thanks in advance
I had the same problem. Didn't solve it though. I think the MIDI engine takes a long time to load, which causes the glitches to occur. Try to get an mp3 ringtone, for me it works, no more glitches. Must be that decoding mp3 is faster than decoding MIDI files.
Don't know if it will work with you, lets hope

I have the same problem with your ringtone, but the MIDI was even worse Note that I had that problem too just previewing the file... The second preview was ok, must be some kind of cache miss or so?

I love my XDA II.........it protects me from stealth charges, tells me where to go, gives me email/sms/phone etc, plus it's great for MP3's.
I want to use it as a Hi Fi around the house though as well...... is there any solution such as big powerful Bluetooth speakers that I can drop into the kitchen or any room I think suits?
Just an idea.....
Oh...also the ring tone on the alarm clock isn't good enough to wake me up......so any ideas here are appreciated too....!!
Many thanks
David
i agree with the alarm thingie..

Alarm Clock
Hi guys,
For the alarm clock:
pTravelAlarm is the best I have found (I am not an early bird!)
http://www.burroak.on.ca/pta.html <<< for features
Available from Handango - can't remember where I got mine from though as I didn't pay that much!
You can use your own music files for the alarm sounds (just dump the file in the correct directory)

Hi guys, just something along the lines of what is being discussed in this thread, concerning music around the house - I wanted to stream music off my home network using my XDA2s's WiFi connection....and then wirelessly send it to some bluetooth receiver with a line out socket....connected to an amp + speakers....thus i would be able to CONTROL the sound using the XDA and PLAY it on my existing sound system, instead of getting seperate speakers...
Has anyone had success in implementing something like this? In principle this seems relatively simple, I guess if there is any bluetooth headset on the market with a line out facility it could also be used for this purpose...
What do u folks think?? Has anyone tried this out or know of any such bluetooth music receivers that can synch with the XDA2s??

Remember seeing an application somewhere that allowed you to use your XDA as a remote control for your PC, to control a media player, via wi-fi.... can't remember where it was though........
This is the route I will be going to control my Windows MCE via Wlan.

Cool................
I was after something like this a year ago..!!!!
When my Verizon TP rings, the volume on the playing ringtones is loud for a second, and then quiet for a second, and then loud, then quiet.....*repeat.....
This is ontop of the already know ringtone delay issue. The delay issue is annoying, but not as annoying and the volume dropping and then coming back over and over while its ringing.
Anyone else dealing with this? Fix? please...

goto settings/phone/voicecommand & check the phone settings and see if you have announce incoming calls checked....if you do, turn it off. If that doesn't work, I don't know....
Well, thanks Chris. That sure did it. I love it when I can get a quick fix in one short blurb..
Although, i have another related Issue. I have voice command v1.6.19972 and it doesn't work for announcing calls. So, disabling it fixed the issue and i haven't lost anything because it never worked anyway. But how do i get it to work? do i need another version of voice command? and if i do get it working and turn on announcing, will the original issue come back?
Cheers

I think NATF's Latest rom and the one he is supposed to release this weekend (3.0)? fixes the VC issue. The fixed version has to be cooked into the rom I believe. I'm using an older NATF rom and mine doesn't work either. I'm probably gonna upgrade this week to his 3.0 version.. Good luck in the mean time....
So, finally Spotify for WM6 is here! Only one problem: Whenever a song is finished playing, the next song is played with the volume reset to a really low value, no matter what the volume was on the song before. Meaning that I have to increase the volume for every song played...
This bug is really annoying, and I havent found a solution so far.
Anyone found a solution/workaround?
SOLVED:
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825182
No permanent solution anyone?
Same for me, I paid and it don't work!!! grrr
Same problem here - a lot of other people have mentioned it too.

I found kind of a solution, I renamed Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll to HTCVolumeControl2.dll and did a soft reset.
This made Spotify unable to reset your volume, BUT the hardware volume buttons wouldn't work when Spotify was in the foreground, meaning I had to minimize Spotify every time I wanted to change the volume...
Please help!
I'm running stock ROM on Htc HD2
ROM ver 1.66.409.1 (76641) NOR
Radio 2.06.51.07
I can also send you the HTCVolumeControl.dll if necessary.

I also got another issue with spotify... the sound is "scratching" several times in each song. It's almost like playiong from a CD with scratch-marks...
Any one else got this problem?
I'm using Energy rom...
SOLUTION!
Found a working solution...
I foud a cab that completely removes Htcvolumecontrol.dll from the windows directory here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=117790&d=1222865332
This does fix the problem, but it will also give you the classic volume control from wm6 and remove the htc volume control entirely.

I have a theory; that if someone that doesnt have the problem with spotify resetting the volume on hd2 they should post their htcvolumecontrol.dll for us to try, maybe this can solve the problem in a better way!
Ive got this problem too. I dont want to do the workaround as I like the htc volume control method. Anyone have another solution?

Spotify staff is working on it. Here is the reply I got from support:
Hi!
Thanks for your e-mail!
It's a bug that was found on too late so it will be fixed in the next version. I don't know exactly when that is but we want to do it as soon as possible.

Samuel

Will this app disappear soon? Also does this still download the video and hide it, or does it only download the music part and not download the video part? For data usage purposes that is.
This app didn't disappear soon, Next Tube did not download any things, it play the song from YouTube on line.

It plays the video via WebView so it streams the video. The app is basically a WebView within an app that links to YouTube.
You can run WebViews in background as well hence why the music playback doesn't stop until you kill the app.
The sad part is the OP is making money off the application even though he didn't do anything besides create a WebView that connects to a URL.

Hello guys,
I'm wondering if is there a way to stop the sound volume changing made by notifications.
I'm explaining better: in any mode, with or without sounds or vibrations, when I'm listening to music or watching some stuff and I received a notifications, for example by WhatsApp or email, the sound becomes lower for a couple of seconds and then return to his previous volume. That's very annoying.
Do you know if there's a way to stop this behavior?

Go to Settings\Sound and Vibrations\ and look for Ascending Ringtone. This setting starts sounds low and raises them as it continues

I've tried it, didn't work, it keeps interruptions
To completely stop notifications from interrupting, you have to disable the notification related to the app.
Settings\Status bar and notification\Manage notification. Select your app and go through available settings. Experiment until you find what you're looking for.
Yes I've tried all the settings, nothing changed. Don't know if it's a bug.
Vivo with Oreo 8.1 does not support separate ringing/sound volume alarm form sound alarm notification.
You have to wait until Pie version arrive that add that useful separation.
Here's how sounds volume works on Pie.

Easiest way is to enable the silent mode from control manager while anytime you are watching videos and don't want the notifications disturb you.
Hope this helps!
