Restoring Nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How long does it take to restore nexus 5 using Nexus Root Toolkit?
Seems to of taken me about 2 or 2 1/2 hours.

Nothing should take that long. What are you trying to do?

Have you used lucky patcher on Whatsapp? I would wipe Play Store Cache and the dalvik cache. If you've used lucky patcher on whatsapp you should revert any patches you may have applied.

Then don't worry about the lucky patcher thing, are you rooted and do you have a custom recovery?

The other option I would recommend would be to root and flash a custom recovery, then flashing the dalvik cache. If that doesn't work then installing a custom ROM, but before that's an option I want to make sure we've used all other possible ways to fix it.

Thank you but rooting isn't on my plans because that was the reason I got a Nexus 5 vanilla Android. As well as that my bank apps will stop working.
Can't seem to find an explanation for this error.

Nope says app not installed.
Probably a factory reset would be an option???
But it is pain, reinstall and setup all again.

Hm, did you move any files to that nexus from a previous device that had Whatsapp installed? If so(or no, either way doesn't hurt to try), go into your internal storage and look for a folder named Android, then go into the folder Data. Look for the folder named com.whatsapp (or something similar) and delete the entire folder. Then try again.

There is no .WhatsApp folder.
After a Google search I found out that whatsapp does not run with Art but I changed to dalvik a few days ago so it should work.

I first got into rooting and flashing back in 2010 when Verizon was taking forever to update my OG Droid to Froyo. I finally got tired of waiting and decided to take matters into my own hands, and here I am today. Since you have a Nexus device, I say take the bull by the horns and update it yourself
4.4 -> 4.4.2 was 42MB, took a few minutes to install.

Literally the first link in General.
I did the factory image today but front camera doesn't come on
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
If yoga returned to stock and factory reset and front camera has not started working, it's likely hardware fault. Send it for repair
