I'm going to get new smartphone from my Omnia 7

Hi dear,
Im thinking to get a Nokia N8 .
I know symbian is not dead yet, but it's going to die by 2013.
As Im using a windows phone 7 which is Samsung Omnia 7, I've read the news that nokia will use WP7 as their main OS.
But I'm bored of using it since it has no turn by turn navigation app and still miss several important features to be smart. So I'm thinking to get a new smartphone. Actually, I have iPad right now and I'd used iPhone, blackberry, wm and android phone which was galaxy s, so I want to try new. And I don't really care of how many apps are in the market. I need only some crucial apps such as Skype.
My priority thing when Im getting new smartphone is Internet browsing, map, and multimedia functions which are camera, music and video. N8 is very suitable for my preference but I just worry about the OS. Some said symbian^3 is not good enough to be compared with iOS and android while the other said it's the best OS for heavy user or geeks.
Can anybody help me to make a decision? I nearly made my decision but after I've read some reviews from website such as engadget and cnet, I'm seriously thinking if it's good decision to get it.
Please help me folks

[Q] Should I buy an android tablet?

Hey, I'm sorry if there's a similar thread floating around somewhere, but I searched as best as I could from my phone...
Anyway, I recently received a free ipad 2, and as I expected, I hate it. I plan to sell it ASAP. So I'm faced with the decision of simply keeping the money, or getting an android tablet in it's wake. From what I've read, there don't seem to be very many apps for tablets, and really, how useful are tablets in the first place? Considering that I'm a university student with a brand new gaming laptop, the only real use I can think of for a tablet is for reading textbooks/studying notes, etc. On top of that, I have a Moto Atrix, so an android tablet seems kinda redundant...
So am I missing something? Does anyone have an android tablet and want to defend the purpose of owning one? Are there decent games at least? Or should I just pocket the ~$500 I'll get for the ipad?

I would say no. if an atrix tab-dock comes to market reconsider but it sounds like you would regret a tablet.

I'd keep the money. Like you said, you have an Atrix and a laptop. Me, I have a Defy and a netbook. I love the netbook despite it's ****ty hardware. And I would take a netbook over a tablet every time.

Damn. They're just so cool, but so useless. Maybe I'll wait until ice cream sandwich and then reconsider my decision. Thanks

Iphone4 vs Windows Phone 7 Device for a girl?

Okay a friend of mine asked me to give her a device about what smartphone to buy. She is a girl she wont root, she is not into computers, she just want a good phone. So I've decided not to advice with some android phone because this is not for her needs. What she need is the simplest and best running phone. I've immediately told her to get an iphone 4. But I've wondered about Windows Phone 7. WP7 UI is just really beautiful and I like it a lot. But I've never spent time reading and researching about WP7 because it is locked like iOS and this is not what I am looking for and my android phone suits me perfectly. But it is a good alternative to iOS i think. It is easy to work with and is very beautiful. So would you give me some hints about WP7.
What would you recommend me WP7 or iOS? The biggest factor is stability, she will get used to both of operating systems but which is most stable. Of course ease of work is a bonus too. Tell me about other cons and pros. If you think WP7 is good. Please recommend a phone. The phone can be any price range. What we look for is not so much performance CPU and etc. she is a girl she won't play games. We look for good design and most important good quality build. Like I am very happy with my Sensation but I have this feeling of the bad quality build (dead grip, power button issue and more) so I am searching for the phone that is most near to perfect (there isn't a perfect phone) So I am waiting for your suggestions thank you!

Why don't you just go to a mobile phone shop and try some out with her? Surely that's the best way, if she's only purely bothered about the phone.

well, keeping both the iOS at stock that is no system related mods both are quite stable. So you should just let her see both and then decide perhaps.

Of course she will decide which phone to take. But I want to ask you about quality. That's why I mentioned my Sensation great phone, great design but poor quality in some aspects and you can't predict this unless someone tells you from experience. And I've never worked with WP7 so I am asking you to give me an opinion is it good enough as the iOS. Is it good for noob users I know iOS is best for noob user but WP design is great and gives us more range of phones but I don't know if buying a WP7 phone is a good decision never met this OS.

If she plays games, iOS. If she does social networking, texting, music, chatting, pretty much anything else, go wp7

Please propose me a high quality WP7 device with screen no bigger than 3.7 inches other factors does not matter of course the better specs are preferred.

Take her to the store, let her experience both and she will decide.

While the iPhone does work fine for many, she may like a Windows Phone for the fact that it is dang good for social networking, stability, and overall it has grown a lot in a short amount of time. I love my Arrive and my mom who could bairly opperate a flip phone, now uses a Trophy to good levels.
This gal may also dig some of the new Nokia phones and their various color options.

I'd go with the Samsung Omnia 7 (or it's newest equivalent).
The Samsung phones have awesome AMOLED screens that are the only thing outside of an iPhone that look AWESOME.
It's also a VERY good looking device, and because it's Samsung you can expect the very best voice quality on the market.

The nokia looks very good and their phones are high quality but are they good enough with the smartphones they are pretty new in this thing?

Any price constraints? Iphone is more sexy, but IMHO Windows Phone has the most intuitively correct and awesome UI.

honestly if you just want a solid tablet, fast processor, good games, good apps go with apple
I own an ipad 3, a kindle fire, and a samsung galaxy 7+
ipad beats them all for general use. if you are a heavy modder/tweaker, you're obviously gonna find an android tablet to suit you better. but otherwise, apple wins in my book

No, I don't want it for mods/tweaks, now I try something with my S2. I want it only for general daily use.

Hi here in the uk the note 10 is now £318
But on seeing this VIDEO review dated 15th of august i am a bit unsure as i expected it be better as it is quad core, 2g ram etc.

read the threads that user post their comments about this device.
many reviews in the internet never give accurate information. this device is not laggy at all, even when i playing some heavy games like the bards tale.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago.... previously had a Sony Tablet S and before that a dreaded fruit based tablet!!!
The Note is by far the best tablet I have owned!!!
With regards to lag, in day to day use there is ZERO Lag!!! The only lag I have witnessed is when the device is on charge and I'm downloading multiple very large files and playing games all at the same time!!!
I'm UK based too, so still running HC, when this baby gets JB or is only going to make it better and faster!!!

I have asome questions first.
Do you want a tablet that you can show others how sharp, smooth, fast and responsive the screen is or do you want a tab that has the ability to be the most productive tab on the market?
Do you want a tab so you can brag how high the specs are or do you want a tab that will do things that you need to do?
I ask these questions because you refer to the posted review and I guess the most damming thing in the review is the way they demonstrate the lag of the multi screen apps. The truth is you will not be switching between apps that fast in real life so you won't get the lag hardly ever. The thing they should point out is not the fault of the muli screen but the very fact that the GNote10 is the first and at this point only tab to have this productive ability.
As far as resolution true the iPad 3 has 2048x1536 and the GNote10 has 1280×800 but the real consideration is that for all practical purposes the average user can't tell the difference between then unless they are side by side that is how good the GNote10's screen is. There is a limit to how much detail the eye can see on the small 10.1" screen.
If you want the tablet that will always have the best specs, fastest, smoothest sharpest display then you need to forget about getting any tab. Because as soon as you get one it will no longer be the tab with the best specs, fastest, smoothest sharpest display as someone will make a better one.

Not yet but jelly bean has been released in Germany so its not far away.

You really need to do some poking around on the forum; all your questions have been answered. There are some videos showing how it performs posted by actual users. It's been updated numerous times and a stock JB ROM was released in Germany. There are also threads comparing it to the TF700 and to the N10. Seek and you shall find...

As for poking around I am too excited and thought the best way to get the info is from people who would be happy to tell me, as I would be if I had one and someone asked.

There are many many post on the review of note please see my pinned thread I have most of the links on that. One thing you will find is that all user reviews are opposite to the tech site reviews.
As far as the lag is concerend I and many other fellow users have posted videos proving it to be otherwise even under extreme conditions which you will never do in normal use.
There are many threads related to this and I would request you to use the one opened by me at the begning as it becomes easier for everyone
