cyanogenmod official builds - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It looks like they've released a build for our device. I'm wondering if anyone is using it yet.

CM9

Do any of our awesome developers plan on working on a cm9 port once source for ics is released?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
I bet the real devs here will work on there own roms when source is released instead of kanging cyanogenmod.
I really hope someone will!
Since my SGS II runs with CM7, i'd love to see it on my TF.
Edit:

I hope there will be a "official" Team for building CM9 for the TF, not a simple Kang.
Why not contribute? I'm not aware of CM's development model but I'm sure they would appreciate help, or say tablets should FO.

Some of the CM devs got TF's so yes, we will most probably get official release in the first wave

[Dump?] Android JB 4.1.2

Hello to all!
Something regarding Android 4.1.2 Dumped from Asus Nexus?
There are sources already, AOKP build 5 will likely be 4.1.2.

why a nexus7 dump?sources was been pushed to AOSP,we have only to wait that teams rebase their roms .Anyways,i have it running on mine devices, and it's nothin special to have rush to test it.
Latest TeamEOS3 #77 is updated to 4.1.2
Seems to be working fine so far.
ParanoidAndroid is 4.1.2 and is by far the fastest ROM I have used including cm10 and eos3 that I keep flip flopping between.
I have found a happy home for now.
Cheers

[Q] CM10-What is the difference between the nightlies and the stable 10.0.0 release?

Is there any reason to have one over the other? Why are they still releasing nightlies after the stable release came out? I'm currently using the latest nightly and wondering if I should switch.
Thanks.

Read the thread, it describes why it's named release, and why there are still nightlies. Having the newest nightly is probably still best.
Which thread? I couldn't find that info.
Here is the explanation for you.

ChameleonOS first public beta is out!!

Just a heads up that our ChameleonOS (ChaOS) public beta is out www.chameleonos.org. We should have our threads up in the development section in the next few days, but you can feel free to give it a try now.
Just installed. Seems great so far. No issues with the install, and everything seems to be running smooth. Great work!

I've been running it for a while now before release and haven't come across any issues, would be nice to see if i missed something
Keep in mind if you want to change themes you can use MIUI themes, just there may few a images that don't cross over, but they almost completely theme it. We hope more themers pick up now that we are released

This looks neat.
Is this based on CM10.1 or CM10 releases, or branched a long time ago?
Does the theme engine allow a customizable phone dialer layout? I never liked the CM10 dialer, but I know some roms allowed the ui to be shuffled.
I should probably just download and try it, but my internet isn't handling another big download right now.

It is based off 10.1, as of now you can't change layouts, but that app hasn't been worked on yet, and has plans to change..we have a thread on our forums for suggestions if you have dialer layout ideas in mind

Hmm, finally something new which is not a mashup of CM, AOKP or PA.
Are Gapps included?

Which one is the beta? The build from April 1st?
April 1st is the beta release, the rest are nightlies, but I haven't encountered any problems yet with them

Looks great! I will give this a try tonight.

Edit: Ok I lasted about 5 mins before restoring my backup.. maybe in time more will be added to it but for now its not for me. Nice to see more roms though
Is this based on the 4.1.2 cm builds? Just read a couple post back. It says cm 10.1. I checked the change log and it says 4.1.2. Trying to port this. Been using 4.2.2. As base.
Never mind I looked at the build prop says 4.2.2.

It comes with the default theme applied, but you can apply any chaos or MIUI themes

Only option for me is to port. Don't have the hardware to build anything at the moment. Running a 32 bit PC. I believe you need a 64 bit to build unless I read wrong. I'm still learning the ropes.

Beautiful looking ROM, but I could not get wifi to work.
Is this just me, or are others experiencing this?
No problem here. Did you flash boot.img?

Moto X Pure Nougat Kernel Source Code Released

Link is here.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...-kernel-source-code-2015-moto-x-pure-edition/
Ironic that the Pure Nougat OTA update is nowhere in sight, but hopefully DEVS can use this to incorporate into their ROMS for the community.
WTH... haha...
Any idea when will custom ROMs apply this?
I'm afraid this doesn't bode too well for those waiting for the update. I'll be surprised though if there is an official update. :/ However, glad they released it now so that devs can take advantage of it.
Seems like they give up on the official update and released the source code for the dev community to do it instead...
Go home Motorola, you're drunk.

Kernel source > Official update
Will this be helpful in developing Nougat ROMs for Moto X Style too? Or Motorola has to release seperate kennel source for the style as well?
I think the article is misleading... The kernel source is for "Clark" but isn't that the Style too, and not just the Pure?

I do believe the codename for both is Clark.

This is a good news for @invisiblek @Hashbang173
This is really good news. Doesn't say much for LG or former Motorola engineers , since they made the device.
Either way, I rather have the XDA community making an effort and seeing what they can accomplish. Thumbs up LG for releasing your latest foot print...looking forward to what XDA community can accomplish!
To all the naysayers, I'm still using my old HP Touchpad running Kit Kat. Maybe sluggish during updates, but suits my needs and if it ain't broken why fix it! Sorli...

So what does that mean for normal user? Could camera2 api be enabled in the future?
I'm on the Style (XT1572) and finally got the OTA today, is it updating to Nougat right now. Funny thing is that today I was about to accept a deal with my local carrier for a Mate 9 LOL...maybe I should re-consider, btw I'm in Mexico.

Interesting... Thanks for keeping us in the loop on the rollout. It's been quiet lately on the forums on whether or not the rollout was still happening.
... especially when they had released the kernel source just yesterday. I was paranoid that the rollout stopped completely due to a massive bug / issue just discovered.

No, well, probably not... The kernel source is more of interest to developers of ROM's, they can implement the code into things like LineageOS, AICP, RezRemix, etc... and remove the "hybrid" code they have that is Marshmallow and Nougat combined. In theory, it should remedy some of the issues people have on Nougat custom ROMs.
Any idea of witch costum ROM has implemented this?

Lineage. But it's an experimental build. Not daily driver material yet.

Implementing new kernel source can be tricky sometimes, give it a couple weeks, then initial builds implementing it should start rolling out... Be aware that if you have not upgraded to stock Nougat yet, this could cause more problems than it fixes since ROMs will be expecting you to have a Nougat partition table and radios...
I would expect most well maintained ROMs to have it fully implemented within 60 days.
