[REQ] 4.4.1 Camera - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will someone rip the camera apk for guys on the GPe phones?

I don't think its that simple, theres a couple new camera files and libs labelled camera, so just uploading the apk might not work as intended. You can get the update from here and mess around with it http://android.clients.google.com/p...ed-hammerhead-KOT49E-from-KRT16M.7ed504f6.zip

I'm running an SGS4 GPe so the OTA is no help for me

ATT's IM app

I am looking for the ATT IM apk, i have tried downloading the stock rom and pulling it, but i am not finding it in the file. Can some one please share the apk with me?
Do you know what the application is called? That might help someone find it.
Sounds like stock mms, but if your running custom Rom then touchwiz frame work dependant stuff aint going to do it for you

I saw it on my dad's Skyrocket. On my old captivate it was called im.apk but I have not found anything like it.
I'm running the stock rogers 4.1.2 rooted and deodexed. I have downloaded both stock ics and the leaked att 4.1

Flashing Photosphere app on the S4

I found this thread: http://droidviews.com/2013/how-to-install-android-4-2-photosphere-camera-on-samsung-galaxy-s4/ that says a person flashed the Nexus 4 photosphere apk with TWRP and it worked on his GT-I9500. Has anyone tried this before?
Camera doesn't work but the gallery does, I can view old photospheres from my nexus 4

Ok I have been informed that you need to be rooted and flash in recovery otherwise photosohere will force close. I dont know how it will work on the note that way.

Link to updated apk with the correct libs for the s4, my note isn't rooted anymore so I can't flash this to test it.

Thing that gets me is that Goog just releases a slightly newer version of Android and doesn't tell anyone. -_-
I installed it without root and works fine for me, no flashing just installed the apk.

Second link in my third post is the flashable zip. It fixes the crashing while using photo sphere on the s4. I don't know if it will work right on our tablet. You can try if you want, just make a backup. If you already tried that then it needs some dev work..

Awsome works perfectly on mine, which is unrooted stock rom just installed apk like any other app. Cheers
Bit of a learning curve trying to line them up though.
Thanks, it`s beautiful!
The 2nd Camera doesnt work.
It works great on my S4 mini but when I try to take pictures with the 2nd camera, the app says that the connection can't be done. What can I do?
Pd: sorry for bringing this old post back to life.

Jelly Bean 4.2 camera & Gallery apk

Here's the standard camera app from jb , comes with photosphere which works with our phone.
Must be flashed in recovery and you will still have your moto camera app.
The advantage to using this is there's a actually shutter button on the screen which allows you take pic much quicker

Also allows you to take photos while recording video

You have to have a rooted device? The apk was also made available on Droid Life but I'm pretty sure they said that it replaces your camera and gallery app

I don't think it can replace your original camera app... at leat not just like that, because it's a system app. I'm pretty sure you can have one copyrunning from system and another one along with the rest.
No I believe it does nor do most flashable zips

Didn't notice that was a flashable zip. Just installing the apk (link in the other thread) works just fine. Just tried it myself. You do get 2 gallery icons, though, since you have it installed twice (one in each partition).
Yah one is the moto gallery the other S4 gallery

Yup. Still cool, although I guess I'll see if I can change the apk's name or icon... you know, just so I can tell one from the other.

Well, for anything other than Photosphere, I'm still more leaned to use Moto's camera app, you know? I like the slow motion vid, the layout... and I'm not even sure if I'm getting 10.5mpx with the stock Android camera app... which doesn't matter for Photospheres, but for everything else, I'd rather keep .
Moto camera definately comes with more options, for those who want the money shot in slo mo , moto camera it is

The question is, has anyone tried installing the 4.3 camera normally?

i know there are many similar apps are available but what goes in giving this new one a try as well .. being an Android device user you are most prone to have equal theme stuffs

You need root I believe, there's libs that are required for photosphere. Never had an android device that wasn't rooted within a day if purchasing it

I know there were libs for the 4.2 camera which was a pain, but wasn't the 4.3 GPE one just install and go? At least with some devices...

I have no idea, but almost positive there's probably and apk for 4.3 camera that installs in an unrooted device. Let me check my other 2 phones that are running jb 4.3
Its a system app so it won't install
Found this and it seems to install as a standard apk

I installed it and took it off. Don't need root. Searched it on the boards. It doesn't use the full wide-screen but everything else seemed to work

Battery mod for lollipop!

I hate the stock blank battery icon. I'm working on a battery icon mod to show the actual number. I'm currently running xtrasmooth 5.0 which is an odexed ROM....as odex allows for more memory it makes it a pain the a$$ for modding. If I take the systemUI from the stock ota image, and mod it, place it into system/priv-app path will I have any issues? Either way I'll have a nandroid....
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda premium
Uhhh so the stock image is odexed....WHYYYY. I don't have the patience to learn how to deodex an apk. This is really annoying...
