Water damaged, No Baseband, Imei Null/Null.. What a mess. - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hi Developers and people who knows how to do stuff.
I'm a Noob in this, buuut need help.
Like a Week ago, i drowned my cellphone into sea inside my pants. at that moment, the Led Flash stayed on. I took Battery out, dissamble the cellphone and dried With Cold Air, Rice, Silica Gel.
finally i got my cellphone to turn on, [for a moment] but had a circuit overload [ i think that was the Led Flash meanted.]
After several days with the cell off, someone brought it back to life, I only had to buy a new battery.
NOW Is where the real thread starts.
My infuse shows No Baseband Version, No IMEI, No IMEI SV, Bluetooth Address Unavailable, Wifi Works, but it won't get to Airplane mode because it can't turn Cell Signal off. [because it does not have any cell or baseband]
I've tried Flashing Back to Gingerbread with UCLB3 Unbrick. Nothing.
I've tried Flashing UCLB1 & UCLB3 Modems back. Nothing.
I've tried Gingerbread Bootloaders. Nothing.
I'm thingking that this might be, because, when it was delivered to me, the guy told me, you have to flash that cell, it has a bootloop at Samsung Logo.
It Was running CM 10.2 and an Overcloked Kernel [Never changed the Clock Speed, but had the option to]. when flashed back to Gingerbread, and Going back to CM, it brick'd my IMEI and network info.
I don't know what else to do.. Please help me out! Looks like i Have an Ipod Touch! No network, No Bluetooth.

You tried jscotts odin back to stock tool? You can also try flashing some pure unofficial cm9 like Entropy's rom if you are able to flash!
The internals of your phone must be corroded after a drop in sea water. A real mess indeed. U can consider yourself lucky you can still use it like a media player.
Consider buying a new phone instead of repairing it though.
Good luck

I've tried

I've flashed back to FROYO 2.2.1 but it doesn't say nothing new to me! I'm waiting an answer from someone who told me to use JTAG Unbrick Tool [You know, Like Veteran's mode in COD]. But if this doesn't fix this, I'm thinking in buying the SIM CARD Reader for my infuse and replace it.
If it's not that, then I will buy a new Cellphone and stay with INFUSE 4G for Testing Roms, Apps and everything.
This is My Android Smartphones School.
By the way, could you please link me to that Famous "JScott's" Odin Back to Stock Tool!
Thanks.

I've tried that too! i've just waiting to receive my Infuse 4G Sim Card Reader to arrive, and then replacing it.
BTW, I'm running 4.4 now from Scott.Hart.BTI right now.
thanks for all

Used to be able to flash any ROM, now I have problems with every rom!

used to be able to flash any combo...even I-9000 roms(darky's...) with proper kernel and modem combos.
Had no problems ever!
Now, ANY combination kills my signal. Paragon; perception, pheonix, the list goes on and on.
The only ROM i can run is Cognition. If i flash to a different kernel/modem combo,(even while running cognition) I have problems.
Now atleast I am stuck with a good ROM, but I would love to fine-tune with a different kernel/radio and I have NO idea why my phone is acting this way. I am thinking maybe it's a SIM card thing(I pulled the SIM out one timebefore the phone was fully shut down...
other than that I cannot think of anything weird I have done.
In between flashes I have ODIN'd back to H2 and then Master Cleared.
Flash via CWM. Root with 1-click.
PLEASE give me some idea of what I have done?!?!!?
Or is it warranty time for the phone due to 'GPS' issues..
Thanks

Find the modem cognition uses that gives you the least problems. Are you flashing to stock before each ROM?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Yep, back to stock & master cleared between(only once problems arised..back in the day I could just flash to what I wanted and never really had a problem. Went back to stock once when the new flash responded strangely.)
Looking at cognition, I get minimal information, I THINK it's stock radio/kernel..

Any one???
I would..check your usb plug/cable/port first..make sure it isn't bad and effecting your data transfer..Make sure your not plugged into a external port and plug into PC directly..
Re down load your roms and kernels again..keep them separate from what you have already used..
Flash back to stock..master clear delete all data on your internal and your data
Re-install everything over again..cause it sounds like something got corrupted along the way

Thats how I am leaning, but i dont think it's with the roms/kernels/radios i have downloaded...since I have tried so many damn copies that wouldn't make sense. also tried downloading directly to phone, eliminating the "3rd party" computer, and have used drop box in the past...
I have flashed to stock and master cleared, i could do it again, but i am tempted to go back to stock and try to exchange it for a new one due to either random shut-offs or GPS(both of which mine are effected by..) but i would like to avoid this hassle...
If something did get corrupted, any idea how I'd solve that? I am at a loss as to what could have gotten corrupted that a odin'd stock + master clear wouldn't solve...?

It's possible that your phone has a hardware issue making it more finicky. Try stock for a bit and see if the problems go away. Maybe try Andromeda 1.0 and see how the KP1 modem works (or just flash KP1 on some other ROM).

hopped back to Stock... Gonna run things here, see which problems arise, and go from there. Can you flash a different kernel onto the stock ROM? I'd assume you need a 2.1 kernel, and i don't think many are retrofitted to 2.1, but the KP1 modem is a good idea, ill let things pan out on stock and see what happens if/when i flash kp1 modem.
funny fact: fire fly made problems for me... it's based on rogers 2.2, same as cognition. that seemed odd to me.

Proud new owner of a rooted G2X, but rusty with the recovery.

First off, thanks for stopping by to assist. Secondly, I just bought a used G2X off ebay and it came already rooted, with super user already installed. However, there's no rom on there and it's still running Froyo 2.2.2.
I haven't messed with rooting, recovery, or ROMs since my G1 so I'm quite rusty, leaving me with a few questions.
1. I know LG just released a Gingerbread update, yet I can't access it or any of the previous updates through the about phone update area. That's because I'm rooted right? I wouldn't mind just having stock 2.3.4 on here for now.
2. I don't know if the previous owner already put a custom recovery on here or not (not very talkative) so is there a way for me to check that? I was reading that if I boot into recovery without a custom one installed, the default recovery automatically starts wiping and reformating and I don't want that.
3. And just a general consensus question, coming from my horrible Samsung vibrant, GB roms are the way to go with this phone right, avoid the ICS?
Thank you in advance for all your help. Appreciations.
To check if you have a custom recovery power off phone and then boot into recovery mode via Power + volume down until you see 2nd LG logo, then release. The recovery type will be on top of the screen and bottom if I remember right. To update through Over The Air, I believe you need to be stock completely.
1. unroot, and most of what you need is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049154
2.That might be the case I'm not sure, I think completely factory resetting the phone is doable by holding power + volume down/up... Not completely sure as that is as far back as I can remember when the phone was 1st released a year ago. the least you can do is try if you plan on flashing a custom rom.
3. Personally I like CM7 based roms... or at the least 2.3.3 roms, that have been customized.
Overall this phone is cake walk compared to flashing the G1 with all the partitions and the gold card and what not...
That's what I was going to do, but then I read this:
To perform a master reset using the hardware keys, follow these steps:
Back up all necessary data. See: Prepare for a master reset and back up data on Android
Turn off the phone.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down, key.
The phone will turn on and display the LG Logo
Wait 30 seconds and thephone will display the open box and arrow pointing towards the phone.
Release the keys, and the phone will reset back to the start up screen.
And so I'm catious about checking that right now because I don't want it to reset right now, kind of has used to use it right now.
I actually miss root, so I think I will stay rooted and check out one of these nice GB ROMS. Man, I have missed custom ROMS lol Now it's just a matter of deciding which is the best to use. So out of th eloop anymore on this stuff.
And yeah, the G1 was an adventure. Soft bricked it twice before.
Ummmm well either way if you do flash a custom rom, you are gonna need to wipe regardless. PM with any questions after you do some searching. All the links and questions you have should be out there already.

Thank you for posting an intelligent thread. Basically if you don't want to wipe then you need to install cwm through nvflash, then create a backup. After that flash a rooted froyo rom. If you flash gb over froyo you will most likely have issues if you do not wipe properly. You can try it...but more then likely issues will arise.

ICS roms are buggy and are awesome but if you dont want any problems GB shouldn't fail you. The first ROM I used were ICS but after months of not being able to record anything I had to try out GB and so far these roms are perfect. The ICS are still badass but I suggest you mess around with all of them though G2x has awesome devs.
I can confirm that if you hold the volume down and power until the second LG screen comes up you will factory reset the phone. I accidentally did it yesterday when I flashed the stock recovery back on the phone and wanted to check and see if it had worked. I'm a complete noob with flashing etc but like mt3g said all the info is here just look around for it.

You could have recorded videos by downloading an app called video cam illusion. It does the job.
I forgot about my own thread! lol But thanks for all the insight and help. Currently running into a mobile network/data drop issue so taking advantage and flashing a whole bunch of different roms. From MIUI to Kang Banger is like 2 opposite ends of the spectrum, but I love them both!

[Q] Trouble with LOS on AOKP build 38

I am running Devious aokp_mesmerizemtd_build-38 with the 3.1.10_IcyGlitch_SkunkWorks_I500 kernal. I am using the EH09 modem, as I have not found any others that give me any connection at all. My Mesmerize is a later build, and came with 2.3 from the factory. This seems to prevent me from using older modems from 2.2 and earlier. I have tried what I believe to be different radios, such as JPG, JPX, and JP9. I am flashing these thru Clockworkmod 5, many of them fail with a Status 7, and that ones that do flash seem to make no difference. I have tried different builds of AOKP and have had the same problems, but have not tried any other ICS roms.
I experience this mainly while using both the gps, and streaming radio together, but rarely when I am not using either as well. My signal will drop off, and the phone will remain stuck in airplane mode until a reboot. My wife has the same phone, with the same build number, IMM76I, and is experiencing the same problems.
I'm not sure what else to try, I am loving AOKP, and going back to 2.3 does not sound like a good option to me. Anyone had any luck with radios other that EH09 on a newer Mesmerize?
Dude ... take a breath ... breath breath ...
Now ... Odin will make ur life easier
Google Search Odin XDA
My Devious Mesmerize
First off, I was on build 38 for fascinate of devious for the longest time, and was having the same data problems. First off, your gna wanna find 'milestone 6' of devious, kanged for mesmerize. Find and download the mesmerize specific packages, and flash them. Once u have the rom up and running, got to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28081212
And in there u will see talk of the fc27 modem. Download that package and flash it via Odin. That SHOULD take care of the data problem. I had the same issues, and I pretty sure its gone now, so....
Good luck!
Bacon in my coffee, please? You don't have bacon?! Unacceptable!!

[Q] Bootloop after bootloop after bootloop, someone help!

I was having the roaming issue after flashing to a MIUI ROM so I tried as hard as I could to try and figure out the guide to fixing it but nothing worked. I was planning on playing dumb with Verizon and telling them I just won't turn on. Well on my way out to the car to go I was just finishing up a ODIN flash back to stock and my phone slid off the keyboard hit the ground and shattered. Just my luck right? Anyway, I got the normal "it was probably because you dropped it" talk and there was nothing they could do.
My question to you is, what do I do? I have flashed many different copies of the original ODIN and I still got nothing just bootloops.
Note: it was happening before I dropped it so dropping it did not affect it.
Thanks to anyone who can help fix my $500 off contract paperweight...

[Q] Broken Recovery, No Signal, No Ability to Save APN

Hey everyone,
I used to have a Sidekick 4G that was rooted and ROM'd so Im not neccessarily a noob to this, but still a bit. I bought an LG Optimus T (T-Mobile) as a replacement for my broken Sidekick. I'd had the phone before so I knew it was a decent phone, and for $40 on eBay, a deal I couldn't pass up.
Here's the story: I rooted my phone and got a ROM loaded on New Years Day. ROM was fine, but I decided I wanted to change to a newer version of CyanogenMod this past Saturday(1/5). So after testing out a few ROM's, I came across one that unfortunately didn't flash properly. When I tried to go to use the phone, the main Android OS crashed. I had a black screen with the nav bar displaying no SIM card(which was accurate), the time, battery life, and no signal. Once my boyfriend got home and was able to get the phone to finally boot into CWM and flash into the new ROM, even with my SIM card in, I had no signal. I thought maybe it was an issue with the APN so I went in to try to fix it and none were listed. When trying to add one it, it never saved.
My recovery in CWM goes back to the broken ROM, unfortunately. When trying to unroot, Superuser begins to not respond when its trying to uninstall either busybox or Superuser. The phone works fine, I can connect to WiFi and use it and everything.
My question for you today is does anyone have a recovery of the stock ROM that they can post that I can flash into, or any tips on how to fix this? I thought maybe my SIM card is fried for Android, so I thought of calling into T-Mobile to have them activate a spare I have laying around, but would that fix the issue?
I really appreciate any help that you guys can provide. Thanks in advance!
